I'm getting the feeling that [sp]Moffat's just trying to write it so he can say "yeah my characters are basically responsible for all of Doctor Who lol, Clara saved the Doctor a bunch of times in the past and told him to get the TARDIS, and then John Hurt made the Doctor run away in the first place, it's all down to these characters! All of Doctor Who is because of these guys! Who I made up! Yaaay! All me!"[/sp]
so um can we not with the spoilers that are like "Info on the Next Doctor"
I DONT NEED TO OPEN THEM TO KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS

Moffat is the next Doctor
More like, very old news - if true.
Thankfully I'm not as adverse about casting as I am to plot. [sp]I want to be assured that former Doctors have been involved in new stuff. Though this would throw a spanner in the old "MATT AND MOFFAT DON'T TALK BECAUSE CLASSIC DOCTORS WEREN'T INVOLVED[/sp]
It does. But it doesn't stop the rumour Moffat was rude to Skinner. Actually not a rumour as it was pretty public (apparently). I don't know. Maybe it's just me but in all recent behind the scenes stuff, interviews, and public appearances. Matt seems to be having a lot less fun.

I had no idea this was Mark Gatiss!
We're not allowed to see Matt having fun. It was deemed a waste of money and considered irrelevant by Zai Bennett.
rip confidential ;(
Bar a couple of episodes that were actually really good, the only thing that I currently like is the chemistry and dialogue between the Doctor and Clara.
[sp]shit guys i think i may end up shipping them or something help[/sp]

Tumblr will be way, way, WAY ahead of you (hell, they were probably doing it when it was just Oswin).
k so can someone explain shipping, i keep hearing it a lot and im assuming it means matching up two characters in a fanfic?
Ok, I am not following the past few pages at all. So here are a few questions.
1. Why is Matt Smith bald?
2. Why are you talking about the next doctor when Matt confirmed 2014?
k so can someone explain shipping, i keep hearing it a lot and im assuming it means matching up two characters in a fanfic?
Yeah, basically pretending / imagining / writing about two people being in a relationship, whether they're real or fictional or whatever.

Why doesn't that surprise me? Tumblr's scary.

Long story short without spoilers:
1. New project, I guess, but could relate to #2.
2. BTS rumors say Matt & Moffat are in a state of disharmony as of recent times, and Matt's going to resign the role of the Doctor in protest. And I don't think we have concrete proof of Matt going on to Series 8 yet.

1. Because he's filming a hollywood film
2. People have been speaking about the next doctor since Matt signed up. With potential names being throw around every year he's been in the show. He isn't confirmed for 2014, he's the only one who isn't.
People keep coming back with this. He said in an interview in February that he would be "around for the next year". That interview was dug up by fans in the last few weeks and now everybody thinks he means 2014.
Matt has not signed on for 2014. He is the only one not to say he's returning. Very reliable sources who aren't often wrong have been saying casting for 12 has been taking place since early this year. [sp]They also say Ben Daneils[/sp] has been cast. Originally he was one of the three rumoured names to be present at a screen test. The others were equally well known names of British TV, maybe slightly more. The other two were also comedy actors.
Yo Dan, do you have Skype or Steam or some shit, I want you on either of those to chat.
I have Steam but I really don't use it unless I'm playing a game which I don't do as much these days. I don't even really remember what my Steam name is. Maybe somebody here does?

It's probably Dan2593 to be honest
ye tho seriously get something to chat with, youre like the fucking google of doctor who
edit: this wasnt nice you fucking shits, i want to talk to him because of his knowledge not because of his personality

yeah i agree it does sorta ruin the magic of doctor who for me when I know that moffat is a slimy cunt and everyone hates him
i preferred it when i was getting excited over Rose being back and Davros bombing reality
I don't know about the rest of you, but for me, nothing has been able to beat the 2008 series 4 final, so I'm expecting a lot from this next EP and the 50th.

In what way was it really bad, I don't agree with you at all, it had everyone including Davros. It was certainly better than the series 5 final, they didn't even explain what caused the cracks in the universe.

Haven't seen it yet, but I thought it was made clear that the cracks were a side effect of the whole "TARDIS goes boom" thing.

If you can't figure it out without being explicitly told by the characters then there is a problem with the way you watch shows, the explanation was quite clear to anyone
Granted the explanation for the entirety of series 6 wasn't, but series 5 was always pretty clear.
Series 5 was a way better finale than 4, 4 only had everyone in the sense that all the characters had some seemingly random deus ex machina to fix the daleks and then they got made completely powerless and then they were just there doing crap all

It had nothing that made go "yeah this cool" it was just the running around for a bit in an empty universe. So they were expecting me to figure it out the cracks in time? Please just explain it, that's not entertainment. The end of series 4 had everything and then tricks you at the end, it built suspense and then paid of, series 5 sort of just built up suspense and they sort didn't really pay off. They locked the Doctor in a box then the universe exploded anyway. It started out well but it didn't really do anything for me.
If the 50 is just like that then I'm not going to be very please with it. Doctor Who should not be compared with deus ex machina.
Okay, let's start from the top so a scrub like you can understand.
1) Eleventh Hour: The Doctor discovers a crack in the wall of Amelia Pond's wall. He snaps it shut.
2) Random appearances of the crack all throughout the series, most of them LAMPSHADED BY THE FUCKING CAMERA.
3) Cold Blood: Rory dies because The Doctor spends too much time fawning over the crack in the wall. He reaches in and pulls out something, he doesn't know what yet. At the end of the episode it's revealed to be PART OF THE WRITING ON THE TARDIS DOOR. HINT HINT.
4) Pandorica Opens: The Pandorica is said to hold the greatest and most feared being in the Universe. It opens. It's empty. It's revealed that ALL of the Doctor's enemies, Daleks, Sontarans, Cybermen, Autons etc. joined forces to prevent the end of the universe.
They shove him in the box, ignoring his shouts that RIVER SONG IS IN THE TARDIS NOT HIM. River Song IS TRAPPED IN THE TARDIS, the Doctor knows that the current date that she's in is when the universe ends. She tries to escape but the TARDIS goes into meltdown and explodes. HINT HINT
5) ???
6) TL;DR, the TARDIS exploded at EVERY POINT IN TIME EVER DUE TO ITS NATURE, the reason is still unknown but it's implied to have been THE SILENCE who caused this to occur.
now go educate yourself.
So they were expecting me to figure it out the cracks in time? Please just explain it, that's not entertainment.
why are you watching a sci-fi show if you don't want to think about it

In what way should doctor who not be compared to deus ex machina
it was literally the entirety of the fourth season finale
