I will admit, [sp]when I first saw Hurt with his back turned, I thought it was going to be Ben Daniels as the next Doctor[/sp]
Personally, I was thinking they wouldn't show the front, and leave it as an ambiguous 12th doctor
I love that part where a Whisper Man [sp]is sticking its hand in Strax's chest and grabbing his heart[/sp] and Strax is all "DON'T WORRY DOCTOR, I'VE GOT THIS"
Personally, I was thinking they wouldn't show the front, and leave it as an ambiguous 12th doctor
But what if Warwick Davis was cast?!

GB is rating this top marks. Actual, proper, 10/10 majority landslide. Something MUST be wrong!
Alright now, how will we survive until November? -slowly stares at Dan- Hey there, spoiler boooy?

Zygons in the special, awesome.
[sp] Just a thought, imagine how much more awesome that reveal could have been if it was Eccleston instead of Hurt. Not that it wasnt awesome.[/sp]

From someone on Reddit: "WTF is with the Silence then? Did they want silence to fall so the Great Intelligence couldn't open the tomb and wreck the timestream? Why didn't they just warn anyone? Why did they try to blow up the TARDIS and how the hell did they? The fuck Moffat?" ^^^^^^^^^^ [editline]18th May 2013[/editline]
This was posted on the last page. [sp]John Hurt is totally the ninth Doctor.[/sp] I'm calling it now. It would make so much sense. I don't know if his role has been confirmed or not, stayed away from 50th spoilers, but that would be my guess. [sp]Would also mean 'fall of the eleventh' means David Tennant is in for it probably. I'd bet on his human version dying at the 50th.[/sp]
[sp]John Hurt is totally the ninth Doctor.[/sp]
I'm confused as to how people are saying this. I thought we already know since Matt is 11.
Isn't Hurt the actual Doctor and our Doctor chose to use his name instead of his own? He did something terrible in his own name not our Doctor's, that's what I thought was being revealed Like John Simm Warwick Davis is another great casting idea for the Doctor that sadly will never happen
It's 8am, I am tired, I pulled an all-nighter to watch this episode, my mind needs to clear and then I will watch it again. Off to sleep.
There are eleven versions of the Doctor, but the Gallifreyan who goes by the name of The Doctor has regenerated 12 times - one of them was John Hurt's character. But that version of him did something so terrible that he can't count himself as one of the Doctors. At least, that's what I think the ending meant. So Matt Smith most definitely is the eleventh Doctor, and there have so far only been eleven Doctors. But there have been twelve versions of that Time Lord, and he chooses to ignore one of them. Like if you have a really bad year and deal with it by pretending it never happened.
Maybe its some sort of timelord formality to take on your real name during war.
wait, spoilers for episodes that have already been broadcast are okay, right?
well my impression was that the Doctor we have followed all these years possibly isn't really the Doctor - he just borrowed his name. But I can see the ignored incarnation of the Doctor theory holds up
Great episode and awesome ending. Now for the long wait..
This is apparently what John Hurt as the Doctor means, as said by others before: 50th anniversary spoiler [sp] "The Doctor during the Time War. This makes Chris' Doctor the 10th, Tennant's the 11th, Smith's the 12th... but because of him causing "The Moment",the Time Lock, destroying Gallifrey, he chooses to ignore this version because of the horror he causes[/sp]
Cheers for explaining that. I was sort of lost on what it meant. [sp]So, I guess this mean that the 50th will feature both Matt, David and John?[/sp]
