[sp]OMG THE SPOILERS WERE TRUE, CLARA TELLS THE FIRST DOCTOR TO GET A WORSE TARDIS[/sp]
Fantastic end to the series in my opinion didn't expect the final scene to play out like that, who else agrees? Sucks that we have to wait until November for the anniversary, although we do have a Time and Space 90 min special in August to look forward to, and apparently a few prequel shorts leading up to November. Hopefully I'm going to the Anniversary convention or at the very least watch it in 3D at the cinema. Who else is heading to the convention?
HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIT
HOLY MOTHER FUCKING SHIT
HOLY DICKBALLS THAT ENDING. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT.
[sp]So are we to assume the great intelligence blew up the tardis in series 5 because he went to every point in the doctors timeline?[/sp]
This is apparently what John Hurt as the Doctor means, as said by others before: 50th anniversary spoiler [sp] "The Doctor during the Time War. This makes Chris' Doctor the 10th, Tennant's the 11th, Smith's the 12th... but because of him causing "The Moment",the Time Lock, destroying Gallifrey, he chooses to ignore this version because of the horror he causes[/sp]
that was pretty awesome!
Most satisfying finale ever?
I think I came a little at the end.
Holy. Fucking. Shit.
This is THE BEST FUCKING EPISODE of the ENTIRE SERIES RUN.
I'm not even joking, 100/10. Oh my god and THAT ENDING.
[sp]Although it was a bit wonky to go "INTRODUCING JOHN HURT", the whole episode overall I was at the EDGE of my SEAT, it was tense as fuck, I don't even care if River was in it - the whole episode overall was jsut fucking MARVELOUS. I take back EVERYTHING I've said about Moffat in the past, he just redeemed himself sevenfold with this.
With the Doctors running past Clara and when she saved them all, especially the dialogue exchange with the First Doctor... It's beautiful...[/sp]
It was just beautiful. I love, love, love, love it. I'll be rewatching it as soon as I get a chance to.
<3
When that title appeared on the screen it completely and utterly blew my mind.
I'm shaking
10/10 Doctor Who episode, possibly the best ever and if not certainty the best finale.
Edit: It also wipes away the bad shit from 2010 onwards completely.
10/10 Doctor Who episode, possibly the best ever and if not certainty the best finale.
Definetely the best ever. ALL the other episodes since 2005 doesn't have ANYTHING on this, nevermind the finales.
Hands down THE best episode EVER.
Remember we were all so ANGRY when the John Hurt thing leaked.
But now we're all ecstatic.

I think you are overreacting a bit...
Okay, okay, let's talk about this.
[sp]Hurt's Doctor HAS to be the Valeyard.[/sp]

I fully agree. It was brilliant. The reveal was some rather delicious icing on the cake.
Makes up for the series dodgy start, that was a great episode!
The time where this thread gets to the second most popular thread!
nah I don't think it was the best ever
most "nerd-gasm" shots?
most satisfying?
most intense cliff-hanger?
best finale?
yes to all 4. best episode overall? no, Clara and River both pull it down a bit. it didn't dethrone Blink or the Family of Blood two-parter, but it was still fucking amazing. 9.5/10
I think you are overreacting a bit...
No YOU'RE overreacting a bit
Sorry I'm just gonna go drown myself in some cold water, I'll be right back.
[sp]The Valyard mention was pretty cool.[/sp]
Oh, and one thing makes sense now - [sp]John Hurt ISN'T the ~true~ ninth Doctor or anything like that, he's the ninth incarnation, but since he broke the "promise" or whatever, he's not a true Doctor. Basically, semantics. He's had 12 lives, but there have only ever been 11 Doctors.[/sp]
Okay, okay, let's talk about this.
[sp]Hurt's Doctor HAS to be the Valeyard.[/sp]
Kinda. But no. [sp]The Valeyard is a bad incarnation of The Doctor. Possibly the last incarnation of The Doctor. The one that dies in battle with all the graves.
John Hurt IS the 9th Doctor. It's just everybody is ashamed. [/sp]
I'm shaking
As am I. Previously this was the case with The Pandorica Opens. Moffat finally topped himself. Not literally.

This was posted on the last page. Don't want it to get lost.
Want to bet the advice was "Don't sleep with the female cast"? Which Tennant was very good at.
So [sp]the Eleventh Doctor is actually his twelfth life[/sp]
19:56 - Rowtree: john hurt confirmed for doctor angst
19:56 - Dain [h+]: ecclestone is basically hurt's hangover
19:56 - Rowtree: that whole oh god wtf did i do i was so fucking drunk
19:57 - Dain [h+]: lmao
19:57 - Rowtree: oh god i killed WHAT
I will admit, [sp]when I first saw Hurt with his back turned, I thought it was going to be Ben Daniels as the next Doctor[/sp]
