Is the 50th Anniversary trailer out yet?
nope
As an anti-monarchist, I can safely say I would rather it didn't. Ah well, not like it means anything!
why?
He doesn't like the millions of pounds of revenue the royals generate for the country. Or national identity.
I think being anti-monarchy really has nothing to do with some royals throwing a big Doctor Who party. No more than it matters to anybody if I threw a party. But when I throw a party I got no chance of Tom Baker popping round :(
let's make a kickstarter to throw a fp doctor who party with tom baker
He doesn't like the millions of pounds of revenue the royals generate for the country.
Now see you'd like to think that, but no.
The whole 'the tourism makes up for it' would be completely fair...
...if they didn't spend so much it mattered.
For example, travel costs for the Royal family in 2011 costed 6.1 million pounds.
The amount of money the queen spent in working year of 2011 - 2012? £32.3 million - and that's JUST the queen.
You'd need billions, not millions, to make them worth it. When talking about the profit nobody ever takes the figures they spend into account, only the money we put in and the money they bring back in.
I also just generally hate the idea of someone being born into a family and having to do no worthwhile work and yet still being showered with money while there are people in this country half starving and trying to get a job who are more talented and work harder than all of the royal family put together. Sorry if I don't want that to be the national identity of the country.
Not gonna talk any more on this subject because obviously most of you are for the monarchy - I just wish some other big organization did a Doctor Who party instead. I'm sick of hearing about the royals, people talk shit about the Kardashians (and rightfully so) but the Royals are just as bad.

You know I had a big paragraph just written out there to combat your responses and then I saw CoolCorky's post and I deleted it. There's no point arguing with you and there's no point arguing with me because the fact of the matter is is that neither side is going to change their point of view because some guy over the internet said so.

This video doesn't take into account the money that is lost through the tax exemptions of the royal family's massive land holdings that they only have because they stole them.

Wow I love the style of production. Characters dressed in bright colours in typical and dull environments. Oh man this is gonna be a work of art!

Say 30 Hail Marys and go to bed without dinner. Don't you dare come out of your room until you can recognise 2 of the most important people in Doctor Who history. Me and your mother are seriously considering putting you up for adoption for this, she's not stopped crying all day.

I'm sorry, British Dad. I have failed you overseas.
Tagged just in case it turns out to be accurate - but two GB users have now teased a trailer tomorrow.
[sp]Featuring all doctors and some funky CGI[/sp]
The most detailed of the users has accurately previewed such things in the past a few days before they have gone out. Between Strictly and Atlantis, we can hope this is the one.
50 years ago today -
The first broadcast episode, "An Unearthly Child", was recorded in Studio D, Lime Grove. But for the production team, this evening's momentous recording was overshadowed by the very real prospect of almost immediate cancellation!
Donald Baverstock, BBC1 Controller of Programmes, had decided that Doctor Who was too expensive and that only four episodes should be made... The battle between him and Sydney Newman would continue for some time, but it was a very worrying time for the production team.
The first question. Doctor Who?
Doctor Which?
Erm......8:21:05 for 60 secs, if you want to be precise about it!
But I want it now :(
oh my
Moffat on Capaldi's first scene filmed:
“It’s utterly bonkers! He still thinks he’s Matt Smith, but he looks like he’s Peter Capaldi. He’s adjusting to who he is. It’s a transitional phase.”
A bit like how 11 was acting like 10 in Eleventh Hour?

For people curious the guy who first revealed the whole "trailer after Strictly" thing this week (he revealed it about 4 days ago before everybody starting talking about it)
So I looked through his posts and found these interesting details. No major spoilers. A lot of stuff people could've (and already have) guessed to be fair.
Says this regarding the classic Doctors [sp]"certain announcements and things such as Davison doing the 'protest filming' were deliberate to stop people finding out about the extra minisode filming :)"[/sp]
And this regarding Clara's future: [sp]"plans are in place with ideas for clara's exit but it hasn't been written yet..."[/sp]
On Doc 12: [sp]"Almost the opposite of Matt and David really.. less emo, more Captain Nemo. And whoever said the series would be dark and gritty, they were close enough to be awarded a brownie point.. it will be a little different direction"[/sp]
And last month he wrote this description of the trailer. Doesn't sound like it has any clips from the episode really. And [sp]All Doctors[/sp] means [sp]Hurt, Tennant, and Smith[/sp]. I won't post it as it could be wrong or if it's right we can wait one more day. He said the trailer was 1.30 back in September, the one going out tomorrow is 60 seconds so they could be different?
[editline]18th October 2013[/editline]
He also says two trailers were signed off but only one tomorrow. We'll have a regeneration in November and December... apparently.
[sp]less emo[/sp]
[sp]I know Nine, Ten, and Eleven were all miffed about the Time War, but I don't think the show was dark enough to warrant it being called "emo". Unless it means something different in England or he's using a shortened form of "emotional".[/sp]
