I imagine the first thing newly-regenerated Capaldi will do (i.e. between the Christmas special and the start of S8) is go back and help the Doctors freeze Gallifrey.

-Time Lords are back
-Capaldi is angry
-He's finally over the Time War
-Now that the Doctor no longer committed genocide he can go back to horribly murdering aliens
-The Master is more than likely coming back

the special made me realise how much i miss david tennant as the doctor
he was so great
i loved when he started to go all "oncoming storm" to the rabbit. moffat really knows how to rip it into RTD.
I really really loved when the 10th era music played when he was first shown.

For somebody who wasn't called The Doctor, he had the most names involving the word "Doctor".
Maybe just due to the writing, but Matt Smith, while a good Doctor, swung a little too far into silly too much of the time, which hurt the show slightly when he was being serious. A finer balance needed to be struck.

He's got the most evil looking eyes in the history of actors.
Genius idea to take this evil-looking man (who specialises in playing powerful unfriendly characters) and cast him as The Doctor. Completely different to the 11 men before him.
