As Capaldi's such a huge fan of the show, I can't imagine him wanting to leave for at least a few years. The only reason I could imagine him leaving early is if the role turns out to be too exhausting for him. As a true fan of the show, he would probably sooner let another actor take over in that case than risk stuffing up his part and harming the quality of the show as a result.
"umm this line right here" -Capaldi

People are suggesting that since the Daleks lost all memory of the Doctor, that the Daleks might end up being allies in the special... interesting.
The Daleks losing all memory of the Doctor through a hive-mind out of nowhere that's done with such ease you'd wonder why he'd never done it before was stupid.
And Moffat didn't even really do anything with the idea in the time since.
tardis wiki thinks that this is a reference to Doom just because the A is Stylized like the UAC symbol :v: Then they mention a later episode uses the 'Doom Door Sounds' which IIRC are just from a sound library.

Probably a more interesting line to have than one may think. I want to see it used an escape mechanism.
EDIT: Omg. Look at Matt during the sonic clip.

This is why I am excited for Capaldi, he should bring some things from the old show for classic doctor who fans, and bringing new things in for reboot fans and future fans.
I really do hope he does try and get some old Doctor Who things in, and stop using the screwdriver all the time like the previous 2. David didn't really do it as much till later on, around series 4 but Matt really does it all the time and it is really annoying. The old doctors barely used their screwdrivers.
When I heard the announcement about Peter Capaldi, I remember thinking, ‘oh yes’, that sort of recognition rather than being in any way surprised. A bit like when you meet someone you fall in love with, you go ‘of course’, you’re not surprised, you just think ‘oh of course, that’s how the jigsaw fits together, that’s how it was supposed to be’. It seemed completely inevitable, rather than just an interesting casting choice.

Matt and Jenna are so welcoming and lovely and I can’t say enough good things about them, so we sat around and had chats and all that sort of thing, but I was also kind of trying to walk away and leave them alone a bit because I was very conscious that it had to be a bit sad for them. It was their last couple of weeks together and they’re doing little fist-bumps before scenes and having chats. I know what it’s like to end a series and think ‘aw, that’s a shame. That’s a period of my life, and we won’t be going into work in this way every day, even if you’re still in touch afterwards’ So I was conscious of that.
I dreamt that Matt regenerated to "A Very Unusual Melody" and I bawled my eyes out
Nice to hear the current Doctors praise the next actor in line
I think Capaldi is going to be refreshing becaise hes the first older actor-Doctor in new Who

The whole episode felt like one big Doom reference to be honest.
Creepy human space station? Check.
Malevolent unseen force turning workers into mindless zombies? Check.
Possession and satanic imagery? Check.
Ancient being deep beneath the planet's surface? Check.

Not to mention all the Aliens references as well.
Chased through vents by hordes of aliens? Flying away from the base as it gets destroyed? Finding the big monster is actually on the escape ship after all? Killing them by blasting them out into space? Check check check check.
Impossible Planet/Satan Pit is probably my favourite Tenth Doctor story, come to think of it (that or Lazarus experiment).
Scared the willies out of me when I first watched it.

In one of the episodes I watched the other day, someone tells the Doctor it's very easy to work out who he is from the very large Doctor-shaped hole he left in the universe. The Daleks probably worked out they've got an arch enemy from the data they're missing.
The only bit of Wholock that was REALLY off for me was Matt Smith's face at certain (a lot of) points, but for what it is it's amazing.
If one guy can do a five minute version of this why couldn't they have had a ten second clip of Eccleston in Hurt's TARDIS after the regeneration? :v:
So I was just opening up a Unity game when suddenly:

Has anyone else seen this? I highly doubt it's real, I mean there is a spelling error in it, but it's still pretty neat nonetheless.
Someone tried to bridge the gap between the Time War and Eccleston in 2010, and it seems there's another War Doctor here, which is very odd. I've never seen this anywhere else, and I can't quite get my head around it.
Also forgive me if this has a simple solution and is common knowledge now. I've just never seen this.
