Enjoy.
Worth reposting this comment I saw in the comment section:
Copied here from elsewhere, as this thing seems to be spreading like wildfire.) Ummm... NO, that is NOT "what Ron Grainer would have done with it". He couldn't have, for a start, as at least some of the technology we're hearing there didn't exist until 15 years later! That is what was done with it for an album release, after the public had already heard umpteen different versions anyway. It was quite common to utterly re-arrange themes in this way for compilation album release, especially if there was difficulty getting rights to the "official" version for the album, or if the original version was judged to be too short for an album track, or had just been too widely released already... You should hear some of the dire renditions of classic BBC themes that came out on their own albums over the years! There was in particular a trend for doing "disco-ised" versions of themes that were never meant for disco, of which this is clearly an example. Dead give away number one: There's no hint here of the distinctive bass line, which Ron Grainer definitely DID write on his original scrap of manuscript paper that was passed to Delia... Although the notation (to my interpretation at least) suggested something sliding back and forth between a rocky 4/4 beat and the more triplety (or 6/8) feel that Delia chose to stick to throughout. (I checked with Mark Ayres a while ago, and a tragedy of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop clearout is that said precious sheet of musical history went missing, and so far has not been relocated! =:o[ The closest you can get to actually seeing it these days is to get a copy of the first piano edition of the score. MY memory of it comes I think from either a photo in the Radio Times or a glimpse on a TV program back when the Radiophonic Workshop were celebrating their 21st anniversary: They got a lot of coverage on TV and Radio that year, plus an anniversary album of genuine, original RW recordings that included one of the two original edits of "Dr. Who", and which I think was the first time Delia (or any other individual RW composer) was actually credited for her work in a BBC product.) What we DO know was Ron's original expectation was to merge the radiophonic elements Delia was asked to provide with traditional instruments. (Direct quote: "I was going to book a band!") But on hearing what Delia had done, he realised the piece was complete and beautiful as it was, and asked for her to get co-credit. BBC policy blocked this. I'm getting a bit tired of the meme that's sprung up since Delia's death, that heavily implies that it was really all her genius that made "Dr. Who" and that it owes virtually nothing to Ron. It's great that Delia's getting the recognition she deserves at last, but the guy deserves better than that. They both did stellar work on that theme.
Pfft - Mr. YouTube Comment has taken all the fun out of it. **flails wildly in chair while visualising Pertwee in a speedboat, down the Thames**

That's plenty of time to meet her beforehand, then go back in time to when she was younger to gift her a bike, then come back to the present day. They went back to her as a baby in the "Father's Day" episode and the 10th Doctor went back to Rose in "The End of Time" before she even met the 9th Doctor.

And Nine couldn't possibly know if Ten gave her anything.
Oh god he looks at the camera, scene ruined
I think you guys are forgetting something - he's a time traveller. He could say that, then later at any point in time could go make sure it happens.
I read somewhere that originally Rose was going to have a relationship with the Doctor that stretched from her childhood. It was denied by the BBC but Moffat kept the idea because he liked it so much. He kept that line in there because of that, and then later when he became showrunner he had Amelia meet the Doctor when she was a child. And in the context of the show, what Freeze said. He could literally do it at any point. If I'm right, that's why.
Children in need doctor who: 7:30 Friday

The Doctor, Jack, and Rose land in Pompeii 79AD (linking into the discussion between Jack and The Doctor in the previous episode about Volcano-Day). Jack and The Doctor get on really well and Rose starts to feel left out. But then Jack (known then as Jax) begins to discover that The Doctor has been manipulating Rose's entire life in an attempt to create the perfect companion. Abbot dropped out as he had too much writing to do for Shameless and the hastily written Boom Town filled in.

I'd love to see a montage of Jon Pertwee kicking ass with that theme playing.
Saw an interesting theory on GB which links back to how the Zygons have previously captured others. They keep their heads covered. There's no evidence to indicate anything like it is actually happening in the special. But could body doubles & voice overs = 11 Doctors in one room? Even muffled voice overs to mask any lower quality audio they wish to use. If they want to maintain their "classic" appearances, that is. ** On a separate matter for 50th filming (NOT trailer talk) & Christmas stuff: [sp]Clara may return as a teacher of some description. This may tie in to the filming at Coal Hill School. It would also be suitably amusing as JC was told she looked too young to play a teacher in Waterloo Road. Perhaps this leads in to that Clara/Doctor spinny-hug in the trailer, which has the motorbike in the console room - presuming she rides to Coal Hill on that, which it would seem.[/sp]
New Promo Pics
Haha that last picture is gold. Somebody commented:
"I'm looking for a tree" "Well you certainly come to the right place"
Looking forward to the "John Hurt is looking for XXXX and has certainly come to the right place" meme.
One of the comments: While Ten and Eleven are acting all tough, Hurt whacks out an actual gun and matter-of-factly kills the soldiers. Ten and Eleven will not be happy. I really hope this is the case
I'm starting to think Rose is just a pigment of HurtDoctor's imagination. An effect of Bad Wolf, Rose sent a version of herself back in time to be with him when he needed her most. And in turn she sends him to the Tenth Doctor who has already hooked up with 11.
New Promo Pics
Rose looks really cool in that first picture. Very... Holy-looking, almost. Interesting to see that they've blurred out the license plate in the second, means it might be a plot point, or it's just gonna be a nice reference that they want to keep secret. Also, I love how Hurt's just like "oh, this is interesting" in the third one, whereas 10 and 11 are totally ready for a fight.

Made from recycled parts of Bessie
I didn't notice that! Looking at it now, it's probably "Who 1". Made from recycled parts of Bessie
if it was gonna have a number plate like that, it'd be Who 50
if it was gonna have a number plate like that, it'd be Who 50
bessie had 'Who 1' on it
bessie had 'Who 1' on it
yes, i know that but it's a nice opportunity to have 50 somewhere in the episode
yes, i know that but it's a nice opportunity to have 50 somewhere in the episode
but then it wouldn't be made out of recycled bessie parts as much :(
why are you so desperate for bessie to be ripped apart? :'(
