Awesome!
I hate to bring the mood down.. But a few weeks ago somebody said Tom was in the special as a "curator", and people should enjoy it as he's not well. Trackboy also tweeted that Tom is really not well, his appearance is more of a goodbye and goodluck. It's why he's finally recording some audio books with Romana II. He still hates Llala Ward. They recorded all their lines on separate days so Tom could avoid her. But he thought it was finally time to do it for the fans.
7.6 million people still watched X-factor, if the Australian version is anything to base the UK one off then it's kind of sad people actually watch it. Anyway, just rewatched the Day of the Doctor again, I really liked it, but probably didn't love it. [sp]The thing with the Zygons going unsolved really bugged me. I loved how time travel was handled, with all the mathematical equations being solved through the doctor's time spans. John Hurt was great, he wasn't broody and dark as I thought he would be, and actually stole the show a bit with remarks about new Who. I'm surprised at the lack of River Song but I don't really like her in the first place. The ending with all the doctors zapping Gallifrey away is glorious cheesy fanwank and I think it could have been a lot better if Moffat didn't write the ending. His endings normally suck anyway. also dat last minute appearance from Tom Baker[/sp]

I think the goodbye in Name of the Doctor was always going to be the end of River.
That was great I really loved the banter between the doctors
I'm enjoying the reactions from the FANLIEST OF SCENES (the first one, the one before the MOST FANLIEST OF SCENES) http://youtu.be/WBbjjc4FJh8?t=10m45s
That was great I really loved the banter between the doctors
[sp]ALL THIRTEEN of them[/sp] :v: [sp]Glad all Doctors were credited as "The Doctor" at the end. Fantastic sight[/sp]

That guy looks like a cool dude. "PETer [brief excitement before suddenly trying to pay attention to the episode again]" He totally counts wrong at the end, but he's half right.
The biggest thing that bugs me, which is something that's plagued Moffat's run and really needs to be addressed, is the magical Sonic Screwdriver, which does literally anything the writer wants it to at the time. I just wish it could stick to opening doors and accessing computers. Half the time these days it's a magic space gun.
I'm hoping that in Series 8 that just as Clara starts to think it's the same Doctor as always- Capaldi snaps it in half
I would love to see them do at least one season without the Sonic Screwdriver. Or at least being stuck with a gimped version that can only open doors.
Mm, I think I heard they've redesigned The Sonic for Capaldi. So he has one. But I'd like to see him use his intellect a bit more. Less magic-button pushes too. I liked how this one introduces the idea of The Doctor starting something as an earlier incarnation and finishing it as a later incarnation. Only for it to fail and then be used effectively in the ending. If it didn't get introduced earlier with the Screwdrivers, the ending would've seemed like a cop-out. I did like in this episode how it nearly used the Screwdriver as a magic wand to dissolve a door, then it turned out it didn't need to be done at all. There was a much easier solution if The Doctor didn't instantly revert to his Screwdriver. I felt like that was a dig at how he overuses the screwdriver. Also Hurt telling them they wave it around like a wand. Also using it to "reverse the polarity". What a great throwback.
Yeah, I cried. Twice. Beautiful. — Neil Gaiman (@neilhimself) [editline]24th November 2013[/editline] "Hope the ears are a bit less conspicuous this time."
John Hurt was a really great Doctor. I can't even chose a favourite anymore. Even if I tried. But I think Capaldi is going to really be something special.

I loved John Hurt's line about them pointing the screwdrivers around hahaha: "They're screwdrivers. What are you going to do, assemble a cabinet at them?"
Spoilery DOTD: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y190/1701a2/Image2.jpg For the Eccleston fans: [sp]Those are his eyes and forehead[/sp] Moffat apparently admitted yesterday that Hurt was drafted in to replace Chris. How good it could've been.
Did you guys not notice the piece of blue board at the start of the episode? It had I.M.Foreman or something like it, I know it has Foreman on it, why does this matter? Susan Foreman, and the door to the garbage dump had Foreman on it if I remember. Foreman" scrapyard sign. A police office walking by. Same school Susan went to, Clara now teaches at.

It would've been amazing to see 9, 10, and 11 bickering. I'm glad he considered it. Gutted he didn't. He's essentially the modern day Tom Baker. Refusing to take part. Will one day regret it.
When Peter is dreaming in the Fiveish Doctors, is that Tegan waking him up? [editline]24th November 2013[/editline]
Not sarcasm. As previously speculated the whole thing was made up and added to the end of Name of the Doctor. We would've got McGann regenerate into Eccleston in Night of the Doctor. And Day of the Doctor would've ended with 9 going off in his TARDIS. It would've been 9 about to activate The Moment when a fez falls out of the sky. Fantastic. What Dan is saying is that John Hurt wouldn't be in it at all if Chris had taken part.

The original plan was for there to be no Hurt. Hurt was only written in when Chris dropped out. The episode was just Chris, David, and Matt. No ageing backwards or anything.
Hartnell was old, too.

Yeah I would of loved Chris to be in it, really sad he wasn't.
Why does he hate Llala Ward?
They divorced after 16 months. They didn't get along very well.
The bit where he says 'And for my next trick' is one of my favourite parts and that was an old clip.
