the first two episodes have definitely not impressed me so far
i dunno why, they've just been... boring
maybe it's just the first few episodes trying to ease you into it or something but they just haven't had any kind of draw
I am sort of curious that as I wonder what horrors await me as I get into more classic Doctor Who post Davison, only seen Rememberence Of The Daleks so far which is great but even then the presentation is incredibly dated I find even for my high tolerance levels. This video is intensifying the gritting of my teeth that started with the regeneration scene at the end of The Caves Of Androzani.
Time and the Rani has endured the rage and derision for many a Whovian and has made at least one individual who knew a DW reviewer give up the show to the point of not watching the revived series. If you can't take the engimatic Seventh Doctor acting like an idiot, one of the worst regenerations, the Rani at her worse, the show's earliest attempts at CGI, the pure controversey that is Mel, or mixed-up metaphors, it'd be best to avoid.

I think I'm going to stay true to what I said before and get them as part of getting all the fully existing Classic stories on DVD as possible. Its just a question of whether to take the poison first or later when I start running out of material from before then.

I wonder if Capaldi will get his own sonic design sometime.
I kind of want a red crystal on the current one for him, because I think it would suit him.
There's a new arrival at the Doctor Who Experience / Roath Lock :v:

Who is Phil Morris and why should we care about his opinions?

He's our missing episode hunter.
So hype for Freeze Sr.!
And according to rumour sitting on a pile of Missing Episodes and refusing to let them go until he decides he wants to.
The whole time being a massive attention seeker and little bitch on social media. Teasing fans that good things are ahead and showing off about how he knows so much more than everybody else.
A complete dick.

Leaked emails between the BFI and an Philip Morris (you can tell it's him by his grammar and use of full stops) show he won't actually give the episodes to the BFI until he finishes a "quest"...

It's all very very odd.

Heck, I'm afraid of McGunn.
A scene has been cut from Robot of Sherwood due to recent events. If you want to know what it is look at my next sentences but it spoils part of the episode.
[sp]There was a decapitation scene around the climax of the episode but it has been cut due to to the recent events where some journalists were beheaded by IS militants in the last month.[/sp]

Fucking lame
But beyond understandable. It's a hugely sensitive media issue. BBC is supposed to function on tax-payer money. The tax payer will find anything to be upset with.
This isn't just playing it safe. It would certainly get complaints. I'd rather lose a scene than have the episode cut entirely from the schedule, which is certainly the only other alternative.
Guess I'll be finding the screener afterwards :v:
The article states it comes at an important time, so will be interested to see how much was cut.
I dunno, Utopia had a school shooting scene broadcast in full less than a week after one of the US shootings happened and no one really cared. Cutting it seems a bit daft considering it was written, shot and edited months before the incident happened.
Like, if people were offended by it or whatever then they should probably try growing up
lol do people really not understand that fiction isn't reality.. like????????? doing shit like this is retarded to me

Thought you meant Utopia the Who episode then, was thinking how the fuck I forgot that!

It's not about mistaking it for reality. It's about being reminded of an actual event which physically upsets people. Let's imagine they keep it in:
1) Upset people complain. "We shouldn't be paying for this shit".
2) Ofcom will rule in favourite of the complaints. The BBC had adequate time to edit it's material in light of events.
3) BBC is fined. That'll be a big figure. Somebody might lose their job. Who now pays for that fine? The taxpayer? No? The people responsible? Absolutely. Doctor Who team then has to fork over cash.
4) Less budget to make Doctor Who or somebody gets a pay cut. BBC ends up keeping a closer regulatory eye on things to stop it happening again. Content is effected.
All of which is so simply avoided. Buy cutting it out and putting it back on the DVD. Simple. One beheading won't change the episode that dramatically. Otherwise they wouldn't have cut it.

nope, still idiotic. who the fuck is watching Doctor Who and thinking "oh shit a beheading, just like what's happening in the news!"
people need to draw a distinct line between entertainment and the news.

Utopia is Channel 4. Not the BBC.
People complained about Clarkson mumbling a word that sounds a bit like "nigger" in a cut outtake that was never aired. People complained about a lesbian kiss in Deep Breath.
The BBC attracts complaints. "Grow up" is sadly not a good enough defence for Ofcom when having an upsetting scene in a family drama. Utopia was pretty much expected to have upsetting content. Channel 4 is expected.
People probably would have complained - but steps 2-4 probably wouldn't have come to pass. I doubt the original scene is bad enough to begin with - it still is DW.
Just a precaution.

News? It's not about the news. It's a terrifying terrorism organisation that actually exists and is executing innocent people. One only a couple of days ago. Another inevitably soon. Believe it or not there are terrified people out there. Terrified people that don't want to be reminded about a genuine horror in their family escapism.
I don't like the cut. But I'm not going to be cold and unfeeling. Neither are the BBC they'll get fucking destroyed. It's 2014, people hate the BBC. They don't need to give another reason.

Exactly this. If you don't take these precautions you land in big shit. The BBC is not a fan of big shit.
They should leave the scene in and put that warning at the end: "If you or any of your family were affected by the events depicted in this programme, please phone..."
Outpost Skaro Spoiler-Free Review
The thing about Robot of Sherwood is that, well, it’s funny. Laugh out-loud funny. And all the main cast get that and play to it completely. Peter Capaldi’s acid sarcasm is tailor made for this type of episode, and he’s a wonderful foil for Tom Riley’s perfect Robin Hood.
