I feel like I missed a detail, but how come the Doctor can't visit Amy and Rory? I mean, sure, he can't bring them anywhere. I'll agree on that. And he can't land in New York, fine. But couldn't he land outside the city and meet them in that time if he, I dunno, took a cab into the actual city and street they lived at? Or would that destroy the universe as well? :v:

And if that doesn't work, pull a back to the future and have the Doctor sending letters 10 years prior to them arriving in the city forever and them sending letters to a PO box or something in a random town.

You can still see him taking on very Eccleston-like features just before the scene cuts in the actual episode. I doubt the next several showrunners will try to take advantage of an "incomplete regeneration scene".

If they're filming - I hope it's a concept trailer for the end of the Christmas Special. We can't have actual footage, so it's just that extra reassurance before the break. The S5 trailer after 10's regeneration worked wonders.
