Does he need to work with her more than once?
Well I highly doubt Moffat asked her to be the Master in 2007.
So is Missy the woman in the shop who gave Clara the TARDIS number?
The Master would have the TARDIS phone number...
But wouldn't Clara recognise her?

Who's to say how many years have passed for Clara since then?
Do you remember the person who ran the corner shop you bought a bottle of milk from five years ago?
Beaten to it :v:

No but nobody was saying "Michelle Gomez sat Mccoy down and revealed she was The Master". The fact they worked together shows he's aware of her and how she's "scary". He probably just heard down the grapevine that she'd been cast. The only requirement was it was somebody Mccoy was aware of and probably knew.
Describe a shopkeeper you encountered once, a few years ago. You have two minutes.
Fair point and all. But if somebody gave me a number in a shop I'd probably remember what they looked like for at least a week or so. Being given a number is an event, it helps build a memory. It's not as mundane as just buying something off a shopkeeper. A conversation is required.
But if later the same day I phoned that number and ended up with a space travelling time alien I'd probably remember their face even more so. Especially if that time alien kept bringing it up.
I thought track 22 sounded familiar

do you by any chance know what track 23 is because i need more of it this instant
In Hindsight, the stuff she does, the way she acts before the reveal feels like what the Master would do.

How did Clara not hear the car hit Danny or the phone hit the ground?
Why didn't Danny backflip over the car?
All that PE for nothing.
do you by any chance know what track 23 is because i need more of it this instant
All I know is that it was for some reason an unused track for the last few minutes of DotD (replaced with The Wedding of River Song + A majestic Tale). It was first heard during this years Symphonic Spectacular. It also had a variation in TotD before being properly used in Deep Breath.

Didn't the Doctor comment that only a few people know that number though? Seems like it'd be a pretty big thing to just be written off as "It was just a shopkeeper, I don't remember".

There's no way McCoy knew otherwise - I'm pretty sure he just got lucky.
So someone online on my friends list said they thought the episode was shit, that the master being a female was a cop out, because they didn't have the balls to go with a female doctor. What?
This series has been my favourite since 5 hands down, that said I have so much nostalgia for 5 I dont know if it will top it. Hinges on the next episode. Both seasons have been some of the best tv i've ever seen though
man I remember calling the return of the master in this thread back at the end of the 50th anniversary. I'm so glad it happened so soon
because they didn't have the balls to go with a female doctor. What?
I was under the impression that's sort of why they did it, considering how much of a push there is for a female Doctor right now

Get hype for Missy Part 2

I honestly don't get why there is the sudden rush of people wanting a female doctor.
A female Master will be quite enough.
I wonder if she still hears the drums.. Or is that done?
I remember The Master always complaining about the drums.

This kinda shit is going on a lot lately with media stuff
One thing that bugged me is when the cybermen came out of the tombs they weren't in sync
One thing that bugged me is when the cybermen came out of the tombs they weren't in sync
They also weren't true Cybermen;

True Cybermen walk with their fists clenched, arms have no sway, and emphasis on the legs pounding the ground.
The recent episode had light cybermen that prance around. UNIT will kill them np.

If you take that ideology, then would that mean the Classic Cybermen aren't "true" Cybermen? Because that would be rude.

So you are telling me that the Mondas Cybermen, the original Cybermen, the same Cybermen we've had for around 50 years, that the new ones are based on, are not "true" cybermen?
The new Cybermen were meant to be more sleek and less clunky. Originally they weren't even meant to make the clunk noise when they walk. Maybe that's why they're walking in a less uniform fashion?
One thing that bugged me is when the cybermen came out of the tombs they weren't in sync
Well they weren't really in-sync in the classic series. They were kinda smooth when walking and had their own pattern.
Regarding: Female Doctor.
It will happen when the person writing Doctor Who has a woman spring to mind the they reckon is perfect for the part.
The Master being a woman isn't setting that up at all. Moffat could change The Doctors gender any time, from the very start of his era he's set it up as a possibility (Matt Smiths early words "I'm a GIRL?") and Gaiman took it the next step (The Corsair changing genders). The only reason we haven't had a female doctor is because Moffat doesn't feel it's felt right yet. Just like he said Capaldi didn't feel right when they were casting 11.
I've got a list of dream actors I want to see as the next Doctor. It just so happens the one at the top is a woman. But before Ruth Wilson I'd rather just enjoy the shit out of Capaldi because he's perfect and we've probably got a few years of him yet at least.

The Corsair changing genders has been known sice the fourth doctor's era
Doctor Who actor Peter Capaldi comes on stage and says: “Jack, the news of your kind has spread all across the galaxy”.
As Peter declared him an “honourary Time Lord”, Jack struggles to keep a straight face.
Peter finished by saying the youngster is a real hero.

The Corsair changing genders has been known sice the fourth doctor's era
No. The Corsair was first mentioned in The Doctor's Wife. He was then inserted into the recent fourth Doctor novel Shada.
The Mirror suddenly lavished praise on the show, yesterday.
I am certain of one thing. I will be watching Doctor Who live. I don’t want some Twitter geek spoiling the ending of what has been a superb first series for Peter Capaldi. This might sound like a ridiculous way to measure •someone’s impact, but the greatest tribute I can pay Capaldi is that by the third episode I had stopped thinking of Malcolm Tucker, his sweary spin doctor from The Thick Of It.

You’d say the odds are heavily stacked in her favour, especially after she pointed out this •undeniable truth: “The dead outnumber the living.”
For some reason that quote just brings me back to The X Factor.
