Sweet. Total TV Guide have called it favourite (I took this picture for you guys). They weren't too positive in the Smith years. Often paying episodes back handed compliments. This is nice. It has been noted that The Doctor did some more physical investigative work, last episode - as opposed to waving the sonic around and looking at the screen which doesn't exist upon it for information. Hopefully a trend of a bit more restraint.

The greatest honor. The highest authority.

Deep Breath: 8.78m ...a small step over Smith and Jones. Coming to get you, Impossible Astronaut. We should get at least 4th place in Series Openers.
is there anywhere I can watch Deep Breath since I don't have cable?
Did he just get people on the street to film it and soak him with water? And then hug him? [editline]28th August 2014[/editline]
Matt Smith did the Ice Bucket Challenge aswell, and nominated Karen Gillan. I think I'm a bit late as this was 7 days ago but still, haven't seen it :v:
Karen Gillan did hers here. Dressed as a power ranger. She nominates Steven Moffat. Ice Buckets come to the set of Doctor Who.

Doctor Who filmed literally outside my house! Terror of the Autons was filmed in Dunstable. A Dalek episode once name dropped the town. The above location is Blows Downs. It sits between Caddington and Dunstable. It's about 5 minutes walk away from me, I can see it outside my window. I'd get a photo but I think it's private property and trespassers are prosecuted. I never knew how close Doctor Who was to me!
I remember seeing a rerun of this episode when I was a kid, it was one of my first exposures to Doctor Who and the Autons were fucking terrifying.

Fan art. It's great. [editline]28th August 2014[/editline] I'm basically scrolling through a week's worth of Tumblr. Saw this along the way:

Loki went to a cinema screening!
Loki went to a cinema screening!
Another genuinely nice person I wouldn't mind being in Doctor Who at one point.
http://www.radiotimes.com/companionchampion Classic Who slaughterhouse.
How is Leela losing to the tin dog
Adric or River? Who do I hate more? It's basically sacrilege that anybody is voting for Vastra or Jenny. Let alone the fact Jenny is wining against Tegan when they're not companions.
this companion quiz makes it painfully obvious that most people voting on it haven't seen any classic who it's really pissing me off because BASED CHESTERTON is losing to a comic relief character that relies on the same basic joke to keep going
I've seen classic Who and I prefer Strax to Ian.

Just watched the Happiness Patrol. The Kandyman is such a fucking pushover.
Nope. Brigadier, Jamie and Rory trump him in my book. Ian just exists to be pessimist, told to shut up in favour of Babara, and then do some action.
I quite like the Perenium Club or whatever they're called. I do think that Moffat was slightly heavy handed with their dialogue to the point of it feeling a bit drawn out and unnatural ('I don't like her ma'am, I love her' could easily have been a coy smile and 'I love her') but I think they're a great interesting addition that adds a fair bit of good representation to the show
paternoster
paternoster
bless you
For some reason, I just loved the line "Hello, hello, rubbish robots from the dawn of time." I like the idea that Capaldi is just going to be an angry bastard to everybody.
http://www.radiotimes.com/companionchampion Classic Who slaughterhouse.
Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to pit Turlough against Rose? And Mickey over Leela? Really? The leather leotard isn't tempting the fanboys? Interesting to see Jamie & Nyssa neck & neck, though
Man I love that quote from Deep Breath. He was as much talking about the Droid, as he was talking to himself actually.
Sure, it was a good scene but it felt really forced and shoehorned in. It could have done without the audience seeing the Doctors reflection and just seeing the Doctor looking at the back of the platter and looking ashamed or nothing at all as it's not hard for the audience to make the comparison between the speech and the Doctor. Also, it feels like it was written more for Matt as some of the lines don't exactly fit in an episode about accepting a new Doctor ("There's not a trace of the original you left.")
The fact Ace is losing to captain jack pisses me off so much
