It was filmed in a forest and a castle... what more could you want for scenes set in a forest and a castle? Robot of Sherwood - 5.2m Slightly up on last week, second place for the day - below The X Factor.
Yeah, but like one square foot of a forest. Maybe I have a wierd idea of what castles looked like in their day. Or maybe it was the lighting. [editline]7th September 2014[/editline] Maybe I'm too used to CGI D:
Fforest Fawr and Caerphilly Castle. Titles tweaked again. Somebody has one job and they're doing it wrong. http://i.imgur.com/IQYKp6L.jpg
Just watched this weeks episode, was a lot better than I expected. Though I am getting rather jaded by the whole "aliens and robots hiding amongst the humans, and killing them/repairing their spaceship" trope.
Into the Dalek: 7.29m *** "I HAVEN'T ALWAYS GOT A PLAN, CLARA - I'M NOT MADE OF PLANS!" Remember that line? You're amongst the few that will :v:

[editline]7th September 2014[/editline] Oh man i hope peter stays for atleast 3-4 seasons
okay that was a pretty good episode
Am I the only one who thinks the golden arrow didn't actually work, hence them blowing up when they got outside. Sure, everybody thinks it works, but you see Capaldi isn't looking happy about the whole thing, he knows it didn't work. Also, no missy?
Wait, his costume has purple? Nobody told me purple was happening
Here's a close-up of the fabric [t]http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3_kRwkVwR8g/U203uywyLtI/AAAAAAAATKM/vfmBFqJDLxA/s1600/Crombie+with+ruler+crop.jpg[/t] Courtsey of http://twelfthdoctorcostume.blogspot.dk/search?updated-max=2014-07-28T13:27:00%2B01:00&max-results=12&start=10&by-date=false

the golden arrow was only there so they could launch enough to be at a safe distance without it the ship would have exploded so close to the earth that it would have killed everyone edit: i got ninja'd
Capaldi really is my favorite Doctor. These episodes have been pretty good!
BBCA's trailer music isn't always necessary :v: I liked the Splitting the Arrow stuff in Doctor Who Extra - practical effects are the best.
I've never seen any of the classic episodes, but capaldi is what I imagine the first doctor was like. Which makes sense, given that he's the start of a new regeneration cycle and all.
Well I think they're trying to make it similar to the earlier Doctors', as Capaldi grew up watching them.

[editline]7th September 2014[/editline] Oh man i hope peter stays for atleast 3-4 seasons
The beheading scene was cut, the Sheriff was supposed to have been beheaded part-way through the final fight and then put his head back on (being part-robot and all)
Well I think they're trying to make it similar to the earlier Doctors', as Capaldi grew up watching them.
He's totally channeling the 3rd Doctor with all the Kung-Fu
As much as I want to hear 12's theme in full - I'm glad it's seemingly being used sparingly so far if we have heard it already. On the subject of music, they brought back the 2005-07 sting for episode 3. They're rather insecure about their title sequence. The banter between Robin and the Doctor was great. [editline]7th September 2014[/editline]
Just watched this weeks episode, was a lot better than I expected. Though I am getting rather jaded by the whole "aliens and robots hiding amongst the humans, and killing them/repairing their spaceship" trope.
I think that's on purpose. They even point it out.
At least the spoon wasn't just a random thing he had in his coat
I do like it better after second viewing, I just keep spotting some lazy scenes such as the sheriff wiping non-existent blood from his sword, etc. I spot these things, maybe the casual viewer won't but it annoys me. What makes this episode funny for me is Robin Hood's laugh and that it pisses the 12th Doctor off :v: It would be less funny if it was Smith, but Capaldi.

Deciding to do what that Zeb does when he watches the episode by avoiding the next time trailer. I remember being younger when Series 1 and 2 aired and I'd not look ahead (episode titles and plot details) for the series, but would watch the trailer at the end of the episode. It made me enjoy those series a lot more.. But I think I'm going to avoid it altogether and wait a week for the episode to hit me with it, which will make me anticipate it a lot more.
So now that we have lots of content with Capaldi as the Doctor, where are the inevitable mashups with The Thick of It?
So now that we have lots of content with Capaldi as the Doctor, where are the inevitable mashups with The Thick of It?
I would probably have my channel removed if I did one on YouTube again :v: But more have to be done.
My favourite part of Capaldi is that he never wanted, created, or had a moment where he stepped into the role of the Doctor. There was no "run", sycorax sword fight, or roof-top intimidations ending in "basically, run". The closest to him settling into his new personality is taking off the (funnily enough, Smith) mask or getting coffee with Clara at the end of Deep Breath. He's just already doing what he needs to do without a a need for thanks or bravado. From Smith to Capaldi at the end of TOtD with the nearly instantaneous regeneration. Straight away, he just is The Doctor. I love it.

Limbs are removed without blood loss. They avoid incinerations. It's painfully obvious but I don't expect it will change. Not really a big deal. We should be happy that there is so much death this series... and then get hype for episode 4. ** Filming begins for the Christmas special. A crew has been reported at Loch Affric in the Scottish highlands.

EDIT: Just watching that back, I've just noticed the really obvious cut between the main segment of bollocking and the sheepish "yeah" by Phil. Obviously he started to laugh or something. I dunno how he held a straight face during that.
There are so many obvious cuts in TTOI and not all of them are extended through deleted scenes :v: I do wonder how many bursts of laughter were cut out.
I dunno why but I always imagine the cast burst out laughing but Capaldi to stay in character the whole time. The way they filmed it was brutal as fuck, really early starts and late finishes with changes to the script being done in the morning so the cast didn't really know their lines to simulate the stressful environment politicians work in. It's genius.
I'm not sure having a sword dripping with the ripe blood of a brutally murdered father is really appropriate for a Children's programme.
