I used to live next door to a freelance TV director. He had done some Rainbow, a lot of Button Moon and a week of Eastenders [editline]31st August 2013[/editline] Hope very much that Confidential will really come back as rumoured today on Twitter
Is it?? I would love for it to come back jesus christ.
Me too, it was so interesting seeing behind the scenes
#DoctorWho fans, as well as the first official look at Peter Capaldi in #TheMusketeers, our brand new #OriginalBritishDrama trailer also features exclusive footage of David Tennant as Will Burton in #TheEscapeArtist.

I'm still finding this all strange, why the muted celebrations for a show that's 50 years old?

We can assure you our 50th celebrations will in no way be muted - we'll have details soon but for now, trust us! You won't miss our celebrations, promise.
Apparently was a thing.
It really pisses me off when people complain about the lack of celebration. I've seen the general public saying they're going "overboard" already. Fans are simply never impressed. It's not even the 50th Anniversary yet and they're already upset about the lack of fan fair. I'm 21 in May. Can we start my 21st Birthday celebrations now!? I'd like a trailer- multiple trailers- and a prequel when I'm played by Paul McGann. [editline]1st September 2013[/editline] Oh and I need Mark Gatiss to write a show about my conception. Maybe screen my birthday celebrations LIVE in cinemas worldwide? I'm still not satisfied though, how DARE you all under celebrate this early. How DARE you!
I'm more mad (I say mad, I mean very slightly peeved off) at the lack of fan fair for the fan fair. They should be hyping these things up more with trailers n such. :v
Yeah but remember that not everybody is a mad Doctor Who fan. It'll just annoy people. Come October I imagine Doctor Who will be hard to avoid until November 24th. It's going to get wild.
It's fine to get wild on your 50th! It's just a bigger version of how it's 'your' day during your birthday. It's just since it's a TV show it gets a longer time period.

They'll expect an appearance from all the good times of my 50 years, but instead, I'll just focus on the last eight years! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
For all you know David Bradley is reprising the role of the first Doctor in it.
He doesn't need to. We already know the story has Zygons and [sp]the first ever location from Doctor Who history[/sp]. Imagine what else there is. Plus I'm sure Moffat said recasting Doctors is awful. It is, there's no need. Always other ways around it. Hurndall was a nice guy and did a good job but he wasn't The Doctor. Though I accept it's all they could manage in 1983. I'd expect something a bit more clever this time. The Five Doctors was The Three and a Half Doctors.
No DW in the BBC Drama trailer. But then I guess one-off specials don't count.
The song is Brennisteinn by Sigur Ros by the way - it's one of my favourite songs from this year

Since the drama trail, the BBC have made more promises on Twitter than Doctor Who fans will have lots to love coming soon.
I love that Peter Capaldi is shown after a flash of a pocketwatch
It's amazing how every program in that Autumn trailer looks like quality TV. Love the BBC.

http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNTk5OTQ2MTI0.html Hilarious watching Chinese people cheer every time they see somebody they like.
Being an actor has to be the weirdest job. Imagine being something in the imagination of ordinary people in China and all over the world
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2408611/BBC-challenge-Tardis-portable-toilet-firm-use-image-similar-machine.html
I hate companies who do that sort of thing. "Nah it's just a massive coincidence that the company logo is literally a police box coloured red and that the company name is Tardis. The logo is red! The Tardis isn't red! And lots of other companies use the name 'Tardis'!" Fuck off.
Well Tardis is a word now. It's in the dictionary and everything. Has been for a while. I've heard it in songs from the 90's. So BBC really has no claim on that. Any more than the makers of The Thick of It can sue every time somebody uses the word Omnishambles. But the logo is a dick move.
Using the word Tardis on its own isn't a problem, it's just that they're clearly using it in combination with the logo and with the idea that those toilet things look similar to the Tardis in the show, and then they try and pass it off as a coincidence or something. Basically they're not fooling anyone, and they're just acting like dicks.
Isn't TARDIS a registered trademark though?
But it becomes all sorts of complicated when a registered trademark becomes a word and embedded into culture. But no doubt the combination is a big no no.
Thinking of going on an Amazon binge as lots of the classic stories are going cheap, any recommendations?
Over a year since Asylum of the Daleks :v:
Out of interest, how many people here will be losing 'their' Doctor when Matt Smith leaves? Also - who is everyone's Doctors?
