Oh man she's probably had sex with Human-10. Oh god The Doctor and Rose had sex! I have no idea why that thought unsettles me.
Oh man she's probably had sex with Human-10. Oh god The Doctor and Rose had sex! I have no idea why that thought unsettles me.
But that's not possible!
I thought this was some sort of Bad Wolf version of Rose and not the same one that was left with Human-10. Her eyes glow in bad wolf style in the trailer, her clothing is very Desert/War refugee and by the looks of the trailer she hangs out with John Hurt who is battling in the Timewar. Like how the heck did she even get there? Bad Wolf Rose i say.

Motherfucking John Hurt
Not only is he at Buckingham palace, but he's wearing a velvet suit and drinking champagne while casually leaning against a Dalek, while everyone else is standing to attention. What a badass.

John Hurt. Does not give a fuck.
Didn't even shave for royalty. This man is my hero. Winston Smith for life.

Nit-picking, but irritating.
Technically John Hurt has had "Doctor" put in his title now :v:
But Capaldi 12th Doctor allday erryday
EDIT: The Last Day may or may not be released on Sunday - before it's inclusion on the DVD release.
Not watching clips. Saving the moment
I do not understand you. You don't want to spoil that but you're okay with spoiling tons of stuff from The Day of the Doctor for yourself? wat :v:
I do not understand you. You don't want to spoil that but you're okay with spoiling tons of stuff from The Day of the Doctor for yourself? wat :v:
Avoided Day of the Doctor clips too, I don't want to physically see anything until the episode. It's like Christmas, I might want to know hints of what I've got for Christmas but I don't want to actually know. Spoilers can be true or false, you never know. Some can make you happy, some can make you mad.
They add a level of tension (for me). When you start to see the jigsaw fall into place and a spoiler is true, you KNOW what is coming. Oh the anticipation. You heard online rumours that Derek Jacobi is playing The Master but so far he's just been a nice old man. Then the watch comes out. Your heart starts to race, are the rumours true!? You don't know for certain until the "I AM THE MASTER" line is finally delivered. From the second the watch came out until he finally says "I AM THE MASTER" is unbearably tense. I scream. It's essentially a Whogasm.
It happened again this year, I heard rumours it's Capaldi. Then Matt Smith talking about the guy coming up to him and saying he enjoyed his first episode. So the new Doctor is a fan? Tension rises, my heart races. "Different from Matt" says Steven. Peter would be different from Matt. Tension rises. "Peter Eccleston". Tension rises. Uncertainty naturally settles in, my heart is beating a million miles. We get the shot of the hand. I whimper. That was an old man's hand. I'm going to burst. It can't possibly- "PETER CAPALDI". Whogasm. If I hadn't read rumours and spoilers, I only would've had a brief moment of joy when he came out, not the cathartic release of excitement from the building of tension. Same applies for The Master.
Then finally. The mini episode this year. We all heard the rumours, could they be true?! Could this be it? No way. Moffat hates us. Open with a ship crashing. Obviously I'm already tense. "I'm a Doctor". Whogasm (though suppressed as I'm surrounded by people). If I hadn't read spoilers and speculation, I would've tried to process so many thoughts instead of revelling in the reveal. It's how I enjoy the show.
But I don't want things ruined. I don't like leaks. I don't like clips that are out of context and not in the right mood. I like the excitement of not knowing what's coming and sort of knowing at the same time. It's how I enjoy Doctor Who. Without the months of debate would I have cared much for the found missing episodes? Would've been nice either way, but that was fun. Without the email-leak Matt was leaving would I have enjoyed his performance in 7B as much? Knowing somebody is going makes you appreciate them more.
It's what I like, man. Spoilers is a negative phrase, but in the right quantity, it enhances things for me.
For that reason, I bring you an interview with Moffat in the Guardian:
Feeling the pull of tradition, some fans had wanted to see all 11 Doctors somehow reunited, or at least the post-revival trio of Christopher Eccleston, Tennant and Smith. Such poly-Doctoral plans were scuppered when Eccleston declined to appear. Moffat had met him for a "very amiable and gentlemanly" conversation and the actor considered it "quite seriously" before saying no. "It's just not the sort of thing he does," concludes Moffat. "The ninth Doctor turns up for the battle but not the party. But Chris was perfectly sweet and kind about it. And contrary to what was written at the time he in no way messed us around."
Also another example of the show that gave me a "Whogasm". "INTRODUCING JOHN HURT AS THE DOCTOR". Which otherwise would've been baffling and irritating (as it was when we first read the spoiler).

In the same way I would read reviews of the album I've been anticipating, learning everything about the songs. But I won't listen to leaks or dodgy recordings.

A Prime TV trailer (a New Zealand channel) had the line: [sp]So you two are my replacements are you?[/sp]
Why not just called it The Three Doctors 2, Moffat? That line would've been great from Eccleston

That clears it up a bit, I understand now.
This is why I feel why we should have two threads sometimes. Two threads for two different discussions. One thread for rumours and spoilers, then another for only talking about the stuff we know from the BBC themself.
Overall that probably wouldn't work though.
Also, dat Guardian quote. Moffat talks as if he filmed a decent amount of scenes... 'The ninth Doctor turns up for the battle but not the party'

Eh us spoiler lovers just have to leave it out a bit. We can live with that.

If Last Day really does turn out to be [sp]Chris[/sp] which it is looking likely to be, do you think it's because [sp]Moffat approached him after the 50th asking if he'd changed his mind and he had?[/sp]
Can't believe this. The one thing I wanted from the 50th was a McGann regeneration. Now I feel like the impossible is about to happen.

[sp]From the Guardian quote, it seems like the ninth Doctor turns up to fight in the timewar a bit, and by him not showing up for the party Moffat means he doesn't join in in any of the pre-cursor Doctor on Doctor chats[/sp]

BBFC lists Last Day as including Hurt, Tennant, and Smith. I think Last Day [sp]will see Hurt regenerate into Chris and then have a few minutes of interplay between Eccleston, Smith, and Tenannt.[/sp]
That would be the perfect minisode.

It USED to list Hurt, Tennant, and Smith. They're gone now :O
All bets are off then

Apparently the Doctor Who thing on BBC 3 has a specially filmed clip.
Though I missed it. What was it?

The Doctor was supposed to be taking Clara on a proper holiday. Only he's screwed himself over trying to fix something and lost all his memories. Classic 11.

I believe it has been received to have been "better than expected." Heaps of Classic Who praise. Talking Heads that seem genuinely interested. Colin Baker and his pseudo-dick-ish approach to things :v: McGann being awesome throughout. I only reached The Master and had to record the rest. Nothing new for fans, of course. But still fun.
