Also, I think the thing I enjoyed most of this episode was[sp]Kevan Brighting preformance. He nails it at evil yet friendly announcer voices.
It's sad to see he was so underused. Such a great voice actor. I'd love to see him having the role of an evil AI or something, that would freak out the Doctor.[/sp]
D'awww, that little toilet roll rocket made by Douglas' daughter :v:
(don't tell anyone but it was pretty much me who made it, she just painted it)

The species might not suffer from those issues?
This episode was really meh. I got bored one third in and was kinda just hoping the episode would be over already.
Something I'm rather disliking at the moment are the self depricating lines, which were signposted by fandom long before.
Like 12 aiming for minimalist but hitting magician. All references past and present to the eyebrows and the chin. Knocking former Doctor outfits - labelling them embarrassing, silly and stupid.
They are amusing lines, yes. But to me, it feels like the Internet wrote them first and (probably) Moffat added them second. Just takes me out of it, I guess. 12's eyebrows were a special, jawdropping event - now they're a recurring gag which I'm sure we haven't heard the last of.
Kinda thought the episode was shit :/

He's an Older doctor, he's suppose to be old and find his past incarnations childish
not as good as the amazing run we've had so far. it was quite enjoyable, i just expected something else to happen at the end. the only thing i'm not sure is about miss delphox:
[sp]did she call the doctor after she regretted her actions when she was old and dying?[/sp]
otherwise, it was enjoyable. i wouldn't rate it anything else, because i'd be comparing it with the other episodes this series.
I have to say one of the best parts of the show this series is the music.
Man. THE MUSIC.
He's an Older doctor, he's suppose to be old and find his past incarnations childish
...that's not my point. He could prove his maturity so much more if he didn't mention these things. Just as we could see that he was older in 'Deep Breath' without them shoving it down our throats. I don't want Internet memes transformed in to recurring gags in the show. It's not subtle. Even Gatiss has had Clara, in his last two episodes, mock The Doctor's constant use of the Sonic. I would much rather they just used the Sonic less instead of highlighting it and making THAT a recurring joke.
It's a small thing, I don't like shows being this aware of themselves. It's all delicious tumblr bait. It started to happen to Sherlock, too - so it's little surprise that my complaints come from Moffat, Gatiss & Thompson episodes. 11 started free of it all, with Smith unburdened. Smith says his best work was in Series 5 and I strongly agree. I can watch episodes from that series and not believe that it's the same man three years later. With 12 being so great, I don't want to think the same of him when he's gone. I'm understandably protective :v:
Incidentally, this all became clear when one of the first things 12 shouted was "I'm not flirting, by the way!"

Doctor self-deprecation at other regenerations predates the internet. "So you're my replacements - a dandy and a clown!"
Same answer as above :v:

Can I be real right now? I haven't seen as much Doctor Who as you guys, admittedly, but of what I have seen, Peter Capaldi is shaping up to be the best doctor yet.
For me Peter carried that episode.
A lot of the dialogue got lost for me in the edit and I found myself filling in gaps lots. The amount of filters on the architect made him really hard for me to understand, occasionally Peter became hard to decipher under the SFX and music and I really didn't care for any of the supporting cast.
The twists were all predictable. Everything moved incredibly quickly. The monster killed a person and then just walked around for ages. It was, for me, a step back to series 7. All the new tone, slower pace, quiet moments, and character development just stopped.
For me this feels like a Series 7 episode that got pushed back. Next week looks like great fun though.

Adam and Eve did it, so it'll be fine.
Time Heist: 4.93 million
RadioTimes rated 1 star. Very harsh IMO. I wouldn't rate it among the absolute worst of Who.
Looks like we're going back to soap opera for the next episode.

[sp]Time travelled back to a time when they still lived?[/sp]

[sp]Doesn't save them from what caused them to decline in the first place.[/sp]
Also, Capaldi Doctor kind of reminds me of Eckle-Beckle Doctor. Both have that weariness and cynical bite to them.
Incest isn't exactly the worst thing to happen to evolution.
It no doubt happened between our distant ancestors. In a few million years the Tellers will be stronger in numbers and genes. Hurrah.
Sup guys, just popping in cause I've got a spare few minutes.
Doctor Who, having a big screen and speakers turned out to be a really useful pulling technique so if anyone ever goes to uni, use it. That's my advice.
I haven't watched Time Heist past the pre-titles sequence yet and I'm pretty hyped, ready for a classic rompy episode of Doctor Who after Listen. Hope you're all doing shit. Love, EG19 xoxox
who are you?

Listen has a final rating of 7.01m.
The 7m streak continues - up from 4.8m. Brilliant.
I really enjoyed tonight's episode still no promised land reference though

Got a woman in the shop / possibly Missy reference, however.

I still hate how tv is still on ratings alot of people don't watch it via services that are traceable
also a 1 star is really harsh
[editline]21st September 2014[/editline]
also ironically five minutes before i started watching i was downloading the Stanley parable
Time Heist was great, let's keep up the momentum here.
It sure had a bad case of "if we change the colour of the lighting nobody will notice that we've been using the same hallway for ten minutes straight" though. Good to see the budget being spent on sets though and not on overblown CGI sequences. Animatronics for the Teller were really cool.
[sp]That scene of the two Tellers [/sp] at the end was pretty silly though.
