But then why is River's grave there?
It wasn't. I thought that it was stated pretty clearly that it was a fake...
Why is The Doctors timeline there? Why is a destroyed Eleventh Doctor TARDIS there?
Because that's apparently where he dies. Same questions there would be asked if it wasn't Gallifrey.
The whole universe seems interested in stopping the battle of Trenzalore ever happening. They locked him in the Pandorica to stop it. Time War was just the Daleks, Trenzalore no doubt had loads of species.
Of course, they don't want the timewar to COME BACK do they? The timewar pretty clearly didn't just involve Daleks and Timelords if (as the Night of the Doctor says) there's only some of the universe left, sure they might not have fought but it still involved them. All the gravestones would be for all the timelords.
..why would they change the name from Gallifrey to Trenzalore?
Because obviously the Doctor wouldn't want people KNOWING it was Gallifrey - if they knew that they could probably get some timelord DNA and as said in the Impossible Astronaut one single cell from a timelord could cause infinity disasters in the wrong hands.
This is fun, I love speculation and theory discussions. :v:
Is it not pretty conclusive that The Doctor would know if the planet still existed..
So that's where I end up....
What, your home planet? How fitting.
Is it not pretty conclusive that The Doctor would know if the planet still existed..
I don't understand how that changes things?
What, your home planet? How fitting.
Well I mean he probably didn't think he'd be burried there, especially if only he knew it was Gallifrey.
It wasn't. I thought that it was stated pretty clearly that it was a fake...

You're not really discussing your theory and speculation as you are insisting it's right.
Why would even a fake River grave be on Gallifrey? He left it years ago. Before he met River.
It was implied The Doctor died in battle. Those graves are from a battle that happened before he died. Not the Time War. So we can assume that battle destroyed Trenzalore.
Gallifrey would still be accessible before the Time War if only a certain chunk of it's history was time locked. It would still be there. The Time Lord Civilization would still be there.
Time isn't a straight line. The Doctor would have to enter his own time stream to... oh wait.
You're not really discussing your theory and speculation as you are insisting it's right.
Well I apologize if it's coming off that way, for clarification - I could be totally wrong! Infact I probably am wrong - but I like this theory and I'll defend it to both you and myself until we find out for sure, or it's proven wrong completely. :v:
Why would even a fake River grave be on Gallifrey? He left it years ago. Before he met River.
Time-travel. He (or someone else) could totally put it in afterwards.
It was implied The Doctor died in battle. Those graves are from a battle that happened before he died. Not the Time War. So we can assume that battle destroyed Trenzalore.
What if he 'dies' in battle during the 50th, on Gallifrey, in the timewar? The timewar then destroys Gallifrey - making it Trenzalore.
Gallifrey would still be accessible before the Time War if only a certain chunk of it's history was time locked. It would still be there. The Time Lord Civilization would still be there.
Wouldn't the Doctor just timelock the timelords in general to prevent them getting out? That means it'd timelock the earlier bits of it since the timelords were there, but not after since they were all dead.

Gallifrey has two "suns" and is located in Kasterborous. I think he'd notice if trenzalore was in the same place.
Gallifrey has two "suns" and is located in Kasterborous. I think he'd notice if trenzalore was in the same place.
Yeah, I definitely think he'd know what it is. Maybe others would notice, but maybe not considering Gallifrey was moved about during it (in the End of Time, and plus if they could move it then what's stopping them moving it about generally, as well as the two suns being possibly destroyed in the war honestly) and probably anyone close to it would have been blown up. A possible valid point though, I'll give you that.
WELL
THANKS FOR MENTIONING THAT TRAILER HAS THE COOL TARDIS ENTRANCE BRO.

I can't wait to see it in 3D. :v: There's always that..
EDIT: I saw that, Freeze. I saw it twice!
I can't wait to see it in 3D. :v: There's always that.
Yeah I'm sure you guys will still enjoy it! Don't spoil it or anything, but just tell me this: is it actually as cool as it's hyped up to be?

As "coolest entrance to the TARDIS" - quite possibly. A step up from The Snowman.
As "coolest entrance to the TARDIS" - quite possibly. A step up from The Snowman.
I saw that.
Not that I actually read it, but I still saw that it was a thing!

I'm not even going to think about watching a trailer in that kind of quality.

Here's a pretty big spoiler about the 50th that we already heard about (this was spoiled a few weeks ago), this time a direct quote from the episode via Timeboy: [I've snipped it, it's actually a massive spoiler I think I'd rather leave out, sorry Grizz]
NOPE. Pretty big spoiler we already knew about usually translates to what I didn't already know :v:
Also Eleven doesn't call HurtDoctor "Doctor" (obviously). He comes up with another name for him: [sp]Captain Grumpyface[/sp]
NOPE. Pretty big spoiler we already knew about usually translates to what I didn't already know :v:
Shit I'm sorry. I'll get rid of it. No need for anybody to know it now. 6 days away.
I'm trying not to read it, can't you spoiler tag it if it's that big? Don't want to be skimming and accidentally read it if it's big...
EDIT: Ah, you already took it out! Thank you. Didn't see that because.. well I wasn't gonna read it, was I? :v:
I didn't read it, it's all good :v: I just dare not trust the words "what we already knew" and "pretty big spoiler" in the same sentence. I already mistakenly bumped up that 3 minutes of known footage to 3.1 minutes of known footage. That's all for this week.
If anything was gonna be updated or changed, it would have been that - and it never, ever will be. It will always be a police telephone box. Nobody would be stupid enough to change that blue box.

Good luck, Stef.

Wow, all this Day of the Doctor stuff is overwhelming. I wonder how the Prisoners of Time comics are doing.
Oh, the preview for Issue #12 is up! How about a peak...
Ooh, oh my, this is cool.

Illustration quality aside, of course.
Yeah don't go on Gallifrey Base.
Timeboy has posted the pre-credits sequence and the plot twist before the ending. I've read enough. No more going there.
Non spoilery stuff:
-Clara has a fair bit to do, she's not relegated to background piece in favour of the Doctors. She has nicknames for all three of them.
-Pre-titles sequence is pretty jam packed.
-There is a picture of the ending on the net. A paper based publication published it on the day of the trailer and somebody scanned it in and it is out there. When I saw it I guessed the ending. It turns out I was right. Be careful.

If I had to guess (based on Christmas related spoilers) [sp]I would say he would intentionally sabotage his new TARDIS to be stuck as a police box again[/sp]
I think I'm going to start avoiding the thread slowly :v:
okay i'm now really paranoid. can we just stop spoiling day of the doctor in here now? even non spoilerly snippits like dan just posted are bad. it ruins a little bit of the magic.
I don't get why people post this stuff online, why do people try and spoil it for others?
I don't get why people post this stuff online, why do people try and spoil it for others?
ask dan. he does it a lot.
Coz I'm a dick. That is it though. I'm staying away from those websites.
But yeah do avoid Doctor Who websites. I've only seen the image in question on one site but it's worth avoiding.
