The casting for Pertwee and Troughton isn't very good (AAITAS)
3rd Doctor is better casted than 2nd.
I love David Bradley. 1st doctor stories with him would work for me.
I wonder what the Silence/Silents are going to be doing in the next episode.
Is it assumed that the Christmas Special is the thing they were trying to prevent? Or was it him opening his tomb in NotD?
I would have said both - just at different times - but if "Name" has already happened for The Doctor - it's a bit late to prevent that.
So something different. The tomb must have been a massive Moffat red herring.
Or Trenzalore is Gallifrey - right, Freeze? :v:
yes
I'm still waiting for someone to edit the Night of the Doctor minisode to have the Sisterhood leader say "Big or small? Man or woman? Leader or FANTASTIC?" just to have 8 drink it and turn into FANTASTIC.

this wins everything ever holy shit
I wonder if they would ever consider doing a show in a decade or two about how Doctor Who came to be revived. Start off at end of the 80s with the show struggling and being axed, then move onto the TV film and show that failing then fast forward time to Russell T Davies pitching the revival and all the things that went on behind the scenes.
What could the nightmare behind The Doctor's door be?
It sounds like the TARDIS cloister bell. Is the TARDIS dying? Or The Doctor is about to die as he finally runs out of regenerations?
Someone suggested it could've been the Hurt Doctor using the Moment, but I'm unsure where the cloister bell would come into it.
Regarding an 8th Doctor spin-off, it would be a perfect show to replace Torchwood. Slightly lower budget, slightly darker in tone (as a lot of 8th Doctor stories were) and the fans would LOVE IT.
I suppose the only problem with it would be marketing. Those who aren't fully invested in the series' continuity would probably be extremely confused as to who this 'other' Doctor is.
I just would make him a supporting character, not the focus. Otherwise it mayswell be Doctor Who.

I don't know why. But if a show like that ever came onto our screens then I'd love to see a companion that eventually turns into an enemy of the Doctor. I doubt it would be a companion found on Earth if that were to happen.
Only bad thing about the 50th was no Shalka Doctor.
Christmas is now #CapalDay
To be honest, I'd like a story every now and then to feature The Doctor visiting somewhere he visited as his 8th incarnation. As we the viewer slowly uncover a great secret The Doctor has kept from way back in his 8th life, pieces of it coming together every time an 8th Doctor related story pops up.
So the episode could have flash backs, or the Doctor watching security footage of his 8th self. An excuse to get McGann in his costume again doing things. Using "The Wilderness years" of Doctor Who to the best potential. While still keeping the current Doctor being the centre of the action.

That would also work.
Hell, why not have a UNIT spin-off show? With various Doctors cropping up now and again to provide support?

Bradley played a great Hartnall, but not a very good First Doctor. I think that's the magic of the actors, nobody will ever capture that performance in the same way they did. It's like a finger print- totally unique. It's nice that this would happen in the 50th year, getting renowned actors to cosplay iconic Doctor Who scenes.
He deserves awards for that Hartnall though.
It felt like he didn't really study the scene that much since it was an extra honestly. Some of the timings are just.. off.
The reason he was a good Hartnall was because we didn't know Hartnall anywhere near as much as we know the first Doctor. Still great acting though.
EDIT: Also I'm pretty sure behind the Doctor's door is just himself (in the TARDIS) in general.

Well that's going to be a pretty boring reveal in The Time of the Doctor. If Moffat says we'll see it, I imagine it's something worth seeing!

Apparently the art from the back of the DVD
Wonder how that cyberman head is going to play a part in the special.
Clock hands reaching 12. Nice.
Also notice that the clock tower has been in both posters now. So that rumour of [sp]the regeneration taking place when the clock strikes 12[/sp] may yet be true.
