I loved the part where they showed the kid Danny killed in the screen of the iPad at the end of Dark Water, and then he is suddenly standing next to Danny in the latest one, no explanation needed amirite? [editline]9th November 2014[/editline] Oh and another bit I loved was where Danny was crying with his finger over Delete, so he would delete his emotions but then in the next episode he is fine and not crying.
The kid was standing opposite him and encouraged him to not press the button, presumably
The problem is you're in a very small minority. The series, the writers, the actors and the finale have gone down a storm. Maybe it's just not for you. Instead of demanding everybody else miss out because you don't enjoy it?
That's perfectly reasonable which is why I'm considering not bothering with the show anymore. I also don't think I'm in a very small minorit judging by what I've read from Reddit. As a fan of the show, I want to see the show make episodes as good as Blink consistently which is why I keep watching in hope. I'm sure you can agree we don't want to see low quality episodes such as the moon one.
also it was a shame we didn't see missy's tardis
That kid Danny saved was kind of the Starchild in ME3, wasn't he? The character has an emotional connect, but we don't. So whenever he sends the kid back, it's rather lackluster for us
Probably the biggest pitfall is that one way or another, love saved the day. It's just a dull resolution after the superb Missy build-up / Master reveal / indestructable army to rage across the Universe... ...and I can't find Danny's speech in any way rousing. Moffat called him Series 8's secret weapon. I hope they upgrade their arsenal for S9. Doctor / Missy search for Gallifrey arc. Best series that never was. :v:

After that it's pretty good but not by any stretch the best episode. Ignore what you read on Reddit. The critics are high, the ratings are high, timeshifts are high and the AI are high. Any internet places you read (including here) aren't representative of anything really. For the record I'm one of those that love the Moon one. I loved them all apart from Forest and Robin Hood.

He sent a kid that doesn't speak English, has no passport, doesn't know whether his parents are alive nevermind the fact that we don't know if his parents were terrorists or not. And then he asks Clara for an impossible request to find the kid's parents. Let's not talk about the method in which the kid got there. Why should I ignore Reddit or what I read on the Internet? These people are fans just like you and I and its the best place to discuss and read about other people's opinions. Critics are high? Doesn't change my opinion on the declining quality of Doctor Who. I don't understand your dismissal of things not being a representative of anything. It's the fanbase that make shows. Since you enjoyed the Moon episode, it's clear we have a massive gulf in difference between what we classify as good episodes.
I'm not sure what to make of the episode, and I'm annoyed at the fact that I don't know whether I enjoyed the episode or not. I loved based Capaldi's acting, particularly his reaction to Gallifrey not being there, but I didn't like how Clara didn't just TELL the Doctor that Danny didn't come back... Missy was underused I loved her omg
Doctor / Missy search for Gallifrey arc. Best series that never was. :v:
I had really high hopes this season would be about the Doctor searching for Gallifrey. It would've been fantastic especially with Clara's understanding of the importance of finding Gallifrey due to her witnessing the Doctor's timeline. Unfortunately, this is going to be pushed back a season where by we're going to get a new companion who doesn't understand the Doctor's history and finding Gallifrey doesn't have as big of an impact to the show as it could have. It's a shame but at least Clara is gone.
at least Clara is gone.
no she isn't
Sending the kid back made no sense.
Not at all, it's a kid he accidentally killed. I imagine he's been feeling an immense amount of guilt since that day, makes perfect sense to me why he'd be willing to give the chance to go back to the person who's life he robbed.
no she isn't
Isn't she leaving after the Christmas episode? Her arc should be coming to a close now anyway.
Isn't she leaving after the Christmas episode? Her arc should be coming to a close now anyway.
well then she's not gone yet, is she? plus the leaving at christmas thing is just a rumour

What did Seb say before he got vaporized?
What did Seb say before he got vaporized?
permission to squee
What did Seb say before he got vaporized?
"Permission to SQUEEEEEE." I think. EDIT: I left it a couple seconds too late. Sorry world.
if clara comes on for another season she'll be the longest running companion in nuwho
well then she's not gone yet, is she? plus the leaving at christmas thing is just a rumour
Well I'd be immensely disappointed if Clara stayed for another season. Perhaps I was slightly premature. I do think it's time for her to leave although I'm not sure how they're going to resolve the whole future time traveller being Clara's descendant bit. My guess would be she finds she's pregnant in the Christmas episode and decides to leave to settle down?

There won't be a "sit down and find gallifrey" episode or series. It will just be something to be hinted at slowly over a long period of time. When future Rory vanished after Rory was killed.

You'd think it would've made logical sense for the Doctor to decide to find his own people after the events of the War Doctor but I guess Moffat is still show lead. Oh well. It kind of kills the ending of this season by rewriting it and making Pink alive again.

But in the background. The show should be about fresh adventure every week. Honestly if I ranked the episodes of this series the top half would have more Moffat than the bottom half. That's a pretty good hit rate for any writer. Why anybody would want to lose him is beyond me. He doesn't just know the show, he knows the BBC and the shit they pull. Doctor Who still stands out as exceptional BBC TV. I don't know who I'd want to succeed him. I can't think of anybody. I'd be genuinely worried if it wasn't two people. Even then I'd be on edge.
poi has anyone ever told you you're a real negative dude
yeah I mean it can't be that hard - he only has to look through all of time and space multiplied by the amount of dimensions it could possibly be in, most likely most if which he has no idea of
No idea why you're so passive aggressive. I'm not the one paid to write the series. If Moffat wanted to, I'm sure the Doctor could magically find Gallifrey in one season, its a plot/story for goodness sake. You haven't made any points except being snarky, I was only suggesting what, in my opinion, the Doctor would be doing after those events. [editline]9th November 2014[/editline]
poi has anyone ever told you you're a real negative dude
Are you asking me to blindly agree with everything the show does and love everything that they put in front of me? All I'm doing is voicing my opinion. If you don't like that, it's fine. I thought this thread was about Doctor Who discussion, not a thread where everyone agrees with each other like drones. It would be far more exciting then another series where the end result doesn't have much of an impact to the characters development. In terms of finding a replacement, I'm not paid to do that. I don't know that many writers or the politics of the BBC. I'm just speaking as a fan of the show that I don't like the direction in which Moffat is taking Doctor Who. In terms of why anyone would want to lose him, obviously we disagree with each other. I don't think Doctor Who is an exceptional TV show anymore either. It's certainly unique but the quality is deteriorating.
Highlighting flaws in arguments does not count as blindly agreeing with everything the show does.
Highlighting flaws in arguments does not count as blindly agreeing with everything the show does.
Now you're just putting words in my mouth. EDIT: He's saying I'm negative, whereas all I'm doing is offering my opinion on it.
Passively aggressively accusing people of being passive aggressive is also funny. Let's stop arguing and being negative. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Doctor Who Lego inbound
This review period featured two Doctor Who concepts, and the LEGO Review Board is evaluating them. We'll let you know when we decide whether or not one will be produced as a LEGO set.
Here are those sets. Set 1 Set 2 How exciting this is as it gets closer and closer. I prefer set 2. It seems to require the least work. The most exciting part? All 13 Doctors can feature in a Lego Doctor Who video game soon, regardless of the set.
Passively aggressively accusing people of being passive aggressive is funny.
It's the British way. I thought we were having a constructive discussion on Doctor Who till someone was being snarky and sarcastic.
If Moffat wanted to, I'm sure the Doctor could magically find Gallifrey in one season, its a plot/story for goodness sake.
But then you'd just complain because it doesn't make sense as you did with how they sent the kid back.
You haven't made any points except being snarky, I was only suggesting what, in my opinion, the Doctor would be doing after those events.
Not sure that's completely fair, maybe a bit of snark here and there (snark snark) but I did make quite a large post containing points that I found pretty.. uh.. pointy.
I was only suggesting what, in my opinion, the Doctor would be doing after those events. Are you asking me to blindly agree with everything the show does and love everything that they put in front of me? All I'm doing is voicing my opinion. If you don't like that, it's fine. I thought this thread was about Doctor Who discussion, not a thread where everyone agrees with each other like drones.
No, I'm not - but I am now asking you to do is to stop watching a show you seem to dislike so immensely - or at least stop posting about it as much. You've just made a Facepunch account that currently (as of time of writing) has twelve recorded posts. Eleven out of twelve of those posts are you shitting all over Doctor Who with almost nothing positive. Now I'm not saying you can't have your own opinions but when the only thing you do is bring negativity to the thread, what's the point of you being here? One post would have been enough - the rest are literally worthless with their only meaning being to bring down others that did enjoy it. Now obviously since you've only posted around the time of one episode maybe it's possible that it's just this one episode you don't like but looking at what you've said in your posts it doesn't seem that way at all. I really don't understand why people continue to watch and discuss a show when they believe that the entire staff should be sacked due to how bad it is. EDIT: In posting this I also realize that sometimes I bring a bit too much negativity to this thread. I will try and stop that as much in the future and let those who enjoyed.. well.. enjoy it!
