Possibly linked to the Architectural Configuration System?
Have they ever explained in continuity why the Doctors Tardis can change its appearance slightly despite the fact that the chameleon circuit is broken?
According to what the Doctor said in The Eleventh Hour, it actually works fine, but it just chooses to disguise itself as the police box.
To be fair, he didn't have many chances for undercover work... Asylum - Captured by Daleks Dinosaurs - Past acquaintances Mercy - They told stories of the Gunslinger Power - U.N.I.T. Angels - River Bells - G.I. Rings - Parasite sacrifice Cold War - Untimely TARDIS arrival Hide - Undercover work for military intelligence Journey - Untimely TARDIS capture Crimson - Undercover residents of Sweetville, briefly. Nightmare - Undercover ambassador for the emperor. Name - G.I Day - Time War Time - Tasha Lem While Moffat was running the 'back to the shadows' idea, he was also running a rather major story arc about "Doctor Who" being broadcast throughout all of time and space. So it was never going to work out :v:
i think it was supposed to be an arc for matt but then he left the series

It’s camouflaged. It’s disguised as a police telephone box from 1963. Every time the TARDIS materialises in a new location, within the first nanosecond of landing, it analyses its surroundings, calculates a twelve-dimensional data map of everything within a thousand-mile radius and then determines which outer shell would blend in best with the environment.... and then it disguises itself as a police telephone box from 1963. It's probably a bit of a fault actually, I've been meaning to check....

I remember the Ninth Doctor hinting that he quite liked the TARDIS staying in the shape of a police box.
Commentator uploads Day of the Doctor reaction and it's immediately pulled on copyright ;( EDIT: It's unblocked! Now he's starting Game of Thrones too... so more hours gone :v:
I await Time.
I'd be too vain to be the Doctor, would take me about ten regenerations to be happy :v:
I know you're mostly joking but I don't think Ten regenerating into Ten again is really vain. I mean it's not like within the canon of the show he's 'not letting someone else have a shot'. He just wants to stay himself. If I had the choice between changing my face or staying the same I know which I'd pick and I'd like to think it wouldn't be a vain choice.
Also everything I watch now I keep expecting Zebasiz to comment

What do you guys think?
Getting a mix of Troughton and McGann
Where specifically?
Where specifically?
Sort of nose and longer face, might just be me but maybe make his jaw/lower face a bit wider and pupils bit smaller. Probably will look much better once you add the hair! [editline]11th May 2014[/editline] Just realised a contradiction, whether it's been mentioned before.. In the Time of the Doctor, he says he can't regenerate anymore (prior given extra lives) but he starts to regenerate in S6E1 before he gets shot dead. Even though he cheated death by becoming a teselecta, the original/alternate timeline suggests he would have regenerated. Sure he didn't, but if surely he should have just been shot dead instead of starting the process?
Alright, I'll see what I can do about the jawline. As for the hair, I'm actually trying to find someone to help me with that, as my attempts have been rubbish. If you know of anyone that could accomplish said goal, that would be incredible. As for the Tesselecta regeneration conundrum, only he knew that he couldn't regenerate again, the Silence had no idea of the War Doctors existence, and would assume foul play if regeneration didn't appear to have begun.
we never actually saw a time lord die without regenerations in the new series, who knows, perhaps it would start normally and then fizz out because he ran out of yellow explosion sfx or something
The regeneration process begins, but is not completed - on a Time Lord's final life. Besides, I'm sure the Teselecta didn't need to try too hard to produce yellow mist.

Timelords are used to changing it. Even The Doctor described the whole thing as "Vanity Issues" and that's fine by me. Wanting to keep your face when you're a species that often change your face is vanity. 'Not letting someone else have a shot' would've been selfish not vain. Not that he'd think of it as 'someone else' having a shot anyway as it would still be him. Ten just always had trouble accepting his own mortality. I guess that made him the most human Doctor of them all.
It's the end, but the moment has been prepared for... EDIT: For some reason video embedding isn't working, but this was something I threw together over the weekend, rendered it out over Mother's Day.
Filming in Lanzarote on the horizon.

The BBC has confirmed that Hermione Norris will feature in series eight of Doctor Who in an episode that is set in Lanzarote and written by Wallander's Peter Harness. Norris said of appearing in Doctor Who: "It's exciting to be part of such an iconic show, and one that my kids can watch!" Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat added: "It's a testament to the quality of Peter Harness's intense and emotional script, that we've been able to attract an actress of the brilliance of Hermione Norris. "And for the first time since 1984, the Doctor Who production team is heading to Lanzarote. The Doctor is returning to the scene of an old adventure - but there have been sinister changes since his last visit."
Hooray
To save people like me who don't watch the classic series much from having to Google stuff: the story it's a sequel to is most likely Planet of Fire, the penultimate fifth Doctor story featuring the Master as a villain.
holy shit i'm so excited.
Happy Birthday, Catherine Tate!
ubermunchkin just messaged me saying his favourite episode is love and monsters - you heard it here first
I actually think that was an okay episode. It just had an awful antagonist and a ridiculous ending.
