Ever heard of the Streisand effect, Dan? Guarantee if the scene was kept in, nobody would have noticed it or pulled it up. If it was a beheading scene in a desert with American prisoners, yeah, I can see why you'd remove it. But it's not. It's Doctor Who. It's a story about Robin fucking Hood.
Over two years since poor Oswin..
It does not feel like 2 years of Jenna

Okay what about the beheading that happened in this country today?
It's just being respectful.
THE MALFUNCTION IS CORRECTED!
Love the music in that scene.
you keeping saying it but don't link it grizz, I have no idea what you're talking about as my memory of the episode isn't that good :v:
Asylum of the Daleks is glorious. Do not get the heavy level of hate for it.

I do? I don't remember.
I can give you a hint, though, it's the major scene where the malfuction is corrected :v:
It wouldn't surprise me if the cut content gets put back in some time down the line. Possibly in the Blu-ray release or a future broadcast of the episode. I just hope it doesn't go missing like the cliffhanger for Episode 3 of The Deadly Assassin (Damn you Mary Whitehouse) leaving us with a poorer quality copy.

It seems to boil down to an objection to the idea of Dalek Parliament, a criticism of the manner in which Amy & Rory are suddenly in a marriage crisis, the "EVERY DALEK EVER!" Promise fizzling hard when the Classic Daleks were demoted to an I Spy role due to nobody telling the director to give them the spotlight, and the idea of the Daleks getting a Doctor-memory-wipe, particularly after TotD quickly undid it a year later.

Personally, and I NEVER thought I'd say this, I found that "Clara" was the only good thing about Asylum...

The whole Dalek memory wipe was before we knew that Matt Smith was leaving the show so they had to write it out somehow
You know, maybe it's just that I've been re-watching a couple Matt Smith episodes, but I don't think that they deserve all the flak that they got. Admittedly some moments are better than others, I should probably refrain from judging until I watched them all. I do remember being bored with a couple episodes when they aired, but some of them are likeable.
The 'The Impossible Planet' two-parter is still one of the best stories in my opinion. It does a very good [sp]Satan[/sp] which is the sort of thing that could have and has been be done very lazily.
So did anyone explain how the Dalek eye stalk was sort of like liquid?
So did anyone explain how the Dalek eye stalk was sort of like liquid?
It's been said several times in the revived series that the eyestalk is organic, or at least a vulnerability. I guess the whole liquid-y thing was an explanation why it's a weakspot.
Odd how Eckle-Beckle forgot to tell the yanks that in Dalek.
Capaldi’s Doctor so far has been portrayed as a much colder incarnation. Here, while still prickly, he gets to let his hair down a bit and have more fun with the role. From the start Capaldi seems to be channelling more of Jon Pertwee’s third incarnation as a man of action.
The Daleks in TotD probably came at a time before the memory wipe.
The Daleks last week didn't know who the Doctor was.
Dalek mutants are born hating. This is what stokes the fire. Extinguishes even the tiniest glimmer of kindness or compassion. Imagine the worst possible thing in the universe, and then don’t bother – because you’re looking at it right now. Evil refined as engineering.
Very much enjoying Doctor Who speeches in Malcolm Tucker's voice :v:
So much gravitas in Doc12. That opening scene with Journey is perfect.

Planets in the title sequence -- worth a closer look. #DoctorWho
Guess it's too early to say with any certainty, but three of them could pass for the three seen in episode 2 - and another is very moon-like, I suppose :v: Though the one circling the logo will always be Gallifrey, even if it isn't orange enough. There will be no disputing.

No, memories of The Doctor were extracted from the cadaver of Tasha Lem.
They probably didn't know that that the Doctor was the Doctor because of the fact he just has regenerated.
"just regenerated" means absolutely nothing, he's a time traveler. the daleks could have seen him loads as 12.

Plus black gloves and dramatic attitude (from what I've seen)? I'm holding this new headcanon high for next episode
I like Clara and don't want her to leave, but since she is leaving (she is leaving, right?) I hope there is more to it than her having to choose between Danny "Mickey 2.0" Pink and The Doctor.
