John Hurt would be the best Doctor.

Anyone else get the feeling that everything going to shit in Doctor Who, in-universe I mean? Like, two of the closest companions got trapped in what is pretty much a purgatory, he got sent into a deep depression which he took a long time coming out of, he's running out of regenerations, his death and the death of the TARDIS have become fixed points, he had to say goodbye to River Song (and about fucking time, at least she didn't hijack this plot), his greatest secret has been revealed (mostly), and the stories have come much more personal rather than the usual stuff-of-legends saving-the-world fair.

[sp]Darnit Moffat, you know we all want 8 to have more glory than just a TV Movie, and a potential incarnation who was responsible for horrible things is at least demanding of a regeneration scene. Not to mention Paul's both enthuiastic and still young enough to pass for his incarnation easily.

You've said once you're not doing "just a 60 minute special", so is there mini-episode content or something you're maybe working on? We all want more Paul, wasn't there any chance in the planning for this 50th for him to show up somehow?![/sp]
