I hope we get to see Gallifrey in all it's glory one day. Just imagine what more we could see with modern technology. Imagine the bizarre ideas designers could use for sets and costumes and props. End of Time & Name / Day of The Doctor were nice teasers. TARDIS repair shop! Houses that are bigger on the inside. New Time Lord technology and all kinds of weird and wonderful concepts come to life. I don't think that the great and powerful Time Lords have been done a great justice in the modern era after they were banished. I would like to see a Gallifrey which hasn't been ravaged and corrupted by the Time War. Somehow. One day. Moffat and Gatiss apparently see them as boring - apparently forgetting that they are writers with the ability to change that. A bit of creativity and imagination, yeah? It's very good for the mythology to keep the Time Lords and Gallifrey spoken of but rarely seen - and the Last of the Time Lords arc worked really well. But I think some open minds could do wonders with it. Introducing new Time Lord characters, rebels and other Gallifreyans that The Doctor can bump in to. Seeing more of Gallifrey beyond the citadel... beyond the pomp and circumstance.
I think that a post-Time War Gallifrey could be interesting because of the divisions the society might have. We've touched on the idea that not all Time Lords are corrupt or stagnant; now, after the events of the war and DotD, the Time Lords have had a pretty heavy dose of "the old ways didn't protect us, and neither did the so-called 'greatest Time Lord ever'--only the 'renegade' we've always scorned was able to save us." So there might be different factions now--the old guard who stubbornly cling to the old ways, and the reformists who think it's time for some changes. Which isn't to say that this would lead to civil war (especially not with a war-weary population), but it could lead to Gallifreyan society evolving for the better(if slowly).
I'm sure most see it as being too soon or unnecessary to see more of The Doctor's homeworld in the modern era, but I believe that with the right motivations and creative thinking, a return to Gallifrey (even if it's as brief as 45 minutes) beyond the Time War could be very interesting to explore. Hell, it could even be Doctor-lite. But if not, there's always the novels..
Just imagine [sp]the cogs and clock face bit from Billy's video. But smoother and better looking. Some classic-era influenced theme music. The key difference from Billy's is the clock face morphs smoother into the time vortex which stays around bit longer. No Rassilon sign or clock face. Capaldi eyes and eyebrows flicker in the vortex[/sp]
[sp]The vortex with the names and the 'Doctor Who' title remind me of the BBC Films animation they put on all their releases, including In The Loop.[/sp] [editline]16th August 2014[/editline]
I hope we get to see Gallifrey in all it's glory one day. I'm annoyed with Moffat and Gatiss' comments on it being boring, though.
I'm not annoyed they called it boring. Time Lords are boring. That's part of their character. They're stuffy politicians. If they're innovative and interesting (or even rebellious) The Doctor stops being unique. It's like making Daleks that aren't dangerous (they only exist as a novelty). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I recommend the new War Doctor novel: Engines of War. It's a really really good Dalek story for one half, and the other half is a really really good Timelord story. You get everything from the High Council to the Death Zone. You get to see what happened to Time Lord characters from the classic series. You even visit locations seen in the classic series and the new series. The Timelord part of the story is pretty much a Five Doctors sequel. While The Dalek part is a Genesis sequel. Lots of plot points (and even lines of dialogue) and directly referenced. It adds another level of depth to those stories, it can also improve your viewing of The Day of the Doctor. Doctor Who magazine recently confirmed that John Hurt was draft in to replace Eccleston at the last minute. So part of me is disappointed that this novel could've been a new Ninth Doctor story (and there is really no excuse for not having McGann be the War Doctor). But it adds so much to the War Doctor that you'll never consider dismissing him as a "one off" ever again. I hope we get more War Doctor stories. I've upset myself now thinking how good Day of the Doctor would've been with McGann/Tennant/Smith. An actual classic series Doctor. I'd actually prefer McGann over Eccleston anyway. Hurt still did very well, but I'll forever think of what could've been.
I'm not annoyed they called it boring. Time Lords are boring. That's part of their character.
You don't have to paint every Time Lord with the same brush. It hasn't happened in the past. A fleeting example would be Drax.

Though, good luck trying to out-unique Tom Baker. Then you have more obvious and villainous examples such as The Master, The Rani & The Monk. Then Romana. But if you don't want to use these characters - why not a new one? It could be an interesting story. Time Lords don't have to be boring just because the bulk of them are - and they don't have to overshadow The Doctor. Andro and Fabien looked like they could have fit the Drax-type role. Time Lord technicians - why not? I'll watch Series 9, Episode Six: A Day in the Life of Fabien if nobody else will :v: Cautiously optimistic that The Gatekeeper of the Nethersphere will have some kind of link.
It's like making Daleks that aren't dangerous (they only exist as a novelty).
Such as a Dalek so damaged its turned good...? :v:

There's nice Time Lords. Time Lords that did the right thing in the Time War. Time Lords that go against the mass majority. I'd like to see Gallifreyans. I'd like to see the people of Gallifrey outside of the shining citadel. Which is explored in Engines of War. I just feel despite all their massive ideas and concepts no Time Lord stories (with the exception of Engines of War and The Five Doctors) have been interesting. Maybe Invasion of Time has just ruined Time Lords forever for me.
Such as a Dalek so damaged its turned good...? :v:
A novelty. No doubt an interesting story. It sounds like the Genesis for this generation. But the 'good Dalek' thing is still a novelty.
A novelty. No doubt an interesting story. It sounds like the Genesis for this generation. But the 'good Dalek' thing is still a novelty.
It's fun to see it when it does come around, I think. Besides Oswin, DWM had a comic during he McGann era called Children of the Revolution, where it turns out Daleks the Doctor gave the Human Factor during the Troughton era survive in an underwater city. There's some cool drama about how they worship the Doctor and how a bunch of humans who were saved by the Daleks but aren't allowed to leave the city due to fears of exposure continue to distrust them. Really nice stuff, some fans even made an animatied version of it at one point.
we also had dalek sec all the way back in s3 [editline]16th August 2014[/editline] and caan later
Don't forget Dalek where Rose made the Dalek good. In other news: This is amazing!
Dalek in the circle.
Following the first two episodes, Episode 3 was just leaked in black and white,as the first two were. And just a week away from season 8 too :suicide:
Ep 3 has now been leaked? It's only a matter of time until Listen and Time Heist are leaked too then.

"a source said" i remain unconvinced
Of course Matt Smith hasn't quit I am prepared to be sad at Christmas. But I hope not.
Well going to go see Doctor Who in theaters on the 25th. Can't wait
I hope she's killed off. Not because I dislike her, but because I think it's time for a companion to properly die. There'd still be lots of versions of her out there anyway!
I hope she's killed off. Not because I dislike her, but because I think it's time for a companion to properly die. An Andric stunt for the new generation would be a seriously dramatically awesome move, though I wonder if it can be gotten away with as much as a surprise as possible. I hear people were on the edge whether or not Rose would die in Doomsday, would rumors foil such a thing now?
To add to that, if Clara dies her place will be cemented in history even more than before. She'll be the companion that saw all the Doctors, was in the 50th anniversary, has thousands of versions of her placed throughout history and then finally dies due to (hopefully) the Doctor's mistake. She will leave a legacy. :v:
Do these leaked episodes include the title sequence? It's the only reason I'd watch it for the first part and I want a video without crowd clapping etc. I can't wait a week.

Re-posting this for the comment :v: EDIT - Also went to upload the picture above on tinypic and the capatcha was awfully convenient...

what mr agree isn't telling us is that this is actually a direct screenshot from an episode that was eventually scrapped where the doctor is convinced to expand his brand on the social media scene while trying to avoid river's constant friend requests
"Peter now has a nickname for me: 'the artist formerly known as JLC'"

"At the moment I'm really happy," she says.
I hope she's killed off. Not because I dislike her, but because I think it's time for a companion to properly die. There'd still be lots of versions of her out there anyway!
I don't think a dead companion is very Doctor Who. And Jenna has already had a ton of on-screen deaths. [editline]17th August 2014[/editline] It's like that time a writer killed off Chewbacca in a Star Wars novel. It's just wrong, it goes against the grain of the story. It doesn't match. Killing companions isn't the only dramatic way to say goodbye to a companion. In my opinion it's honestly the least interesting way. We 'killed off' the last set of companions. I'm not up for more of that. To be honest I'm getting Sarah and 4 vibes. I really don't want her to go.
The Mirror also had sources saying that Capaldi is gone so there's that :v:
Ep 3 has now been leaked? It's only a matter of time until Listen and Time Heist are leaked too then.
And episode 6. 5 scripts and 6 episodes were the initial leak.
It'd be interesting to see exactly how Clara leaves. At the moment, she's probably the companion with the most personal significance to the Doctor, so for her to just pull a Martha and go "well I'm bored now I wanna go home see ya" would seem a bit odd. It'd have to be something preventing her from staying with the Doctor, like what happened in Doomsday. And even if she did leave, the Doctor would just be able to go pick up one of her alternate versions. It's like Moffat liked Clara's character so much he made it impossible for her to exit the show. Jenna's contract is probably signed in blood.
