Rumour: Power of the Daleks was apparently shown at a screening this week (KEEP CALM, IT'S ONLY THE MOST WANTED MISSING EPISODE OF ALL TIME)
Is The Power of the Daleks the only Troughton Dalek story?
No. One of two. Considered one of the best stories. Troughton's first ever story.
Nope, Evil of the Daleks is also a Troughton Dalek Story
oo I'd be interested to see how Troughton is just after his regeneration.
oo I'd be interested to see how Troughton is just after his regeneration.
The audio for the episode still exists. He's a little bit dazed and confused at first, but pretty quickly gets into the swing of things. Though interestingly enough, he refers to his predecessor as "The Doctor", in third-person.
There are some reconstructions out there, using the soundtrack (which survived) and pictures.
Rumour: Power of the Daleks was apparently shown at a screening this week (KEEP CALM, IT'S ONLY THE MOST WANTED MISSING EPISODE OF ALL TIME)
Now that sounds cool. That's the one with The Human Factor Daleks, yeah? SOunds interesting after I loved the "Children of the Revolution" sequel DWM did for it during the 8th Doctor run. EDIT: Fuck, no, damnit, Power is 2's Regeneration recovery story, sorry.
oo I'd be interested to see how Troughton is just after his regeneration.
The remaining footage from the episode shows off a little of how he acts just after he regenerates. One of his companions believes that the Troughton Doctor is an impostor.
Worth noting that the above footage was recorded off screen the day it broadcasted. First Doctor before regenerating: this old body of mine is wearing a bit thin Hurt Doctor before regenerating: ...wearing a bit thin...
Kayvan Novak is voicing [sp]Handles[/sp] in the special.
John Hurt being wonderful: Eccleston is once again the only living Doctor who doesn't sit and sign autographs for Doctor Who fans.

Been re-watching the special since the DVD came today and Elizabeth clearly says in the letter 'in this capacity, I have appointed you curator of the under gallery'.
he did that once the memories are still ingrained in my brain thousands of people, screaming, writhing on their ground on their faces, the mark of a demon, a terrifying smile and they cannot breathe, they cannot scream, all they can do is whisper fantastic
And all these years I thought he refused to do signings because he doesn't like charging people for his time.
He's not refusing signings because he doesn't like fans He's refusing signings because he doesn't want to hurt anyone
There was an interview somewhere where he said something along the lines of that he'll do it for fans or for charity but if you're just gonna sell it on he won't. He's stopped now though. Slowly grew a dislike for it even more I suppose. :v [editline]7th December 2013[/editline] Never noticed that this guy was in the black archive.

If you catch him at a stage door or send it to him he'll sign. If you specify it's for charity he'll just sign it as "Christopher Eccleston". Otherwise he'll sign it "to X, best wishes Christopher Eccleston (The Doctor)" if it's a Doctor Who picture. Though if you send him Doctor Who pictures he is known to take them out and send you back something else. Depends on his mood I guess. [editline]7th December 2013[/editline] 21st December 2013 is the 50th anniversary of the Daleks. Wouldn't it be nice if they suddenly released a previously missing Dalek story on iTunes.... [editline]7th December 2013[/editline] Capaldi is excited. Says he's 1995 years too young to play The Doctor. The 12th Doctor is 2050 years old? Hmm
I suspect the Christmas special will end with Capaldi flying off to Galifrey to do the 50th anniversary helping. Before it coming a line '... but first I've got some business to attend to' or something to that attire.
I suspect the Christmas special will end with Capaldi flying off to Galifrey to do the 50th anniversary helping.
Do we need to see that? We didn't see it for 9 of the other Doctors.
Do we need to see that? We didn't see it for 9 of the other Doctors.
We definitely don't need to see it but it'd be nice, don't you think? The Christmas special ending with a TARDIS flying across the screen to gallifrey. EDIT: Especially if it was along with the other ones - sort of like a welcoming to the new Doctor from the old ones but not really. :v: EDIT2: Also, how long ago was that footage taken? If it was recent I knew he would be getting a haircut. Like I said - he'll probably be having the puffier hair for the regeneration and then gets a haircut for Series 8. In the 50th he had the puffy hair so having him going off to do it at the end of the Christmas special would make sense for it continuity wise.
but puffy hair is awesome on him :( [editline]7th December 2013[/editline]
Says he's 1995 years too young to play The Doctor. The 12th Doctor is 2050 years old? Hmm
11 sure loves to take time off :v:
The hair has more than enough time to get puffier again.
Hmmm, good catch. Also, does anyone remember the Night of the Doctor special?
Why wouldn't we?
Everybody does :v:
Hmmm, good catch. Also, does anyone remember the Night of the Doctor special?
No. I've completely forgot about the most exciting thing I've ever wanted happening.
Am I a bit of snob for not wanting to watch or otherwise listen to episodes that are otherwise incomplete? I had a bad experience watching The Invasion, the animated reconstruction really killed the immersion going from episode 3 to 4.
everyone was such a dick to john frobisher in children of earth, i feel so bad for him watching it back
