ok with this logic, surely the 11th Doctor thought it was gonna fail anyway? He must have known there was an incomplete number of Doctors up to him to pull it off, because he thought he was the last regeneration.
there's no reason why an older version of the 11th doctor couldn't have shown up (and probably when the 11th saw the 13th tardis that's what he thought it was)
I somehow have the feeling that all this promised land references will be leading up to something we'll see in series 9, and not at the end of this series. Similar to the silence references in series 5.
It's definitely addressed in the two-part finale. Whether that's the end of it..... I was very happy when we got the makings of a two-series story in 2010. How was I to know it was actually a three-series story split across four years with no sense of chronology and little evidence of future planning? This time, one series: beginning -> middle -> end? That would be reassuring. Wouldn't it also be possible that both versions of Ten showed up too? He counted him as two Doctors in Time
One is in another universe without a TARDIS though.
SciFiBulletin Spoiler-Free Review
It’s a tour de force for Peter Capaldi, director Douglas Mackinnon and writer Steven Moffat but there will be those who think that it goes to places that the show shouldn’t.
http://scifibulletin.com/doctor-who/reviews/review-doctor-who-series-8-episode-4-listen-spoiler-free/ ** SFX Preview
There’s a scene so creepy full-grown adults may feel the need to sleep with the lights on this Saturday, let alone young ‘uns.
http://www.sfx.co.uk/2014/09/10/doctor-who-8-04-listen-spoiler-free-preview/
Wouldn't it also be possible that both versions of Ten showed up too? He counted him as two Doctors in Time
No because if 11 wasn't finished with the calculations yet (as shown by Capaldi showing up) nor would either versions of 10.
omg its so scurry quotes
they were saying stuff like this in early reviews of Night Terrors as well though so
they were saying stuff like this in early reviews of Night Terrors as well though so
This episode is classic Moffat though. From what people on 4chan have said about the leak it's genuinely scary and is a great episode. Obviously the direction is gonna be shit, though.
they were saying stuff like this in early reviews of Night Terrors as well though so
...and there were probably plenty of children scared by something in Night Terrors. Not just that it had a Mark Gatiss credit. I don't expect Doctor Who horror to scare me any longer - so long as it scares somebody.

Not just that it had a Mark Gatiss credit. I don't expect Doctor Who horror to scare me any longer - so long as it scares somebody.
Woah it's like I'm reading a post made by me or something I expect Listen to scare me because I'm a big scaredy cat. I'm never going to rewatch The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances ever because it basically traumatized me as a child. The last time I watched them was when I was 8 or 9. I hope this is on par.
I was done with Doctor Who after two episodes thanks to a next time trailer.
hahaha yeah that episode didn't really bother me, i dont know why. The Empty Child two parter fully put me off though. I finished watching series 1 and then I just skipped series 2. I watched Army of Ghosts/Doomsday I think. I'd grown up in time for s3, thank God. Blink made me jump but it didn't freak me out as badly as those fucking gas mask zombies smh.
Empty Child, Blink and (allegedly) Listen are the ones that scare grown ups. All have fairly "eh?" next time trailers too. While the scariest things about a Mark Gatiss episode is usually the trailer and the episode ends up being the "eh?"
Given that we haven't seen anything from the second half of the series - wonder if we'll get a mid-series trailer. Every episode from 7 onwards sounds like serious trailer-bait :v: Though I appreciate the mystery. THE DARKNESS IS COMING. IT HAS FOLLOWED THE TRAVELER ACROSS THE STARS
The descriptions for the last few episodes makes it sound like The Doctor is gonna go full dick mode and alienate Clara a lot. I hope this happens. I want to see a full dick mode 12. [editline]10th September 2014[/editline] [t]http://i.imgur.com/rrptliN.jpg[/t] So guys, what do we reckon. Location reuse or something else?
WalesOnline Preview
The latest episode of Doctor Who – which is called Listen – will leave you lost for words. And that’s not an idle claim because I’ve seen it and I’m struggling to find adjectives for such an amazing episode.
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/spoiler-free-preview-episode-four-7748933
:v:
I knew I'd seen it from somewhere other than Doctor Who
Does anyone else think that central fountain thing looks a bit like the TARDIS control console? Or is that the point?
Does anyone else think that central fountain thing looks a bit like the TARDIS control console? Or is that the point?
Sticking with the time capsule theory. The droid could have been repaired, the soldier didn't die on-screen. But how they get there... is not... the question. THE QUESTION IS... why do they want to get there in such a hurry? ** Good news, EG - Capaldi is in full hair mode for Christmas
based crazy hair capaldi
Definitely resued assets.
It probably is just reused but it is slightly odd that they did the shot at practically the exact same angle.

Perhaps Listen will get a ratings boost from the Tumble Grand Final. Robot of Sherwood Ratings Update Live + VOSDAL: 5.221m + Day 1 & 2: 6.657m (Day 1: 1.142m , Day 2: 294k) + Day 3: 6.805m + Day 4: 6.952m *** GallifreyTimes Listen Preview
Ultimately, Listen will be an episode that is remembered until the very end of Doctor Who. When I read that review out to my friend, he let out the girliest squeal I've ever heard. The hype is real.
Outpost Skaro Review
Sometimes, Doctor Who is like wine. Occasionally it’s a fizzy little Lambrusco, just there to set you up for a Saturday night. Sometimes, it’s a medium priced red, full bodied, hard hitting, and perhaps not to everyone’s taste. Sometimes though, just sometimes, Doctor Who is a 1907 Malvazia Madeira Pereira d’Oliveira, the finest of wines, an exquisite, crafted and extraordinary thing. Listen is an episode like that.
http://www.outpostskaro.com/2014/09/10/listen-review-by-eddie-mcguigan/
Doctor Who: New Generation will see the Matt Smith era released in Japan starting with his debut series on 3rd October 2014, with the sixth and seventh series following over the next few months. The episodes will be fully dubbed into Japanese, with the voice of the eleventh Doctor portrayed by Tokuyoshi Kawashima, Amy by Kana Uetake, Rory by Yoshiki Nakajima, and River Song by Kozue Harashima.
Should have been Doctor Who: The Next Generation :v:
I just watched The Five Doctors and it sort of annoyed me how 1 was portrayed as the wisest of the four Doctors even though he's the youngest. It also amused me to no end whenever he called 5 "my boy"
