I liked a lot of the individual episodes of S6 especially The Girl Who Waited, but the overarching story has been my least favourite. If I'm being honest, the opening two parter is one of my least favourite parts of that series, it felt a bit off and poorly paced to me. Each to their own I suppose.
That said, I still enjoyed the series. I'm easily pleased, even if I am critical of it.

I'm kind of hoping that the search for Gallifrey isn't just a series 8 thing. It would be good if it's the over-arching theme of Capaldi's entire tenure as The Doctor, much like the whole 'silence will fall' thing was the theme of Matt's.

Ben Daniels is a fantastic actor. It's interesting to know that he was second choice for 12, I imagine Capaldi was really really good to beat him to it. I hope Ben can try again one day.

3rd series is some of the best TV ever. 1st and 2nd are OK. 4th had an amazing concept but ruined it.
