The Time of The Doctor - A Shorter Version: by Grizz The Doctor and Clara discover the crack in time. The Doctor learns that the Time Lords are asking whether it is safe to come through. The truth field means that he cannot lie. He tells them it isn't safe to come through, and asks for a new set of regenerations in return for saving them all. The End. My scripts would be short - but would save The Doctor some time.
We could spend more and time with Doctor and Clara and seeing The Doctors heroism instead of mostly hearing about it and dispatching a gimmicky Cyberman. I prefer your story-arc and church-free version. [editline]28th December 2013[/editline]
I'm unsure if anything can beat Dan's script for episode three, Grizz.
Powerful that one. Lots of slow motion crying scenes with nothing but a high-pitch tone in the background and shaky-cam. Credits are silent.
Theory: The Daleks forgetting the Doctor, and him stepping back into the shadows was intended to be a story arc for Matt Smith, but for obvious reasons that was aborted.

I'm hoping for more appearances by the Ice Warriors. It was really cool seeing one in Cold War
Wait, didn't we see that interview like, a month or two ago
Well, this is the interview they're talking about
Wait, didn't we see that interview like, a month or two ago
It's hard to tell these days. People are so well media trained that a lot of interviews read the same. [editline]28th December 2013[/editline]
I'm hoping for more appearances by the Ice Warriors. It was really cool seeing one in Cold War
Hoping for a proper Zygon mystery too. A series with Zygons, Ice Warriors, and The Master would be like the best. Daleks are alright too I guess. Capaldi won't be The Doctor until they feel the wrath of his eyebrows. I wonder if Capaldi will influence fashion in the same way Smith brought Tweed to Topman and Tennant brought glasses (for people who don't need glasses) to the hipster nation. ...And Eccleston brought a love of leather jackets to me...
Well, this is the interview they're talking about
the guy on the right is fedorable im not watching this video just because of that guy
the guy on the right is fedorable im not watching this video just because of that guy
it's a stetson, apparently they're cool now
It's a shame Zygons cost quite a lot, otherwise I'd say we'd see a lot more of them in the future. Maybe one episode next series though, if we're lucky.
It's a shame Zygons cost quite a lot, otherwise I'd say we'd see a lot more of them in the future. Maybe one episode next series though, if we're lucky.
How do they cost a lot? They're rubber suits and mouth-goo :v:
How do they cost a lot? They're rubber suits and mouth-goo :v:
I don't know the specifics, but I'd assume the effects cost a decent amount, the suiting up, the rights to use them etc
Maybe one episode next series though, if we're lucky.
Said Freeze with a wry smile knowing full well that the big rumour for next year is Zygons. Amongst others. That said, the big rumour is ALWAYS Zygons... though it wasn't for the 50th haha [editline]28th December 2013[/editline]
I don't know the specifics, but I'd assume the effects cost a decent amount, the suiting up, the rights to use them etc
I imagine suiting does. Did the rights cost anything? Didn't the guy just give permission as opposed to the BBC buying the rights? The effects would probably mostly be done offscreen. It only needs to be done once to introduce the viewer to the concept.
I honestly have no idea if they have the rights or not or how much the effects cost, just guesses. All I know is that they costed a decent amount for the 50th and will probably be the same amount if they use them again minus the cost of the suit. EDIT: It might even cost more if you think about it if they had a full episode to themselves. The 50th had other things going on, but with a Zygon focused story you'd have to have them used a lot more.
The Zygon bits start to finish were about the length of a regular episode.
The Zygon bits start to finish were about the length of a regular episode.
I wouldn't say so.. that would mean the Zygon bits were longer than the whole timewar and war-doctor plot and that can't be right, can it? Maybe I'm just remembering wrong.
From 19:30 to 56:45 on the iPlayer running time is Zygon stuff. With snippits of Time War related conversation dotted about. In the cell. Hurt/Clara. approx. 37 Minutes of Zygon/Elizabeth/UNIT approx. 38 Minutes of Time War/13 Doctors/Curator It takes 20 minutes for the Tennant flashback and almost 27 for the Doctors to meet. Didn't feel that long in the cinema on the first viewing, I must say.
The Zygon bits start to finish were about the length of a regular episode.
They were merely a background piece to The Multi-Doctor action and reintroducing Ten. Nothing like their past selves really. I want a proper Zygon two parter with suspense, tension and horror vibes. Less vomit and silly running after people that could be replaced by any monster.
So with 11 regenerating into Capaldi's Doctor, this means that there is 11 more regenerations that the doctor can go through?
Think of Capaldi as the new first Doctor. So he's got another 12 regenerations before we have to sort something out again, and to be honest by that point I think the show will probably have ended.
Rather 11 being the first doctor then? He regenerated after he got the new regeneration cycle. He even looked like the first doctor when he started his regeneration :v:
and to be honest by that point I think the show will probably have ended.
Said the writers who originally introduced the 12 regeneration limit. :v:
No music =D
No music =D
Holy shit was that good! What I would give for a subtle soundtrack to let those kind of performances flourish. The bit the TARDIS starts crashing was poorly edited with music, it was even more jarring without music. I feel like something has been cut.
It's nice watching it without no music. That's how (if Doctor Who was real) Clara and the Doctor would be experiencing it. It's almost like you're actually there! :v:
Really love this, at least on par with Vale Decem.
I knew these aren't supposed to be FX-free, but when I heard the muted sound of Capaldi screaming "KIDNEYS", it caught me totally off guard.

There's more of these out there, but I got to add other music to mask the fakeness :v:
I guess we'll agree to disagree. The regeneration was longer than Eccleston and not as dragged as Tennant (I count the regeneration as what happened on the clock tower, the TARDIS scene was a bonus).
Let's be honest, the 10th Doctor started regenerating after getting Wilf out of the radiation chamber, i.e fixing his face.
