I really want the theme tune to go back to being more instrumental and less synthy (not really the right way to describe it but I'm sure you know what I mean). The new one just doesn't have that kick that 2005 - 2009 had. Hell, even 2010 had a better theme than right now.
Series 8 theme tune confirmed to be more instrumental and less synthy.
Paul Wilmshurst is on the director's list for Series 8 (Strike Back, Da Vinci’s Demons)
I took those to be episodes titles and became very excited for a moment.

It's not his direct objective; but he knows that one day he will go home. Yes one day. Series 1/Season 34. Still cool. [editline]24th February 2014[/editline] Also he looks like a male companion who won't be defined by his girlfriend. I was so worried we'd get another Mickey/Rory wet fish. I really, really hope it's not just Mickey 3.0 / Rory 2.0 although at least it's not that shit from the beginning of Day of the Doctor
Red tie, heh. I wonder what's up with this color palette - from promo images and leaked photos both Doctor and Clara seems to wear dark clothes with distinctive red in Season 8.
If he's not as badass as Chesterton I'll cry
The Scientist and the Pink Guy. Sounds like Breaking Bad to me.
And I was getting such a DW-circa '73-'74 vibe off the costume. I guess it still could be, with the characters having professions like Ian and Barbara but spiritually being more like Sarah Jane and Harry. ...Peter Capaldi could be like the Doctor that Philip Hinchcliffe thought he was going to have before Tom Baker was cast. Or that's all rubbish and it's more of a Hartnell-vibe... or just not. I want a trailer.
Woo a Doctor Who companion with the same name as me woo
for some reason i smell a convoluted love triangle brewing... call it paranoia.
I'm still hoping for Joe Gilgun one day. [editline]24th February 2014[/editline] rewatched This is England 88 recently - he gives a fucking sterling performance
Joe Gilgun for 15th doctor
I dunno if he's Doctor material, but companion material definitely. Would be hilarious if he joined as Woody

I love male companions, so I am very excited! Well just Rory. A lot. I don't even remember Ricky's name.
I love male companions, so I am very excited! Well just Rory. A lot. I don't even remember Ricky's name.
It was Micky wasn't it?
it was definitely ricky.
Ricky was the one from Pete's World and he died. Mickey is the lovable idiot from the regular universe.
Ricky was the one from Pete's World and he died. Mickey is the lovable idiot from the regular universe.
Who became a badass and married Martha Jones
Ricky was the one from Pete's World and he died. Mickey is the lovable idiot from the regular universe.
The joke is going completely over your head, isn't it?
I personally want him to be a bit like Eccleston's Doctor, just maybe not so emotional, but maybe just as dark and grim in certain moments. Mr. Fantastic was awesome
did you say awesome? I think you meant fantastic.
Ricky was the one from Pete's World and he died. Mickey is the lovable idiot from the regular universe.
Fuck I did mess up, I wanted to make a joke about what the Doctor always called him but ended up being right. :v:
So in my Greek class we watched some scenes from a production of the play "Antigone" by Sophocles, with Eccelston playing Creon. Absolutely fantastic. Dunno how I feel about this. Some of the editing is well done, other bits not so much.
I don't understand why people think the Doctor can't love another person after Rose, after (I'm assuming) Susan's grandmother, after falling in love with Madame Pompadour (which I quite liked). The man is over one thousand years old - I can love again after my partner and I broke up and I'm a regular guy. But I don't want the companion to have a side story of love. I want another Donna. I want another regular person. I love Clara, and the new companion looks great, but I don't want them to resort to using romantic love as a reason to bring it all together. It's over-done.
