I thought this was an awesome episode and actually sticks out compared to the host of other Who episodes over the years.
i feel like they wasted Wheatley, this episode had a lot of potential for some psychedelic shit like when they first enter the Dalek.
I'm starting to wonder if there's some relevance to the people who go to meet Missy. Gretchen sacrificed herself, and it's possible that the Half-Faced Man did too- which potentially answers that question. Maybe she's specifically collecting people who sacrifice themselves for a greater good?
Shit. Shit writing, shit camera angles, shit slow motion effects, shit background music, shit episode. Gonna give it one more episode, but I have a feeling next week's will be shit as well, seeing as it's been the trend for the majority of episodes in the last couple of seasons, especially since Clara appeared.

Much better than last weeks IMO. Capaldi is really good.
o ye i really don't like Clara either EDIT: did the daleks sound off to anyone else?
bring back captain jack.
I've noticed some really shitty looking camera close-ups when a character is falling, it happened with 12 falling through the tree in the first episode, and now it happened with pretty much all the characters in this episode jumping down a tube. It looks so shit and fails to make me believe they're falling, more flailing their arms about.
regardless of questionable camerawork i loved 12's writing "don't be a lasagne"

I wouldn't be surprised if they put a fan under him, zoom in and move the background fast.
he's an old man.
o ye i really don't like Clara either EDIT: did the daleks sound off to anyone else?
I thought they had a bit of an accent.
felt that was a really good episode though, love capaldi pretty much having a comment for everything that happens.
fun fact: that was the first story not to feature Matt Smith as the Doctor since The Waters of Mars
Onwards to Doctor Who Extra
i feel like they wasted Wheatley, this episode had a lot of potential for some psychedelic shit like when they first enter the Dalek.
there's a difference between them wasting wheatley and wheatley wasting it if he wanted he could have done psychedelic shit, he just didn't
Look how happy he is to see Daleks blown up! Fabulous. He's running around with a camera! : D
there's a difference between them wasting wheatley and wheatley wasting it if he wanted he could have done psychedelic shit, he just didn't
uhhhhhhhhhhh im pretty sure the script has to specify something happening, the director cant just put stuff in
Enjoyed it more than Shakespeare Code, Beast Below, Curse of the Black Spot & Dinosaurs on a Spaceship.
Enjoyed it more than Shakespeare Code, Beast Below, Curse of the Black Spot & Dinosaurs on a Spaceship.
1 x agree apart from Dinosaurs.
Did anyone notice the Ancient Rome display conveniently placed outside of the cupboard? :v:
Hey guys, mind tagging those spoilers until it airs in America?
Is Robin Hood played byMatthew Baynton in the next episode?
Hey guys, mind tagging those spoilers until it airs in America?
maybe you shouldn't read the thread straight after broadcast in the country of origin m8
Hey guys, mind tagging those spoilers until it airs in America?
Seeing as the thread title is 'Speculation and spoilers', it'd probably be a good idea to stay out of the thread entirely until it's aired in America.
maybe you shouldn't read the thread straight after broadcast in the country of origin m8
I've already seen it over iPlayer using Hola, I was more concerned for other Americans on the thread.
if they're going to come into the board after a broadcast, that's their own problem. i'm not going to police spoilers for someone else.
The Guardian. . . on its own terms, Into the Dalek works fantastically well. The claustrophobic tension of the journey into Rusty’s bowels is juxtaposed with some proper epic space battles and explosions, to make it feel (in a good way) much longer than its 45 minutes. We get into some meaty character work with the Doctor, at the end, who is genuinely troubled at the Dalek looking inside his soul and seeing hatred. We get some stunning production design and a Dalek being a bit camp. It has to be said: this was better than we might have expected from an episode two. The Independent. ‘Into the Dalek’ reflects the darker and more adult tone that the makers of the show are now going for. Admittedly, it did feel like the audience was going on a psychedelic acid trip with Capaldi when he connected with the Dalek, but aside from that it was a strong instalment of Doctor Who. The Telegraph. Eccentricity is part and parcel of the Doctor, of course, but at the moment Capaldi’s character tics and verbal delivery seem just a tiny bit forced – as if he’s over-determined to establish the new personality, which is understandable. But Capaldi is such a fine actor, these should soon blend seamlessly into the Time Lord’s endearing character. It may be hard to believe in a good Dalek, but after Saturday night it is easy to believe this will be a good Doctor.
Thwt episode was great. Darleks actually kill people now, and darleks actually die now. the acting was brilliant. one of my fav episodes.
