Turns out [sp] it never actually happened. If they didn't allow it to actually happen for the Time war, one of the most important events, nothing at all suggests anything bad will happen at Trenzalore. Everyone will live, just like this episode.[/sp]
To be fair we all knew that he wasn't going to kill them all because the David tennant finale showed them return from the time lock.

Was kind of hoping [sp]the Doctor speaking to him at the end was Capaldi. So that 11 could have a conversation about how he's about to die and such. But seeing Tom Baker was amazing anyway.[/sp]

As well, [sp]the entire rewriting of the Time War is brilliant because that is how it happened and it's in line with the Doctor's character. I think it was brilliant, because only Smith's Doctor realizes that fact. He's always been The Doctor, and he's always held that promise. [/sp]

Aye; that part's hardly spoilers since we've already seen the aftermath of what happened, and judging by the peek of the Christmas special, all those monsters, it is NOT going to end well...
