You missed the point. [sp]He solved one genocide, but there's another one coming[/sp]
Except that's not the point of this episode at all. The point of this episode was to show the darkest moment of the Doctor, the one thing about himself he hates. Turns out [sp] it never actually happened. If they didn't allow it to actually happen for the Time war, one of the most important events, nothing at all suggests anything bad will happen at Trenzalore. Everyone will live, just like this episode.[/sp]
To be fair we all knew that he wasn't going to kill them all because the David tennant finale showed them return from the time lock.
The after party is great.
"Life sized cardboard standees of all 12 Doctors now available at Forbidden Planet"
Surely they could have at least put Paul Mcgann in his costume for that. [sp]I think I remember the War Doctor saying that he wouldn't remember any of it. So I think as far as retcons go, he doesn't remember that he didn't use the Moment. It's Lake Silencio all over again. Onlookers see the same events unfolding, but the actuality is different.[/sp]
So, will the christmas special be [sp] a direct follow up to the series 7 finale? This episode didn't follow directly on after that, did it?[/sp]
God Damnit Moffat...
So, I just woke up. How was the episode? (spoiler free please <3)
Was kind of hoping [sp]the Doctor speaking to him at the end was Capaldi. So that 11 could have a conversation about how he's about to die and such. But seeing Tom Baker was amazing anyway.[/sp]
ROFL AT THE DOCTOR WHO LIVE THING Haha that echo talking to one direction
ROFL AT THE DOCTOR WHO LIVE THING Haha that echo talking to one direction
My volume is turned down right now.
the fucking delay on bbc3's live feed with one direction is killing me
That was fucking incredible. That episode just changed[sp] the entire direction of[/sp] Doctor Who in 1 hour (and a half?).
And Moffat strikes out again. Seriously, how did he get that job?
My volume is turned down right now.
Imagine talking to someone over skype and you both have no headphones, just speakers. Yeah that echo haha
As well, [sp]the entire rewriting of the Time War is brilliant because that is how it happened and it's in line with the Doctor's character. I think it was brilliant, because only Smith's Doctor realizes that fact. He's always been The Doctor, and he's always held that promise. [/sp]

Due to the fact that all of them are Doctors except for John Hurt, does this mean we call him the 9th, Chris the 10th, David the 11th and Matt the 12th? [sp]Also since in the episode they give him the right to the title again?[/sp]
Anyone? Also I am going to buy this film/episode on Blu-ray when it comes out.

So [sp]What happens to The Master now[/sp]
THE DESTRUCTION OF THE TIMELORDS IS A LIE, MADE BY THE DOCTOR, IT IS ALL A CONSPIRACY, WE KNOW THE TRUTH WWW.TIMEWAR-TRUTH.ORG
Alex Kingston's make-up is horrible.
Anyone? Also I am going to buy this film/episode on Blu-ray when it comes out.
No because Hurt Doctor technically wasn't a Doctor. He doesn't remember being one. Also there's [sp]more surprises to come regarding the amount of Doctors.[/sp]
Also, I just realized [sp]Tennant's last line in Doctor Who is still the same as it was.[/sp] :v:
Jesus you guys talking about the 50th, step it up.
that pre and post show was terrible
I thought it was great. My Dad nearly backflipped when he saw [sp]Capaldi and Baker[/sp]
No because Hurt Doctor technically wasn't a Doctor. He doesn't remember being one. Also there's [sp]more surprises to come regarding the amount of Doctors.[/sp]
Could you explain?
The afterparty in BBC3 is accidentally hilarious. They just tried to live-link to One Direction. It went so wrong, Steven Moffat looked ashamed.
From somebody whose seen the spoilers (the same ones that told me [sp]Peter Capaldi and the other Doctors fly in to end the Time War[/sp] and [sp]Tom Baker appears as a curator at the end[/sp]), trust me, something bad will [sp]happen at Trenzalore[/sp].
Aye; that part's hardly spoilers since we've already seen the aftermath of what happened, and judging by the peek of the Christmas special, all those monsters, it is NOT going to end well...
After thinking about it some more, i don't really think that was too good an episode storywise. [sp] The Zygon plot was just solved offscreen without any real mention and wasn't actually needed, UNIT was kinda pointless as well and didn't really do anything at all, the scenes of the Timewar were disappointing and the one dark moment of the Doctor has now been completely retconned. Every time in an episode where the Time war has been mentioned is now meaningless. [/sp] They ruined all the Mystery. For example, this whole scene is completely irrelevant now: Instead, it's an "Everybody lives!" now (Except the Daleks). It seems like the only thing this latest episode good was the constant references to the previous Doctors.
I despised the episode, [sp]they just took RTD's time war plot and threw it into the bin, thus destroying it's significance[/sp]
I despised the episode, [sp]they just took RTD's time war plot and threw it into the bin, thus destroying it's significance[/sp]
Exactly, thank you
