as soon as the doctor hinted at taking osgood as a companion i knew she was gonna die
What a waste of a character.
W(and watching Doctor Who reaction videos, of course). :D
do a lot of people in this thread watch reaction videos?
im glad you guys liked it
tv hates it cause 'THIS IS SHIT THIS IS SHIT'
and some on tumblr hate it cause 'i just cant anymore'
and neither of them bother to explain why
I'm just going to hand in my card and leave.
Point still stands though, I'm pretty sure a Time Lord could be as easily disintegrated as a human.
Timelords have some pretty bizarre things going on with their biology.
Such as absorbing fuckloads of radiation and being able to last a while before needing to regenerate.
Or having the ability to turn into multidimensional entities to kill Charons coded into their DNA
On the other hand the doctor did hit his head falling down and this forced him to regenerate soo....
Any 'power of love' conclusion almost always loses 4 points /10 with me. This one is not an exception. If they'd never reactivated that emotional inhibiter then it might have squeaked past but otherwise nah. Cyber-Brigadier gets a pass because it averted a stupid character death and for being ridiculously cool to have him become cybered up. Also, you could make the case that he recognised the Cyberman scheme when he died and so didn't hit that delete button and so was perfectly capable of feeling emotions.
I'd love to see more companions that aren't "important". The Impossible girl, the Girl who waited and the Bad Wolf can all fuck off. Even Donna was turned into one in her last episodes.
I swear, if we get another one of those after Clara leaves, I'll probably quit watching this.
Give me a nobody.
Martha "Rebound" Jones?
I think after the reasonably happy endings of Series 5 & 6, with the John Hurt hype for Series 7, this just left you feeling a bit down and depressed. Then suddenly Santa. Better on a rewatch. It's good that it's November - leaving it like that for half a year would be grim.
Though I suppose I don't know what I wanted. I arguably would have been happier if.......

"You win."
"I was talking to her."

I'm looking forward to The Cyber-Brig Adventures spin-off, though.
What pisses me off is that they pulled off the same exact move as they did with Ainsley and Simm, in addition to that the last two Master incarnations were undeniably brilliant acting-wise and character-wise. However they get as much screen time as Vaas Montenegro was given in the video game "Far Cry 3". Moffat's not the problem, he's just George Lucas 2.0, we just need someone to tell him "no, Steven, no" whenever he's about to fuck up.
I didn't think the episode was bad, I just felt pissed off and lied to about the whole Master story arc ending again just like that. Also, Missy was superb considering she was the first female incarnation of the rogue time lord.

He's got a team of writers. He's not the only executive producer either. He's just only ever the one that gets blamed because he's the only one people have a face and voice for.
I don't get this complaint The Master didn't have much screen time. She was in the plane scene which formed a fair chunk of the episode. Even when she wasn't in the room she was on the cameras. I was expecting her to escape at the start and return at the end.
She was present all the way through. The one exception is when The Doctor lands in the graveyard. Actually that's my one complaint. Clara's "I'VE GOT AN ISSUE SO YOU COME RIGHT NOW OKAY". She doesn't give a shit. She doesn't even ask who The Master is or understand what it means to The Doctor. She's willing to let him kill her. She is the worst companion there is. She ignores The Doctor, the genius alien who battled The Cybermen multiple times, because she wants to turn off the emotions. She breaks all the rules and is all about herself. The Master is totally right. She yanks his chain.
Really gone off her over the last half of this series.

The other thing I didn't like was The Cybermen upgrades.
Not only do they have a pretty circular blue light on their chest. Danny could remove his mask to show his face. They can fly. They have little arm cannons that pop out.
Iron Man v The Doctor.
I personally really did enjoy this series, would love to get it on Blu-ray to watch it over again (And partly because I can't get a reliable Freeview HD signal) for Christmas but its looking a bit expensive after everything else on my wish-list.
As much as I'd like to get Series 8 on DVD, I wouldn't then feel right until I had every other Doctor Who DVD as well, and I don't think I have the space for that.
I enjoyed the episode, it did wrap itself up too neatly and I wasn't keen on how 'bananas' Missy was; remeber when the master was cold and calculating and not... well... silly?.
Oh and was anyone else reminded of Return on of the Living Dead when the rain started to awaken the Cybermen?

I'm well on my way to doing just that, probably will have to deal with the space issues at some stage though

I remember the "I win" from Last of the Time Lords when The Master refused to regenerate. And now in this episode when Doctor said to Missy "You win".
Is anyone else sort of glad Danny died so we don't have to go through any more crappy Danny/Clara love story arcs eating up our episodes run times?
Because quite honestly I didn't really give a shit about Clara and her love life... So her (And by extension Danny) being gone after Christmas is going to pick up season 9's episodes significantly I think.

I enjoyed it whilst it was on, it is terribly flawed but is in itself perfectly watchable, it's only afterwards that you start to find faults and start to wonder if it was all that good.

Oh I liked him, I just hated Clara, she was a terrible companion and with him gone she will soon follow, in my books that was worth it.
Hell, if he'd survived I would have much preferred him to be The Doctors companion over Clara.

I actually liked the face thing, because these cybermen were made from dead people, not just brains. so it was pretty cool to me imo.
danny's face was giving me hella robocop vibe

I miss Missy already. Bananas.
Death in Heaven cemented the fact that I'd totally give it to the Master.
Good job, Moffat.
