Hurt's Baker-Style Sonic handle <3
So Outpost Skaro was right about him having a classic screwdriver. They said [sp]Capaldi will have one too[/sp]
Doctor Who on facebook at releasing images of The Day of the Doctor each day, probably behind the scenes.

Oh, I searched for them here and didn't see them. [editline]16th October 2013[/editline] Oh it was links.
Hurt does looks good as The Doctor. I can buy it without seeing him in action, which I don't think has ever applied to any Doctor ever. But I'm not looking forward to the inevitable regeneration scene where they use a poorly CGI-d shot of Chris from some unused Series 1 footage. [editline]16th October 2013[/editline] Actually who am I kidding, that will still be brilliant. The 50th could be a long wet fart starring Matt Smith, David Tennant and John Hurt and I think I'd still love it. I'm just so excited.
Yeah same, just seeing even part of the timewar (which we'll probably get) and David Tennant again is fine for me. I'm sure it will be more than that, but if it wasn't that'd be okay too. Also they could use the reversed footage of Christopher Eccleston's regeneration into David Tennant for it. :v:
I'd imagine if they include any kind of Hurt-Eccleston regeneration, it'll just show Hurt beginning to regenerate inside the console room, and then the camera would pull back between Tennant and Smith watching, before they turn around and start walking with the camera towards the TARDIS doors, they'll go through them (with Hurt still regenerating in the background) and close the doors, while talking about something to do with the episode. Or something completely irrelevant. But I doubt there'll be a regeneration at all, since Dan's said multiple times that Hurt Doc will be wiped by the end of it. [editline]16th October 2013[/editline] I mean, I have no idea how they'd wipe him and make it so that 9 still exists, but whatever :v:
People keep saying the Hurt Doctor will be wiped but how does that affect the majority of new-who? If the Hurt Doctor was wiped how would 8 go into 9? We don't know how 8 went into Hurt for a start so it's hard to say. If Hurt was gone how would 9/10/11 change? 9 and 10 would change LOADS! Would 9 have even met Rose? Would 9 have even been a thing? Who knows! You can't just wipe out the past like that - it would have way to many consequences. EDIT: I mostly agree with you on how they'd do the regeneration though, I posted my theory earlier - I'll see if I can find it.

Found my earlier theory:
I was thinking, and they could do John Hurt's regeneration to Chris like this: ''The Moment' has just been used and within Hurt's TARDIS 10, 11, Clara and Rose are standing there. Behind them is 11's respective TARDIS (10's TARDIS is within 11's - TARDISception). 'The Moment' required John Hurt to sacrifice himself absorbing energy or something (not creative but you get the basic idea). The Hurt Doctor's body starts to fail. He's holding onto the TARDIS console struggling. 11 and 10 look at each other and they both know what to do. They take the Hurt Doctor and hook him up to a machine not much unlike the the one that 10 used to rewrite his biology in Human Nature/Family of Blood. The companions ask what the two are doing and the Doctor's explain that they need to remove the memory of meeting the four of them (while still keeping the basic timewar memory in there) as it could mess up the time streams slightly what with Hurt already knowing Rose. Once the process is done they unhook him and they all stand back. John Hurt starts to regenerate. Radiation starts to spurt out of all his limbs and as he starts exploding with that energy the two Doctors and their companions get back into the TARDIS leaving him to regenerate. After the episode is apparently over, as 10 and Rose leave back to their own time stream, everything is fixed and all is well - there is one final scene at the end. In this scene we see one of the versions of the TARDIS circling out of control, down to earth. It crash lands on it's side in an empty place. The doors blast open and a bout of regeneration energy is seen and then dies down. The camera zooms out a bit and it is seen that the TARDIS has landed in a rose bed, and some Autons are outside it, watching. The final shot is a hand coming out of the TARDIS (that looks very similar to Christopher Eccleston's) and grabbing onto the side of the doors for support as if about to pull himself out. That's when the credits roll.'
See my only problem is, The Hurt Doctor dying and regenerating at the end is a little too expected right now. I'd like a bit more of a shock. I think if Hurt Doctor does redeem himself, 10 won't see it. Then his memory immediately prior to his regeneration could be lost as part of the regeneration process. That way 11 is the only one who knows Hurt redeemed himself. I think 11 will spend most of the story with the most knowledge. Any scene he has with 10/Hurt will be in his memory as he lived it before. It's the stuff he does away from the others that will test him most. PS Nick Briggs let slip at convention he's seen Capaldi in his new costume already. Many think he's preparing his costume this early to film a scene for the 50th. Others say it's proof filming starts November.
But then why would he act the way he did in The Name of the Doctor? He was still horrified by him. I think the shock will come in what Hurt does during the timewar, not how he ends up. I think there's more to it than just 'killing everyone'. I'm even starting to believe the theory that he stole regenerations.
Is that a woman almost out of frame of the 10 picture? Seems to be a lock of hair?
Is that a woman almost out of frame of the 10 picture? Seems to be a lock of hair?
The one in his TARDIS? Pretty sure that's the chair.
On closer inspection, it's a partially obscured roundel. :v:
So... Children in Need is on 15th November. Just over a week before the special. You think we'll be getting anything then?
That was my prediction for the prequel to arrive.
It'd be cool if this 10 was 10 straight after the Runaway Bride, and this teaches him not to be such a whiny little man bitch and get out there and find a new companion.
But then why would he act the way he did in The Name of the Doctor? He was still horrified by him.
Because he hasn't seen the redemption yet. You're forgetting, the 11 in The Name of the Doctor has yet to see the events of the 50th from the perspective of 11. He's only seen it from 10 & Hurt. If any redemption takes place he can be the only one who sees and recognises it. [editline]16th October 2013[/editline]
So... Children in Need is on 15th November. Just over a week before the special. You think we'll be getting anything then?
It's rare we don't get anything for Children in Need. Even had Christmas Special trailers then.
Because he hasn't seen the redemption yet
So you're saying the 11th Doctor will get the redemption on his own? I doubt that honestly.
So you're saying the 11th Doctor will get the redemption on his own? I doubt that honestly.
I think you've read something entirely wrong here and I'm not sure what. I'll try to explain better. Hurt Doctor does shitty thing Hurt Doctor regenerates into 9th Doctor with no memory of regeneration 9th Doctor is angry about the shitty things he did as Hurt Doctor so strips him of the title of Doctor. 9 becomes 10. 10 still hates Hurt Doctor. 10 meets his future self and watches Hurt Doctor do shitty thing 10 becomes 11 11 goes into his own timeline and see Hurt Doctor, makes it very clear he still hates him 11 meets with his past self and watches Hurt Doctor do shitty thing. 11 watches Hurt Doctor redeem himself 11 forgives Hurt Doctor at the end of the 50th. Hurt Doctor is redeemed. 10 doesn't see it. But he will one day find out when he becomes 11 and experiences it all for himself. Either way my point was 11 will know more by the end of this than the other Doctors. In the trailer he [sp]apologises to the Tenth Doctor for everything that's about to happen[/sp]. It will make an interesting dynamic. For the first time Ten won't be the smartest man in the room. Not yet.
Oh I see, 10 won't be there but 11 will. Where did you get that bit from the trailer? Have you seen it or did you read it somewhere? Only thing I've heard that's in the trailer concerning that is [sp]10: Sometimes I really wish I could know what's coming next. 11: You really don't.[/sp]

Doctor Who wibbly wobbly theories are so hard to explain in type.
I couldn't remember the exact quote but it's vaguely the same thing really. :L
Eh, not really. It depends when and how it's said. For all we know that quote that I posted literally comes at the end and happens just as he's leaving - it could be about 10's regeneration or something. Especially as trailers are MADE to be slightly deceiving, you gotta get inside their head man. :v:
Ben Daniels has revealed that he was behind Capaldi - having been asked to play the 12th Doctor. He said yes. If the Capaldi deal had fallen through, he could have been the frontrunner. Almost on the money, Dan. Almost on the money... http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s7/doctor-who/news/a523646/ben-daniels-talks-doctor-who-and-the-search-for-the-12th-doctor.html
In other Peter Capaldi related news. My lecturer tried to make a point today about how people have different concepts of celebrity and said in his eyes the biggest actor in Britain is Peter Capaldi. Not a single person in that room other than me knew who Peter Capaldi was. It was disgusting. Didn't know Richard E Grant either.
Doctor Who will be given a royal seal of approval just days before its 50th birthday when the Countess of Wessex hosts a party at Buckingham Palace. The Royal will throw the party on 18 November, just five days before the 50th anniversary on 23 November. The Palace has not confirmed who will be invited, but cast and crew members past and present are expected, a BBC source confirmed to RadioTimes.com.
http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2013-10-16/doctor-who-given-royal-seal-of-approval Woah.
As an anti-monarchist, I can safely say I would rather it didn't. Ah well, not like it means anything!
Is the 50th Anniversary trailer out yet?
