This is like everything I expected and wanted from Capaldi wrapped up in 50 seconds :v:

For the last 3 years a series has ended on episode 6 and returned 6 months later. It's a joke about how god fucking awful that was and would be now.

Reading threads on GB. Some people found that episode too confusing and hard to follow.
Whaaat?
interesting episode
but i'm really not a big fan of drama
Remember when Capaldi was asked about the new series and he said "trust no one"?
Anybody think that's about Danny? He said he's a soldier. Could he have worked for UNIT? Could he be under cover now trying to get close to The Doctor? The Brigadier left UNIT and became a Maths teacher...
Time Heist - 6.99m
7,400 away from 7m. It was a fun record chase while it lasted.

The time was right.

Apparently this episode is him fully settled in the role and how he will be going forward.
The Doctor at the end of Deep Breath is in no way simmilar to The Doctor we got now. By Listen he was much different. Now he's basically a grumpy Tom Baker. Whereas he started as a short tempered Pertwee.
It's perfect.
[editline]28th September 2014[/editline]
Also his hair game is getting stronger. I heard it was only short to begin with as Capaldi had to do reshoots for Paddington Bear.

Nope. Not creepy.
I love that Coal Hill's motto is "A Spirit of Adventure" :)
Chesterton would have been a nice cameo for the heaven bit at the end, it would have been an ace cameo and incredibly depressing at the same time. Just give me more Chesterton Moffat pls ;_;
Well looks like next weeks episode could be scary, hurray!
Chesterton would have been a nice cameo for the heaven bit at the end, it would have been an ace cameo and incredibly depressing at the same time. Just give me more Chesterton Moffat pls ;_;
Are you implying you think that Chesterton might be dead in the Doctor Who world? If so, and I quote from Wikipedia:
"Ian [Chesterton] was mentioned in Death of the Doctor, a two-part story in the fourth series of The Sarah Jane Adventures transmitted in October 2010. Sarah Jane Smith states that Ian and Barbara have married, become professors, live in Cambridge, and are said not to have aged since the 1960s. In the 50th Anniversary Special "The Day of the Doctor", the sign for Coal Hill Secondary School in the opening shot labels the Chairman of the Governors as I. Chesterton."
A lot of stuff in SJA is bollocks, main Who canon overrides any spinoff. Plus having an Ian that doesn't age means William Russell can't come back which is shit.
Chesterton being on the board of governors doesn't really mean anything either, he could die at any time. We don't know how long Clara has been travelling with the Doctor.

Yeah, it was a nice thought to see the original companions carrying on in their prime, thoughts of their feelings on potentially outliving family and friends aside.
Not to mention I fear a in-show reunion would contradict their unbelieviably awesome reunion adventure with Eleven in the DWM comics:

I am not enjoying this Clara/Danny romance stuff. It's taking up precious time that could be better used elsewhere. I'd rather have the 20 minutes spent on the Doctor power napping

I look forward to your glowing review of that episode :v:
S8 has been a much more character-driven series that I was expecting. Which it needed to be, IMO, in contrast to the last two series.
Also, yesterday was a good day for me:

The general fan interpretation is they haven't aged on the inside. They're still young and adventurous at heart.
Which is why Ian would've been in Day of the Doctor (apparently the scene at the start in the school, he would've been the one to tell Clara her Doctor called).
In Doctor Who Extra Peter says Danny is somebody "to be watched" in the rest of the series :tinfoil:

It's nice to have a series with actual characters for a change. And not caricatures and tropes.
I seriously hope that Olly will be back for more episodes. Or at least any word confrontation with the Doctor.
I love when Paul McGann breaks my right leg too
THat's an actual thing your knees can have though, hyperextension in the joints.
I have it in my knees aswell, but not as bad as in the photo, which makes my calves bend forward a bit like that when I stand straight instead of lining up straight with the thighs :v:
I like that they're doing character plots and building, but I think they drag it on a bit too much, and it's becoming a bit too moopyshoopy.
Unrelated to the episode but does anyone remember the earth being stolen?

I recall the earth being in a system with lots of other planets, I think it was Eccleston-Tennant time since I can remember Rose's mother. Might not have been.
While they're incredible stories, I always thought the invasions and everything from the RTD era felt a bit wierd. Let's take Doomsday for example.[sp]Cybermen and Daleks invade the earth and the humans fight back.
Thousands of people die in this war. And then the next episode people are like "Ah yeah, that war from last week. Thousands of people died. Well, just an avarge day on planet earth."
So, earth just had an alien invasion and after it they just rebuild the things that were destroyed and kinda forget it? They're not even going to worry anymore about more aliens and go on with their daily lifes?
They kinda don't even care about the people that died? They don't research for example a body of a cyberman to get scientific advancements? I really hope this gets explained one day as this bugs me out.[/sp]
My guess is UNIT controls it. They explain it as some terrorist attack or something, fuck with people's memories so it makes sense, and then it's just a horrible tragedy. We know they have the power to wipe memories, so why not change them? They do have a shitton of alien tech.
meh, loved every episode so far but that one didn't do it. danny just came off as really annoying the whole time (and that fucking flip was absolute bullshit) and that young kid was a fucking pain as well.
