Dunno how I feel about Jenny Strax and the other being back though. Capaldi should get a new slate... eh.
just heard something about series 8 that's gonna make it even more awesome than it's already gonna be, they're really putting everything they have into this! cannot wait for capaldi to be on screen (as well as the rest of the christmas special of course :v: )
Everything I hear about it is awesome. Everything I hear is also heavily soaked in Classic Series references.

That's part of the magic behind the show. ps i still want barrowman back for series 8 i dont care how busy he is on arrow

So the viewer can go "oh yeah that's the same guy". With Matt it was a real struggle and it's probably why people didn't warm to him instantly. He had the benefit of being slightly similar to Tennant anyway so it didn't matter too much. But they want to make Capaldi 100% different so I'm guessing they'll need those guys. I really like Jenny, Strax, and Vastra though. I do think Jenny should've stayed dead. Add a bit of drama and loss to Doctor "EVERYBODY LIVES" Who. Strax is my favourite. I want an episode where we see Strax and The Doctor meeting. River Song can shoot things, be flirty, know more than the companion, and when you need a character that knows The Doctor to jump in she's easy to write in. She fills all the roles Jack filled before. I imagine Moffat worked pretty hard to fit him into Good Man Goes to War. It must've been annoying when Barrowman had to say no.

Hey guys? 3 more days until the clock strikes twelve.
9th Doctor + drugs = ?????? [editline]22nd December 2013[/editline] I want to drive this joke into the ground
I'm sorry but the image of Tom Baker doing lines of coke is a hard one to erase and just move on from.
What do you guys think of this theory? (Spoilers of course) http://www.reddit.com/r/doctorwho/comments/1tfilc/spoilers_i_thought_of_a_theory_for_the_time_of/ If you don't want to go to reddit then I'll sum it up, of course it has some other theories and it is a short read (In the comments there is another theory) [sp]The Meta-Crisis becomes the new Doctor, since he spent time in the Tardis activating his Time Lord half of him to regenerate or something[/sp] And another theory is this. [sp]Someone else takes up the name and role of The Doctor[/sp]
[sp]Someone else takes up the name and role of The Doctor[/sp]
That would I think ruin the show completely for me, story wise. [sp]It wouldn't be the same when you know and it's been established that it's not the original time lord anymore who calls himself the Doctor and just some random bloke[/sp]
I dislike both of those theories. :(
Those theories are awful for the reasons VaSTinY outlines, thankfully doesn't happen. I don't think.. The Daily Star has some vague spoilers about the last few minutes of the episode. It's mainly a tease. But it's causing feverish debate and speculation on Gallifrey Base. For those interested here is the quote from the Daily Star causing confusion (note: this could contain a spoiler Matt Smith's last words).
[sp]And it doesn’t end well. At the close of the show, The Doc will reveal his time is up and he is dying. However, in a spine-tingling moment just before he regenerates, the spectre of a huge favourite from the past appears in the Tardis. Who says: “Times change and so must I but I will always remember when The Doctor was me.” And the spook tells him: “Good night.” Fans will then see him transfrom into a new Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, 55.[/sp]
Ignore the fact The Daily Star can't spell "transform", and carelessly uses the phrase "Who says:" without making it clear Who says it. Theories so far: [sp]-Some believe the first bit is Matt and the "good night" is from the ghost. Others believe the ghost says it all. -It's Amy -It's River -It's Baker again -It's Bradley as Hartnell -It's archive Hartnell with a new line recorded by an impressionist like in Day of the Doctor -The Rani -Paul McGann (always Paul McGann) -It's archive Troughton with an impressionist -It's The Watcher played by Capaldi -Like the theory posted above: It's Meta Crisis Doctor[/sp] Honestly you can speculate until you're blue in the face, unless you're the intelligent sort who decides not to believe what The Daily Star vomits up
It better not be some bloke who takes on his name it'd ruin the show for me.
Haha the girl who played Lil Amy is now getting quite tall. Starting to look very similar to Karen.
They are cousins though aren't they?
Cousins who only ever met on set. I look nothing like my cousins, you have a vague similarity. But at 13 she's starting to turn into a mini Karen!
It better not be some bloke who takes on his name it'd ruin the show for me.
Hah, reminds me of "Death Comes to Time", the BBC's first Webcast story during the post-TV Movie/Pre Revival times. For whatever reason, it went into non-canon territory by killing off the Doctor permanently in his seventh body, I think to tie in into this one guy's "Minister of Chance" series.
[sp]If it is the fucking Rani I'll eat my hat[/sp]
[sp]I'd be very surprised if it isn't Amy who the Doctor sees as a ghost[/sp]
[sp]what if its tom baker again[/sp]
[sp]I'd be very surprised if it isn't Amy who the Doctor sees as a ghost[/sp]
This is the most popular theory though [sp]it would totally devalue Rory and it would make no sense her appearing to say "Good night" at that moment.[/sp]
I'd like it to be [sp]David Bradley as William Hartnell's Doctor[/sp]
I'd prefer [sp]Hartnell as Hartnell. Perhaps using the same cool effects they did for that trailer. Then get that impressionist from DOTD to do the "good night" line[/sp] [editline]22nd December 2013[/editline] I like how Capaldi doesn't smile or act like Malcom Tucker when he meets fans now. He wears scarfs and gives long piercing stares.
