But then we'd all have Angels in our living room!
Wait... Maybe that's how they get around. Via images of them.
I remember in the Series 5 preview I thought the Vampires from Vampires of Venice were like, early Angels, I was a bit disappointed that they weren't. Now I think Angels would look like smoke when not stone. Kind of like when Death Eaters fly in Harry Potter.

I always imagined them as dark, shadow-like creatures with a sort of dark almost navy blue aura around them.
or you know it was a joke meant to build suspense
True, but like I said, just a theory

A great criticism there that boils down to somebody who doesn't know what a crack is.

It is a little strange how the only crack we saw that you could actually see through was the one leading to prisoner zero's cell.
I think Moffat needs to be replaced. He seems to like creating plot points that end up being meaningless or get dropped in a random sentence, as well as retconning things or expanding on them to the point they become ruined or full of inconsistencies. Some of the things he's ruined are the Time War, the Silence and the weeping Angels.
That problem isn't just limited to Moffat but he seems to be the worst. I really don't like how most episodes seem to be "Everybody Lives!" or "Love solves everything" episodes, either. There needs to be Darker and more serious episodes, i can't think of any of those that have happened recently, other than Asylum of the Daleks and Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS. Even then they were nothing compared to episodes like Blink, The impossible planet/The Satan pit, Army of Ghosts/Doomsday, Waters of Mars etc
Couldn't agree with this more. I would kill for darker and more serious episodes. Here's hoping capaldi instates a bit more of a serious tone.
It is a little strange how the only crack we saw that you could actually see through was the one leading to prisoner zero's cell.
That's because The Doctor opened it.

The Saturnyne also travelled through a crack to escape their home planet.

One led to an exploded bit of TARDIS and another went to Gallifrey.

is he saying mcgann was the 2nd worst
:c
I think he's just saying McCoy was the worst
I didn't really like McCoy's doctor either
I didn't really like McCoy's doctor either
Well I don't like you -angry face-

I think it's the master, he did disappear back with them. They weren't going to let him roam free on Gallifrey either.. Maybe Prisoner Zero means he's an unclassified prisoner. Usually it would make sense to start from 'one' right?
Just thinking :v:
BBC America scored another ratings record Wednesday (Dec. 25) with its "Doctor Who" Christmas special.
Matt Smith's final episode, "The Time of the Doctor," delivered 2.47 million viewers Wednesday night, hours after it scored the No. 1 spot in the U.K. ratings. The U.S. telecast gave BBC America the biggest single telecast in its history.
The previous record was also held by "Doctor Who" -- and lasted all of a month. The 50th anniversary special, "The Day of the Doctor," drew 2.4 million people for its initial airing on Nov. 23 (the total grew to 3.6 million with an encore airing later that day).
It continues:

Was it the No. 1 spot in the UK ratings? I thought that was Mrs. Brown's Boys or something.
I remember being surprised Downton was so low down if I was looking at the right ratings.

People say 10.2 million tuned in to see the regeneration, but it was an average of 8.3 right? There's no way 2 million people knew the regeneration was happening and tuned in. I hope not, because that means 2 million people went through a lot of effort to avoid Matt Smith and only catch Capaldi.
I doubt that the 2m spike was anything to do with the fact the regeneration was on. "QUICK THROW ON THE TV, LET'S CATCH THE REGENERATION AND NOTHING ELSE". It was probably just the overlap of people tuning in to watch whatever was on after Doctor Who and The Doctor Who fans already watching boosting it up.
[editline]27th December 2013[/editline]
That said how the fuck did Mrs Brown's Boys do that!? Apparently Mrs Brown's Boys got 11 million last year? I had no idea it was that popular. Is Downton not popular as it was last year?
Because Mrs Brown's Boys appeals to the lowest common denominator.
Yeah I imagine both Downton and Doctor Who will rocket up the ratings by the time we get the figure next week. Specially Doctor Who.

I think Mrs. Brown's Boys pays someone off to get those ratings
I don't really understand the (annoying) complaint about the 'Doctor Who?' plotline.
It's not a joke it's a valid question that was a confirmation for Gallifrey.
And when the Daleks said it it was because they really didn't know who he was at the time.
Also, rewatching the Time of the Doctor, this is such a great regeneration episode.

oh god the use of 'all these strange strange creatures' is amazing still.

Moffat may have found a way to work it into the plot, but it's most definitely a joke.
I dislike it because it makes no sense.
Doctor is a title, not honorific. So saying "Doctor who?" doesn't make sense as he's not a Dr.
Maybe "Mister who?" would make more sense, or "what is your name?".
But unless his name is revealed to be Dr. John Smith or whatever then asking "Doctor Who?" is a bit odd. Or is Doctor actually his first name? I just don't get how it's a question the Timelords would ask.
Still, let it be :v:
also jesus the music is fantastic in this episode
[editline]27th December 2013[/editline]
I love this episode.
the last eight minutes (+Handles and excluding the quick regeneration) were amazing
the rest wasn't bad but wasn't the best
Eeeh, I liked all of it, it's one lovely big package with a regeneration topping.
The quick regen was fine for me, surprising though.
DO YOU HAPPEN TO KNOW HOW TO FLY THIS THING?!
I no longer count the quick regeneration as the quick regeneration.
There was just no morph. It started on the clock tower.
