I stopped watching series 7 because it got a bit too camp for me. What episode does the new companion come in and does anyone have any must watch episodes to suggest? I stopped at s7 e3 or 4.

I'd suggest you skip ahead to S7 E3 or 4, and continue from there.

I still think it would be interesting to see how they would handle non-humanoid companions. I remember when I was first watching Asylum of the Daleks I thought that maybe [sp]the clara-dalek would become his companion[/sp]. You have to admit it would be, at the very least, interesting.

As you probably know, the companion's story may have started in episode 1 - same actress and all - and Amy and Rory's story ends in episode 5. So you just stopped short ; )
It's 13 episodes, split into two parts of 6/7. Every episode is different in tone from the last. How can anybody seriously request a highlights reel because they didn't like the tone of the last few when it's obvious the tone will change pretty quickly.
Watched [I]Angels[/I] again today. I know we've all agreed there were plot holes the size of a bus but fuck's sake.

You know what I want to see in the next series?
More moments like that bit in Tooth and Claw where the Doctor sees the werewolf for the first time and is totally taken aback by it. Like, he's a traveller, right? He travels the universe, showing it off to his companions, but most of the time it's like he already knows 100% of everything it has to offer. Why don't we see more of him seeing things he's never seen before? Why don't we see more of him being completely awestruck by something amazing, that's totally unique, that he's never experienced? As far as I can remember this has happened once since the reboot. He's supposed to be about a thousand years old - one thousand years is not enough time to see everything in the universe at every period in history. It just isn't. And it would totally suit the new Doctor.
I want Capaldi to see something completely new to him, that he's never seen in all his lives, and be totally awestruck, dumbfounded, impressed by, and other similar words and phrases.

series 8 is gonna be so good, so much creativity is going round from what i've heard about a lot of the episodes so far, hopefully they do a minisode or something to tide over the next seven months

Huh, so that's whose face it was. I never saw an episode in anything higher than 360p so I never knew for sure.
