justin richards is really good from what i've read of his the resurrection casket is my favourite doctor who audiobook/book and apollo 23 is also really good
that warmed the cockles of my heart. i'll probably remember this thread when im watching doctor who with my kids in 20 years time. but i'll forget grizz. fuck grizz.
We'll always have the TARDIS.
Word on the street is after his first episode Capaldi is dark. Series 8 is gothic. A Hinchcliffe vibe. Apparently they actually had a writers room meeting too. Moffat has always opposed those in the past saying they're not how Doctor Who should be made. But all the writers and Moffat were in a room together carefully plotting the series. Every reveal, every twist, every episode solution. Each writer pitching in with ideas. Is this a result of the BBC stepping in after the varying-quality of Series 6 & 7? That's what we were told was going to happen. Seems odd Moffat has supposedly back peddled on the writing room idea. Maybe Series 8 is a lot more serialised than ever before. He opposed writing rooms so each story feels different. Maybe he wants Series 8 to feel the same throughout. It seems more and more than Series 8 is going to be the most carefully executed and cared for series since 2005.
I like that rumor. It sounds like something the series needs right now.

Out of interest, which episodes do you guys think Moffat will write for Series 8 other than the first and the finale?
I don't post enough in this thread.
Oh FUCK OH FUCK OH FUFCCKKCKCCKC [sp]Tom Baker confirmed in an interview with Huffington Post that he is returning in the 50th[/sp] If you don't want to see it, turn off the internet, avoid newspapers. Go now. An actor just dropped a major 50th spoiler/surprise. It's about to blow up. Run before you see it.
but what if this is another troll? :(
but what if this is another troll? :(
Freeze, you were worried about spoilers. It's time to cut and run my friend. You might still avoid it. But it's legit. Somebody on GB has been hinting at it all day [sp](even specifying his role)[/sp] and now it's out. Best bit is, he can't even get in trouble for leaking it. I mean, would you tell him off? An inside on GB has warned us to not get too excited though because he is [sp]eighty years old. He couldn't do much. But they got him to do something[/sp]
Freeze, you were worried about spoilers. It's time to cut and run my friend. You might still avoid it.
Last time someone said something like that it turned out to be a massive joke, how do I know this isn't? :v: EDIT: from your post it sounds like you're talking about christopher eccleston, but i could be wrong
Last time someone said something like that it turned out to be a massive joke, how do I know this isn't? :v:
Not a joke. Honestly. It's your fault if you hang around the internet much more. Somebody has made an innocent mistake and revealed something very exciting. Most publications will run with it. Some with leave it out of respect. Surprised Huffington Post went with it. I mean seriously, it's annoying [sp]that 4 days before the special this surprise gets ruined. You can't blame Tom. He's an 80 year old man. He's made an innocent mistake. But the important thing is, he's happy with his part.[/sp] [editline]19th November 2013[/editline]
EDIT: from your post it sounds like you're talking about christopher eccleston, but i could be wrong
You could be wrong.
alright then, even if im right i dont want it 100% confirmed i'll probably leave this thread for now then.. maybe.. we'll see if i do it :v: either way I never go on news sites or really anywhere else that would have the info anyway so this thread is the only danger, i'm trusting you that this isn't a joke and if it is.. well ill probably explode edit: my prediction would be is that john hurt was talking about it and then he refered to chris being in it, but that's just a guess

You're going to have so much fun come Saturday if you can keep the surprises away.
So..Tempted..To..Click I might have to avoid life for 4 days. FUCK, THOSE BLACK BARS ARE SO TEMPTING
You know, that's the first Dan-posted spoiler I've actually refrained from clicking on. Avoiding the news tomorrow (and until Saturday) will be fun.
oh, i read it accidentally fml not that bad of a spoiler really. i mean, it kinda is but. yeah. don't click it. edit: yeah, get the fuck off the internet while you still can, Freeze. this is gonna be everywhere.
Well, I can safely say I restrained myself for a whole twenty minutes - a new record.
Shit. I clicked. Man, the theater is gonna go wiiiiiiild.
Knowing how some Who fans can get, I probably won't watch in a cinema.
I don't have tickets or a tv license so I'll be watching it about an hour late.
It's just that Dan has a way of posting spoilers. You see the avatar, and you're like "oh boy what does he have on store for me today". Then the bold words preceding the intriguing black bar. But it's not the black bar that teases you. It's what's outside the black bar. Words like "oh fuck", or "this changes everything" or "blow up" or "mind blowing" or "fantastic". You hold back your finger. You know you shouldn't look. The surprise should be worth it. But you can't help yourself. It's like the words outside of the black bar twist and form into a beautiful figure you can't help but click. You have to click it. The words beg you. It's their only reason to exist. Press me. PRESS ME. PRESSSSS MEEEEEE. You press it. You read the spoiler. Your life changes forever. That is how Dan posts spoilers.
if i squint really hard, your avatar matches up with the last sentence
I... I resisted it! I've never done that before, I always click spoilers!
I click everything.
I wanna press it so badly Dan, why do you do this to us [editline]20th November 2013[/editline] Well that wasn't too bad. I mean spoilerific as hell but it could mesn anything in the long run.
Shit. I clicked. Man, the theater is gonna go wiiiiiiild.
I trust that fans will not be whooping for ten minutes straight. But I will. It wasn't even Dan for me on this occasion. DigitalSpy ran the story :v: *** The Last Day Minisode - available on iTunes
First day on the front line? Time to attach a Headcam for a soldier's point-of-view. What could possibly go wrong?
Part of the 50th anniversary collection *** Smith & Tennant DS Interview http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s7/doctor-who/news/a532295/matt-smith-david-tennant-on-doctor-who-50th-its-the-best-weve-done.html
Can't believe that guy lied about Eccleston being in Last Day. What a tool. [editline]20th November 2013[/editline] WILLIAM SHATNER. Hey kids. [editline]20th November 2013[/editline] Oh as expected everybody ran that story. But only two are putting it in the headline. [editline]20th November 2013[/editline] https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=525421650886316 The William Hartnell recovered interview is online here. It's shocking. He was a REALLY good actor.
I don't know yet, but I give it a few hours until the Twitter spoiler bots show up and tweet it at everyone mentioning "Doctor Who".
