I hope they really play up the fact that he has just spent 1000 years on a planet which wasn't Earth.

They could have the budget for both if they [I]wanted[/I] to change them. I think the learnt you need to keep a couple of things the same so viewers transition easier. With Matt Smith nothing [I]stayed[/I] the same.
I like the TARDIS. Looks a bit less JJ Abrams' Star Trek.
