[sp]The Time War was explicitly stated to be time-locked. But Gallifrey still existed in our Universe before the war... and although I imagine there is a rule about Time Lords revisiting out of order, it must be theoretically accessible[/sp]
nah this doesn't sit well with me. Otherwise the Doctor would have visited it loads after "destroying" it, I don't think he would have given a shit about the rules.
but my last word was literally 'it's all up to interpretation'
yeah but then Grizz was saying how you're probably more right than us because you're connected to the show. Don't really like that.
Also fuck you for fucking my automerge, Freeze!! Oh, also, I'm really excited for next week and Flatline now.
yeah but then Grizz was saying how you're probably more right than us because you're connected to the show. Don't really like that.
I think you've misunderstood (or misinterpreted, even) Grizz's post. The point wasn't that my interpretation of the episode is more right, the point was that me saying the intention (of the production team) is more right (with the intention being for it to be up to interpretation and not 100% either way).
I (and I think everyone else) would never claim to have a more important interpretation of the meaning of the episode. In my opinion there was no creature (except for possibly a creature that has perfect hiding existing in general) but I can see arguments both ways, and it's just one man's opinion. :v:
okay you have satiated me
fucking 10/10 episode, i cant stress this enough. S8 might be my favourite series so far.
Is he blaming me for things again?
nah this doesn't sit well with me. Otherwise the Doctor would have visited it loads after "destroying" it, I don't think he would have given a shit about the rules.

I think he would. I doubt he could go that unnoticed on a thriving Gallifrey. Then what? Suddenly, 4 turns up and learns that 12 has been knocking about. Any interaction with his kind could cause complications. 12 shouldn't even exist.
Even the TARDIS was pissed at Clara again. All those red lights and hissing :v:

I didn't even notice the very spooky 'liiiiiisteeeen' 12 hears on the ship, the first time... apparently more attentive at 2am.
It's a fact that everything is your fault, Grizz. Yeah. The "Listen" on the ship........ that doesn't exist ok.
Listen was fucking amazing.
Does anyone know what the track that played at the end was?

Deserved more. Word of mouth should give it a good timeshift.
Yo, after complaining about the first two episodes a couple of weeks ago and accidentally missing Robot of Sherwood I am officially on the series 8 train. That was a fantastic episode, Capaldi is going crazy with the acting and he's great so far. Let's see if the next episode can keep up the momentum because it looks like it's going to.
first doctor confirmed for series 8 return!!
I wouldn't lie to you guys.
I just found the episode to be, well, allright.
It was far better than the first two but for me it lacked a real bite to it, Capaldi was the best he's been thus far as The Doctor and I liked the toing and froing between Pink and Clara, character wise, yeah great, amazing I really liked it. The story, not so much, there was a lot of build with no real pay off to it; it was like waiting to sneeze, you get all this build waiting for something to happen and then... nothing, it just fades away or lots of build and... nothing, oh wait The Doctor is in trouble. But I found it oddly fascinating and enjoyed trying to unravel the mystery of it all was fun but I can't say I'm too pleased at how it ended but that's not enough to condemn it, possibly aspects of it will be explored more towards the end of the series but, well, I'm not raving.
Though with that said I did like the direction that this episode too, there was non of the silly 'Dum-dum-d-dum-DUM-DUM-D-DUUMM!' sounds or running about pointing at things as Doctor Who has been for far too bloody long and if the rest of the series starts to move more in this direction I'll be very much happy, but looking at next week's episode... erm... well... we'll see...
Oh Balls.
I just realised there was nothing that stuck out to me that was silly, dumb or horribly reused from other episodes, well...
Crap...
I suppose it was more than alright after all...
I wouldn't lie to you guys.
holy shit. we've been double-mackinnon-fucked.
I love Peter, he really makes the Doctor, he pours his soul into it and it's true since he always wanted to be The Doctor when he was watching it back in the original series, I love how he is more "Original" Doctor, than the "New" Doctors, everything was more serious back then, and they have it like it now.
I like to think Peter convinced them to do it this way.

He said he had to be convinced that there were going in a direction he was happy with before taking the part. In what way, he didn't specify - but that's saying something for the super-fan.
Am I a bad person for liking everything about Listen up until the last 5 minutes?
I am getting tired of Companions being a Special person, that last bit with [sp]The young doctor[/sp] was nice, but at the same time, it was kinda silly to do that.

Oh yeah forgot about that [sp]How do they grant it? So do none time lords have 1 heart like the doctors parents/carers[/sp]
I thought that the Gallifreyans as a species had two hearts?
Oh yeah forgot about that how do they grant it? [sp]So do none time lords have 1 heart like the doctors parents/carers[/sp]
Maybe someone else can take over I don't actually know the answer to that.
Also just noticed no Missy/Promised land this ep unless it was subtle as fuck
Nah I couldn't see or hear any "Promised Land" stuff in Listen, most likely because there weren't any robots and there wasn't any death.
So far that's what seems to bring about a glimpse or mention of Missy and her Promised Land; if there are sentient robots the Promised Land may be mentioned, and if people die with the Doctor's involvement there is a likelihood for Missy to snap them up and welcome them to her realm. Also, hopefully in the finale we get to meet Rusty again if he died fighting the Daleks. I mean, if there's any Dalek that deserves to go to the Promised Land, it's good ol' Rusty. And if not, let's hope he had a fair few ventures regardless.
So I was looking at the wifi networks my phone was picking up:

'The Promised LAN'
I think a neighbour might be a fan.
Maybe someone else can take over I don't actually know the answer to that.
maybe what makes a Time Lord is the ability to regenerate, which we saw in Time of the Doctor is just granted by pumping some energy into the person. And access to time travel. And vast knowledge.

The phrase "The promised land" is a bit older than this series of Dr Who.
I know, but since where I live is full of students, I'm pretty sure it's a who reference.
or someone's become a born again christian. neither would surprise me in america.
EDIT: lmao i just read your title and now im ashamed, that was a great joke too
