Capaldi somehow manages to own 2 seconds.
Is it me or is the place the Dalek is being held literally a cupboard? It's so bare and empty.
Best place for it.
Like Hitler.

They're still using the old theme. :v:
The Daily Mail is out in support of Deep Breath and defense of the ratings.

alright guys?
i just watched deep breath properly and it was pretty good. I think I prefer the eleventh hour to be honest. i was pretty gutted about missing the episode live on saturday but then arctic monkeys played number 1 party anthem and everything was fixed. Into the Dalek looks pretty good. anyway, i'll read the 300 and something posts tomorrow, im gonna go zonk out.
Capaldi is love, Capaldi is life.

A new era begins...
oh one more thing before i go and pass out -
i really hate vastra and jenny as characters. especially vastra.
"we're married? i love her. let's kiss to save our lives. oh btw we're gay did you know? oh and i eat people lol XD"
EDIT: and im reading deeply into the scene where the Doctor is musing about why he chose that face. There must be a similarity between 12 and Pompeii Guy/John Frobisher.
I don't like the new theme song and the worst part of the first episode was Vastra and Jenny.
And that fucking loney tunes sound effect was so cringe-worthy.
The action sequence where Vastra fights with a sword, it feels like they fought in slow-motion which looks very awkward.
Otherwise Capaldi owns and I want to see more of him and less of those shitty companions.

Yeah neither I nor a friend of mine are a fan of Vastra and Jenny, we've had very in depth conversations about they're shit

Horrifying.
edit: wait, I watched one of the related videos and was commenting on that, nevermind
it was this one:

Just reached the horse scene again.
"He's not ready to leave his bed!"
The "ooooooiiiiiiii" sound Capaldi makes as he gallops past makes me laugh and I don't know why :v:
So, where's the obligatory first mash-up of Deep Breath with quotes of Malcolm Tucker?
Did anyone watch that After Who Live thing - I've seen pictures of Gatiss on it. Not expecting much - it's a Hardwick review show after all :v:
I don't think a straight man should write lesbians.
I don't like Vastra and Jenny. They come across as Sarah Jane characters more than Who. They didn't fit this episode. I actually wouldn't mind if we never saw them again.
UNIT featuring Kate Stewart and Osgood are much better recurring characters. They fit the show and manage to be funny without ever feeling embarrassing. Make them the modern day UNIT, not the Paternoster Gang.
Strax is a bit pantomime too but he's brilliant so I don't mind. Retire Vastra and Jenny (apparently they're married by the way). Move Strax to UNIT.
I'm fine with all of the Paternoster peoples.
Of course I'm willing to be proved wrong. Paternoster Gang have potential.
Moffat said he'd never bring Jack back just for the sake of bringing him back. That's exactly what he's doing with Paternoster Gang.
Silurian's emerging in Victorian London would be a great story for Paternoster. Who does Vastra choose? Her blood? Her family? Or Strax reaching puberty and needing to carry out a traditional Sontaran hunt on a distant planet. Alone he must defeat a vicious beast in the wilderness of Sontar's fifth moon. He doesn't stand a chance, he's a nurse. But he's too proud to directly ask The Doctor for help.
There's potential for these characters. But so far they've been background slapstick and crude efforts to crowbar diversity into the show purely for the sake of it. This story didn't need them. We have Clara as our constant.
Silurian's emerging in Victorian London would be a great story for Paternoster. Who does Vastra choose? Her blood? Her family?
I would MUCH rather this storyline with Strax.
I would MUCH rather this storyline with Strax.
It would work for either. I think Strax would probably be better as we've not had a Sontaran story in donkeys. But there's much more you can do with Strax than Vastra right now. Who purely exists to remind everybody she's a lesbian, a lizard and make jokes about Sherlock Holmes.
Just watched In the loop for the first time. I want an angry sweary doctor now
Also the informant was called "Iceman" and that made me think of freeze. coincidence? I think not
Kill off Jenny and Vasta, keep Strax tia
Was just watching the promo for Into the Dalek, spotted this fella:

Is that Dolorous Edd?
It is.
Daleks just need to roll in and exterminate people without hesitation to put this episode above three years of Dalek appearances. If they're rolling in and exterminating people because they're Daleks and not because of some unnecesary contained masterplan which The Doctor will easily foil in the last two minutes... Into the Dalek gets a further automatic ascencion...
...that's my logic and I'm sticking to it. Merciless killing, Ford/Moff/Wheatley.... mercliess killing.
Any cries of "Seek! Locate! Destroy!" during said merciless killing will gain bonus points. *grumble, grumble, time war*

Deep Breath hauled in $629,219 in AUS
Is that all? I am disappointed, Australia.

I feel like you can put any 'mindblowing' line on that first image and make it fit.
Our man Moffat won himself an Emmy for his Sherlock episode, last night.
[sp]I always like each Doctor a lot more once they've left the show. I spent Seasons 2-4 missing Eccleston and Seasons 5-7 missing Tennant. I spent this episode missing Smith which made the cameo so good for me.[/sp]
