My rewatch of Nu-Who has reached Dan's favourite episode. The Doctor's Daughter.
My rewatch of Nu-Who has reached Dan's favourite episode. The Doctor's Daughter.
Still a more tolerable Mary Sue than River bloody Song. At least River wasn't pushed into every plot point and made to be oh so super important.
Guys I have this to apologize for my overreacting http://imgur.com/a/wYOhc Time Heist promo pics!
Guys I have this to apologize for my overreacting http://imgur.com/a/wYOhc Time Heist promo pics!
I tripped on the steps of that building the night before that shot :v:
It's like one of the robots from the Unreal Tournament games, that design kicks ass. [t]http://i.imgur.com/rLg3D7G.jpg[/t]

Series 7 was on course to being the highest rated series before the break, thanks to the boost that the Strictly Come Dancing launch show gave it - 1.1m extra. The first live show rated higher, but 7A had ended by that point. Capaldi could have one hell of a debut series if we can get that again, consistently, for the second half of S8. With Peter on Graham Norton the day before, they're well aware.
“…we’re starting to have conversations about next year and I’m like ‘There are some amazing things coming along there!’ – Steven is telling me and I’m like, ‘Wow! Yeah!’ We’ve got some great ideas coming for 2015.”
<3
Dan I swear you don't watch things properly sometimes. The adults clearly state that he's scared of becoming a soldier or something like that.
No they don't. They say he won't be able to become a soldier if he keeps crying and then remember he doesn't want to be one anyway, he plans to go to the Timelord academy. The actual reason he's crying every night is a mystery. He can't even stop himself and has to sleep in the barn to hide from the other boys. I guess it could be because he's afraid of the dark but I like to imagine deeper darker mysteries in The Doctor's past. Ignore past me. Timehop has demonstrated I was a grade A bellend. And an idiot. I liked Robbie Williams and thought he was a good musician. I am sorry.

Listen Ratings Update Live + VOSDAL: 4.808m + Day 1: 6.125m + Day 2: 6.526m *** Blogtor Who Spoiler-Free Preview
Time Heist is a lovely bit of fun and a neat reminder that The Doctor is a good man, with a plan and wants to do the right thing. Even if he doesn't know it. Oh, and look out for a rather shocking reference to The Thick of It...
Link *** Warped Factor Spoiler-Free Review
In Time Heist it's not even a level playing field, there's no mistaking who's in charge - it's the eyebrows - and Clara is now much more the traditional companion - asking questions, taking direction. It's a shift in tone that will no doubt please some, and it will be interesting to see if it carries over into the subsequent stories. So make no mistake it's all about Capaldi here, and as you'd expect he is amazing. There's even a moment of pure (pre-watershed) Malcolm Tucker.
Link
Prediction: 'Omnishambles' will be used
nah it's obviously that the Doctor calls someone a cunt. "a neat reminder that The Doctor is a good man" dropped, golden age on pause, 0/10 bad episode
Just for the record. End of series speculation/rumours regarding [sp]Charles Dance Master[/sp] have sparked up again. Golden age restored?
[sp]don't get your hopes up[/sp]
Freeze I bet you were the thing under the bed sheet. Also can you shine light on this cut scene from Listen involving a creepy tree? Clara is wearing her dinner outfit so it must be from Listen.
Courtney, the annoying as fuck kid who keeps propping up, confirmed for [sp] companion in Kill the Moon [/sp] All my hype for that episode is dead and gone. Golden age over.
Freeze I bet you were the thing under the bed sheet.
you caught me :v:
Also can you shine light on this cut scene from Listen involving a creepy tree? Clara is wearing her dinner outfit so it must be from Listen.
it was a pretty basic scene that was cut for time, it was in the first cut (which I saw). basically it was clara hearing noises or something and then looking behind the tree (with nothing there).
Oh, I watched Midnight last night too. Probably my second favourite episode behind Listen, definitely the best RTD has ever done. David Tennant is sublime in this ep. I think I have some kind of weird fetish for the Doctor not understanding things.
Courtney, the annoying as fuck kid who keeps propping up, confirmed for [sp] companion in Kill the Moon [/sp] All my hype for that episode is dead and gone. Golden age over.
Even WalesOnline tried to warn you about that :v:
My top three favourite episodes are Listen, The Waters of Mars and The Day of the Doctor. I don't think I could rank them.
My top three favourite episodes are Listen, The Waters of Mars and The Day of the Doctor. I don't think I could rank them.
Feels a bit cheesy to me. I liked the concept of the monster and the Doctor arriving at a fixed point where he can't help (already explored a bit in Fires of Pompeii though), but everything else was ehhhh For me it's got to be Listen, Midnight and Dalek. EDIT: infact I'll list my favourite episode from each series. Everyone should do it, always nice to know who the plebs are. 1: Dalek 2: The Girl In The Fireplace 3: Family of Blood 2 parter 4: Midnight Specials: Waters of Mars 5: Amy's Choice 6a: The Doctor's Wife 6b: probably the weakest series of Nu-Who with no clear episode being amazing, but The God Complex 7a: The Power of Three up until the ending 7b: Hide 8 (so far): Listen [editline]16th September 2014[/editline]
Even WalesOnline tried to warn you about that :v:
people on /tv/ call her "The Nightmare Child" and it's amazing
Dalek is also up there. I'll have a go at listing them. 1: Dalek 2: Army of Ghosts/Doomsday 3: Blink 4: Midnight Specials: Waters of Mars 5: The Eleventh Hour 6a: The Doctor's Wife 6b: Closing Time 7a: The Power of Three 7b: The Name of the Doctor 8: Listen
Never really got The Waters of Mars. It's like, "The Doctor wants to save lives, oh the humanity!" with the only justification that it's bad is because it's a fixed point in time, and yet [sp]The Doctor saving his own damn life from a fixed event in the whole Silence/River Song arc was a-ok because[/sp]. Metaphysics shouldn't dictate morality. Of course there was the whole ego trip but The Doctor is 110% ego.

Remember what happened when River didn't 'kill' the Doctor? All of time messed up. All of it. The only way they got around it was with River technically killing him but not really, it was a smart solution in the universe of the show. That's why it's bad to break the laws of time and in The Waters of Mars when the 10th Doctor did that there could have been catastrophic results, saved only by the fact that Adelaide killed herself.

I don't remember that happening. I think I just zone out whenever that character is on screen. And not in the good way like with Halle Berry as Storm.
Did that happen? I don't remember that happening. I think I just zone out whenever that character is on screen. And not in the good way like with Halle Berry as Storm.
I mean, that was pretty much the entire plot of The Wedding of River Song.
1: Dalek 2: The Girl In The Fireplace 3: Family of Blood 2-Parter 4: Midnight/Turn Left Specials: Waters of Mars 5: The Pandorica Opens 6a: Christmas Carol/The Doctor's Wife 6b: The God Complex 7a: Dinosaurs on a Spaceship 7b: The Snowmen/Hide 8 (so far): Listen
I mean, that was pretty much the entire plot of The Wedding of River Song.
I remember I watched it with my friend and the first thing of the "Previously on Doctor Who" thing was an explanation on what the Teselecta was. We both told the screen to fuck off.
1 - Dalek (and if I'm not allowed to go for that, Father's Day) 2 - Tooth And Claw 3 - Haven't seen this season in forever, so I'm just gonna say Blink 4 - Turn Left (I love fanwank okay) Specials - Planet Of The Dead 5 - Vincent And The Doctor 6 - The Doctor's Wife 7A - Dinosaurs on a Spaceship 7B - Rings Of Akhaten 8 - Robot Of Sherwood 7A was really hard to pick, I don't consider it the best period of Doctor Who in retrospect [editline]16th September 2014[/editline] As for my three favourite episodes, Tooth And Claw, Dalek, Planet Of The Dead
Specials - Planet Of The Dead 7B - Rings Of Akhaten
l m a o Rings of Akhaten has the best 11 speech in my opinion but the episode as a whole was dire. Also The Long Song is objectively the best piece of music marigold has ever done so that redeems it a tiny bit.
I mean, that was pretty much the entire plot of The Wedding of River Song.
Oh, that caused that? I thought Moffat just went mad and everyone was too scared to tell him to stop. Honestly, I can't remember that whole arc in detail. All I remember is Hitler.
still annoyed it wasn't what was playing when the Doctor was granted another cycle. Seeing the Doctor stand up as an old man reinvigorated and regenerate to this would have been emotional 10/10 moment.
