Nothing odd with that last part at all...
Episode started off very iffy IMO, like cartoon sound effects and Capaldi was written like Smith. But the episode picked up after that and ended IMO on a respectable 7-8/10.
I liked it, excited to see where it's going from here.

it shows the subtle evolution as the doctor settles into his regeneration

But it's such a radical departure. What was wrong with the previous intros?
Call me a traditional purist all you want, but it just seems like a huge contrast from what we've come to expect, and it doesn't really have much relevance other than a neat time theme
I'll probably settle into it but it's just so different, beyond being visually impressive (Done by someone outside the BBC, to boot) it's just... meh
But maybe they're going an episodic route like Series 7 Part 1, since the clockwork theme was prevalent in the episode
Other than Capaldi, who was excellent, really didn't think much of that episode unfortunately
That was a an alright episode, not the best but it was better than i expected. I thought it started off fairly badly and the first few minutes were a bit boring, but after a while it got better. It's good that they [sp] linked it to the clockwork automatons who were in a previous episode, it would of felt like a missed opportunity if they didn't. I'm glad it wasn't another "Love solves everything!" or "Everybody lives" and was actually kind of dark and serious, other than in the first few minutes. [/sp]
The only thing i didn't really like other than the first few minutes was [sp] i thought the end scene after Matt Smith went on for a bit too long and for some reason the music seemed to kind of ruin that part[/sp]
