Looking back, I was a bit harsh last night. There was that business a while ago that Moffat had been forced to drop his master plan and focus on standalone stories in Series 7. So it may have been more TPTB that forced all plot lines to be resolved in 60 minutes.... and still, it means a clean slate for Capaldi.
I find it interesting they used The Long Song during his regeneration, if I recall, back when Tennant regenerated, someone said something along the lines of "the universe will sing you to sleep".
IMO, Moffat knew what was going to happen in the end (e.g. Timelords behind the crack), but had no idea when he was going to dish it out - hence the rushed feeling
On the fields of Trenzalore, at the fall of the eleventh, when no living creature can speak falsely or fail to answer, a Question will be asked, a question that must never, ever be answered.
This makes perfect sense now. The truth field.
Most of it makes perfect sense you can really tell that if he had a bit more time and had his own way that entire plot arc would have been utterly perfect, its a pity but I still think it ended up really turning out well
Daleks Anyone have a reasoning behind this?
Genesis was the first shot in the Time War, but wasn't the start of the Time War. Those white and gold Daleks were a seperate faction created by Davros to be loyal to him, causing the Dalek Civil War, which was shown in Remembrance. At some point, one faction lost or both were unified, and the gold Daleks were made before the start of the Time War.
I wasn't really interested in the episode. but I can tell Capaldi will be fucking fantastic.
I just rewatched Matt's regeneration scene again, and nearly cried... again. It was so well done. Probably my favourite regeneration sequence so far. I don't even mind how quick it was now.
Time Of The Doctor was fan-bloody-tastic. Didn't feel very Christmassy but whatever.
Just finished watching it. I like how everything was wrapped up nicely, but I just didn't like the whole special itself... I can't even pin it on any one thing either really. It honestly felt more like an hour of rushing to answer as much as possible 'for the fans' than a typical episode or special, you know? And fair enough I suppose, I'm happy with the results. It was probably just the locations used in the special, none of the scenes or places really grabbed me like I'm used to with Doctor Who, they were all pretty standard fare? I don't know. I'm surprised with Capaldi's first lines actually, I was seriously expecting him to be cranky, you guys have soiled my mind with endless fuckity fucks and various other Capaldi swear-a-thons!! [sp]Also, why did Amy show up? Was that just purely a thing for the fans, like 'closure' or something? I'm just not 100% clear on why he sees young and then old Amy...[/sp]

Ahh ok. Sorry, I probably ask stupid questions sometimes but these days I just can't get the time to re-watch TV shows... I watch it once, and that's it, I rarely ever watch something a second time any more, so all the little connections and such elude me as time goes on. Easy to miss obvious things that way!
For the fans. Light-years away from the Star's interpretation of 'legendary' though.
Amy is a really really popular character amongst the "not-we". Daily Star embodies the "not-we", it certainly embodies the "not-me". But I do love Amy. Wouldn't use "legendary" to describe her, but both "raggedy man" and "Amy Pond" were some of the highest trends on Twitter last night.
[Moffat comes in and starts gently stroking Grizz's face. "Shh now" he whispers, "it's the way things are". He cradles her head close to his breast like a parent conformting a child, Grizz pushes away in confusion (and slight disgust). He pushes his finger to his lips and hushes her quiet. "Don't tell anybody about this". Then he's gone as quickly as he arrived. Like a Silent, his presence is almost immediately forgotten by all who witnessed it]
...and if his tomb wasn't there, then Clara was never The Impossible Girl! SHUT UP MOFFAT.
I'm sure when the timelords came through they could sort the whole continuity thing out. :v:
People are missing the best bit: Capaldoc KEPT HIS SCOTTISH ACCENT.
Watch and watch and watch forever. [editline]26th December 2013[/editline] Man Capaldi comes from being quite dry to being incredibly sweaty in like 5 seconds of regenerating. That's how intense he is. So intense he drips sweat.

[sp]capaldi probably just sweated a lot between takes[/sp]
grizz will u be my girlfriend
I like his quick smile as he fiddles with the console for the first time :v:
What is the music when Capaldi appears? Is it new? I've got so used to no or very little new music in the last few years. [editline]26th December 2013[/editline] What I'm looking forward to more than anything is the first time Capaldi says the words "Hello I'm the Doctor".
So pumped for Capaldi
I enjoy Behind the Lens, but is curious that all the details that leaked about the last two episodes are the ones that the behind-the-lens team were there to film. And the scenes they didn't get to film (the first Capaldi one for example) had no information leak about them at all...
grizz will u be my girlfriend
I'll have you if Grizz rejected you, honey bunny xxx
The speech in that sounded much more clear than the actual transmitted episode. I had trouble hearing a lot of what was going on in that episode, with all the explosions and loud music.
Some people think Clara's grandmother is actually Clara by what she said to Clara while crying, and some people also think Tasha Lem is either River or another Time Lord.
or clara's gran was just an old woman who recently lost her husband and tasha lem was just somebody the doctor was fucking in an earlier regeneration
Karen Gillan tweeted a pic of her and "Amelia". [sp]"Did you mention the rules? Now, listen, bit of advice. Tell me the truth if you think you know it - lay down the law, if you're feeling brave! But, Daleks, never ever tell me the rules! Haha! Woah-oh! Look at this! Regeneration number thirteen! We're breaking some serious science here, boys! I tell you what, it's gonna be a whopper! You think you can stop me now, Daleks?! If you want my life... COME AND GET IT! Ha ha ha! Love from Gallifrey, boys!"[/sp] <3
