A great actor. A great Who fan. Would be a great Doctor. Doctor 13? Probably not. Should've been War Doctor.
In my head I like to imagine he was too busy for War Doctor so they gave him GI instead.

I can't believe Doctor Who Week is a thing on Youtube. Neat.

"What would a bat do with a screwdriver?"

"The Day of The Doctor" Introduction
Warning: There are some enemies / props / CGI-related bits of information which you may want to avoid until the episode. The BBC are being quite silly about this. You shouldn't watch it Freeze, and others, if you don't want to know. The video image is even a spoiler - so don't click on the link if you want to go in blind.

Shocking.
I don't think I saw any of those spoilers on the net. So the episode is a little bit ruined. Though I did hear rumbles from a 100% reliable source that David Tennant will wear the [sp]space hat[/sp] throughout the episode.

Quite good?

Jenna-Louise Coleman talks more of Smith's exit
"I knew it was going to be sad, but it was really traumatic," Coleman said. "It was very emotional and overwhelming. Matt leaves, Peter arrives in his costume and the scene carries on. You just keep going - that's the show."
I kind of hope Matt regenerates while in the middle of doing something, and then Peter continues doing whatever it was without a word, only stopping to check himself out at the end of the episode.
wow why would the bbc upload the intro?
wow why would the bbc upload the intro?
I feel like I've earned my title today.
Have there been any more ident interruptions?
Can't believe they'd post the intro like that, really quite surprised.
I mean there's not necessarily anything wrong with it, but I'm still surprised.
edit: well played guys, was wondering why the doctor who twitter had tweeted about david tennant and not the intro :v:

Incidentally, "The Fake of The Doctor" is the name of Capaldi's first episode. It's followed by "The Truth of The Doctor", "The Tooth of The Doctor", "The Dog of The Doctor" and concluded by series 8 finale, "The Tortured Analogy of The Doctor"
I'm glad that this is happening on the Saturday, since I have work on Friday, and my Saturday is free.

Today I found this image. It's a group of Doctor Who fans in 1984!
One of them is the principal lecturer at my university! He's a highly regarded academic across Europe, here he is all baby faced in the 80's. I was googling him when we found the image. Doctor Who fan community before the internet. Also the guy on the far left is Doctor Who author Justin Richards!
Back then people couldn't post thoughts online so fanzines are how people discussed theories and the show itself. A lot of people wrote for fanzines. My lecturer actually ran a successful one although according to one website he had a reputation as a person you either loved or hated. I should note my lecturer has told me none of this, he's actually a private man who probably doesn't know this image is on the web, but a lot of fans from the 80's often write about him. He was a memorable character to these people. 30 years later and they still remember eachother. That's mad!
This is essentially us in 1984. We're a community of people who love Doctor Who. We post our opinions. We've got to know eachother. In 30 years we'll still remember eachother and wonder what happened to everybody. You'll say "Oh that Dan2593 loved his spoilers and long posts about things he thought of that nobody else cared about", "Bloody hell that ElectronicG19 was often pissed off", "God that Grizz really loved Jenna Louise Coleman. It's a shame she kidnapped her, put her in the boot, and drove off a bridge", and "Remember that Freeze guy who was younger than most of us. He was a happy little optimist with a cool dad, just didn't like spoilers". I can't keep going on or this post will be huge.
But just like those fans above in 1984 we will always remember Doctor Who, and as a result eachother. I think that's cool. Doctor Who brings likeminded people together. It has done for decades. I think that's often overlooked in this anniversary year as people focus on the show, but not the effects it had on the people who loved it.
