Haha the girl who played Lil Amy is now getting quite tall. Starting to look very similar to Karen.
how bad is it that the first thing I thought when I saw this is "Potential"?
Oh god, she's 13 uhh. What do you mean by "potential"?
Oh god, she's 13 uhh. What do you mean by "potential"?
Some potentially great time travel stories obviously, you perv. :v:
Those theories are awful for the reasons VaSTinY outlines, thankfully doesn't happen. I don't think..
The Daily Star has some vague spoilers about the last few minutes of the episode. It's mainly a tease.
But it's causing feverish debate and speculation on Gallifrey Base. For those interested here is the quote from the Daily Star causing confusion (note: this could contain a spoiler Matt Smith's last words).
Ignore the fact The Daily Star can't spell "transform", and carelessly uses the phrase "Who says:" without making it clear Who says it.
Theories so far:
[sp]-Some believe the first bit is Matt and the "good night" is from the ghost. Others believe the ghost says it all.
-It's Amy
-It's River
-It's Baker again
-It's Bradley as Hartnell
-It's archive Hartnell with a new line recorded by an impressionist like in Day of the Doctor
-The Rani
-Paul McGann (always Paul McGann)
-It's archive Troughton with an impressionist
-It's The Watcher played by Capaldi
-Like the theory posted above: It's Meta Crisis Doctor[/sp]
Honestly you can speculate until you're blue in the face, unless you're the intelligent sort who decides not to believe what The Daily Star vomits up
One of my favourite reviewers just reviewed Day of the Doctor

He reviews Star Trek, Doctor Who (even the old ones) plus a handful of other shows, but mostly Star Trek. He takes donations for reviews as well.
Found an odd rendition of that trailer music

It's well put together compared to a lot of other online-review content.
But it's frustrating. He makes obvious points without really going into what they mean and bringing out something interesting. He asks "what" things are without really exploring why that could be.
That bit about The Doctor picking up Clara, how the Doctor now serves as "a magical character who whisks you away from your home for adventure but still makes sure you home in time for bed and pleasant dreams". He's right, it's mythical, it's fairytale, it's fantastical. It's also totally obvious and everybody picked up on that. He doesn't explore what that means, or why Moffat does that. He doesn't debate if it's a good thing or a bad thing. He just notices it happens and then takes a sudden pop at Clara being a teacher.
It did get me thinking about the whole part-time companion thing. It reminds me of Nozick's Experience Machine. If given the choice between your normal every day life and a perfect simulated (or equally unrealistic life in the TARDIS) life which do you choose? No matter how good the perfect life is you would never be able to fully leave your old life behind and the suffering associated with it. You always have responsibilities and people you care for, that you will feel solely responsible. You wouldn't give up your whole life with the reassuring thought you'd "come back to visit every now and then, afterall it's a time machine". Your life would still be on your mind, you friends and family. Your work and eduction. What is happening to the world you just left behind?
Ultimately though no matter how interesting it is, it feels disjointed having Clara drop-in and drop-out when we don't see her family and the life she leads away from The Doctor. I am curious as to why Moffat has made the conscious decision to strip back the soap-opera of home-life for the companion, while simultaneously making them stay home more than ever. It's annoyingly schizophrenic.
Ultimately my problem with this review is it's just a recap of the episode: "The Doctor does this" or "Clara says this" while using the opportunity show off some extra Who knowledge: "this era was like that, that era was like this". It's just not necessary, it's very basic knowledge that the audience will already have as they no doubt watch the show. A lot of it is completely unrelated to the review of Day of the Doctor. There's no point considering an audience that doesn't watch the show because that shouldn't be your audience for a Doctor Who review. I also have a problem with any review more than half the length of it's subject matter. It can really be more concise, there's a certain narcism to that sort of thing. With Red Letter Media doing Star Wars it was fine as they felt like in-depth critical analysis, here it's just boring and thinking it's a lot more analytical than it is.

I don't really get why the phone is in that little white box, so that he has to lean out the door to answer it. I thought in Police boxes it was just mounted on the door? Like in Empty Child:

It is mounted on the door, but that's what it'd look like from the inside.
