Didn't we have Ms. Blue (or something similar) in the 'Into The Dalek' episode?
Journey Blue, yeah. Moffat missed a trick, he should have put Danny in Time Heist and had a Reservoir Dogs reference.
I myself like the bit in the restaurant it felt the most real a relationship and exchange I think I've seen in Who, possibly full stop, a nice counterpoint to the tear down the cheek bit from the first episode that Mr. Pink was introduced in, I mean really, the pauses were enough in that to show that he was troubled the tear bit was overkill.
The conversation between Clara and Danny was probably the worst part of the episode. It was like they had been told what human interaction was like but they had never experienced it themselves until then.
Hey, at least Moffat's trying.
Hey, at least Moffat's trying.
it's kind of like saying 'at least lucas was trying' though trying don't make you immune to criticism
I was getting heavy Blink and Midnight vibes from this episode which is nothing but a good thing to me because I liked those episodes.
Is it bad that I've still not seen 'Blink'?
Is it bad that I've still not seen 'Blink'?
uhh I dunno, was Hitler a bad person?? but nah the episode is flipping great and I kinda envy you for being able to watch it for the first time. Have fun w/ it (assuming you decide to watch it which everyone in here will presumably recommend you do)
Is it bad that I've still not seen 'Blink'?
Nah, tbf if Love & Monsters is anything to go by, Doctor-lite episodes are all shit.
Something tells me a lot of people are gonna dislike next week's episode because there's no way it can follow the act of Listen. (also it's partly written by Steven Thompson who hasn't exactly had great episodes in the past)
Honestly the thing that bugged me the most about this episode is that a creature with "perfect hiding" does exist and the doctor knows about them, the silents. He mentioned them in the christmas special so he clearly knows of them, even if due to their nature he can't remember what they look like.

except that's not perfect hiding, because he found them by definition you can never find out about perfect hiding (without being told about it)
sort of bothered me how the Doctor didn't mention Stick Insects or Chameleons or whatever in the intro. I mean, it's not perfect hiding but then the Blowfish doesn't have perfect defence because it can still be killed, and the lion isnt the perfect hunter because things can outrun it. Surely a working TARDIS has perfect hiding, also? A chameleon circuit would hide a TARDIS perfectly in plain sight, and TARDISes are living things.
Surely a working TARDIS has perfect hiding, also? A chameleon circuit would hide a TARDIS perfectly in plain sight, and TARDISes are living things.
scanners can still see the tardis easily so that sorta negates that
well in that case, what if someone invented a scanner that could detect the perfect hiding creature?
well in that case, what if someone invented a scanner that could detect the perfect hiding creature?
then it wouldn't be perfect hiding obviously this is taking the word 'perfect' quite literally, probably to a further extent than is needed
what if there was a perfect seeker
I saw a lot of similarities between this episode and Hide: - Time-travelling pioneer who is also a descendent of one of the characters, stranded with no hope of rescue - Spooky house set in the recent past, and talk of ghosts and spectres and so on - Not-quite-there monster you can only really feel on the back of your neck, or see out of the corner of your eye - That fucking spacesuit

For some reason I jumped to the conclusion that Moffat had originally written Listen for Smith but changed it once he realised that Smith was leaving and wanted to give Capaldi a proper solid episode (and himself more time to perfect it) but then I googled the episode and realised a) Moffat hadn't actually written the damn thing and b) I was fucking stupid [editline]14th September 2014[/editline] Plus, either episode name could've been used for Listen and they'd have both made sense.
what if there was a perfect seeker
his names harry potter m8
his names harry potter m8
goddammit
