I hope there's an episode that's a bit like Nightmare in Silver where Capaldi is playing both the villain and the Doctor at the same time.

Or like Enemy of the World where the villain just happens to look like Capaldi, and it never gets explained.
Although he would probably be like "shitting hell, there's like four of this face in the universe now"
Been under the weather for the past few days so I decided to revisit a few Tennant episodes that I hadn't seen since they aired (School Reunion, Girl in the Fireplace, S2 finale, Doomsday, 42, S3 finale, Fires of Pompeii, Sontaran 2 parter, Midnight, Turn Left, S4 finale, Waters of Mars), and almost all of them have held up brilliantly.
I'd forgot how good of an actor Tennant is, and there was something about Donna's character that I really appreciated (her mother always being dissapointed in her, and Donna's resolution was heartbreaking). Midnight especially had me on the edge of my seat for the last half of the episode, and the ending of Girl in the Fireplace still got to me, all these years on.
I quite like how each series was another year in The Doctor's life. I didn't really like the time jumps that have now made all those stories a distant memory from over 1000 years ago.
Drew the short straw if you think 9 & 10 make up justa few years of a 2000+ year life :v:
Although he would probably be like "shitting hell, there's like four of this face in the universe now"
Now you've made me think about an episode where everyone including villains, companions and extras wear Doctor's face.
You can never have too much of Capaldi.

But they did. His age went up by a year with each series.

except for one person
one person wearing a different face
a face that is
FANTASTIC

and then the actual doctor is probably not the one you were expecting
I would love the doctor to be his own companion for an episode, two Capaldis working together would be pretty great.
I choose to believe that 9/10 actually lived 100s of years and just forgot.
Wonderful job with the casting this year. Tried something fresh and new all round.
If you went back in time and showed that thumbnail of Capaldi, Skinner and Gomez and said "this is three characters from Doctor Who Series 8. One is The Doctor. One is The Master":
Gomez = Companion/supporting character
Skinner = Doctor
Capaldi = Master
And people say it's predictable.

Capaldi looks fantastic as Mr Curry
Is that a mid-70s Stressless? Interesting.
Capaldi was a pretty good Doctor, didn't like most of the stories though, mostly the moon one and the one with the plants. Loved the one with the 2D creatures, that was great.

What's with the past tense.
What's with the past tense.
Didn't you hear? Capaldi died in a tragic soup related accident.
Capaldi is and always will be a pretty amazing Doctor & fabulous Human being
[sp]Much too excited by the box making a noise[/sp]
What's with the past tense.
Well I meant this season.
I would just like to point out that I was 100% correct with everything I predicted about Missy (yes, I know Hardwick came to the exact conclusion in the season 8 after special, but I actually didn't see that until yesterday).
I'm actually rather pleased with that. I'm clever, dammit.
I kind of always wanted to see a multi-Doctor event, where their timestreams are close enough so it's the same Doctor meeting himself, rather than a different regeneration.
It still pisses me off that the battle of canary wharf is now just a memory and never happened does that mean rose is back in our universe?
[editline]21st November 2014[/editline]
Also are they going to explain Pompeii/torchwood?
Canary Wharf happened. In the same way when Rory was erased he still existed. It's just nobody remembers it
Well here it is.

There are many tracks with previously unheard second halves. Like this apparent "This is Gallifrey" battle music.

Hearing that again after 5 years was amazing.

I swear The Doctor Forever is my favorite Murray Gold composure. Too bad it's always downplayed by people who think The Doctor's Theme Series 4 is "The Tenth Doctor's Theme".
“I’ve written loads of Doctor Who that my name’s nowhere near and quite right too, because what I am doing is engineering rather than authorship,” he said. “But particularly in the early days of the new Doctor, we were trying very hard to establish a new tone for the show… so I got quite heavily involved in the first few scripts.”
He adds: “I remember once reading a review of a Doctor Who episode which listed a whole lot of really funny lines, saying, ‘This is the kind of thing we haven’t had since Moffat took over!’ – I wrote every single one!”
something to keep in mind when you're asking for jamie mathieson to be the next show runner
Mathieson was also quite open that a lot of everybody's favourite parts of Flatline were actually written or suggested by Moffat.
People have a habit of liking something and praising everybody but Moffat. When they hate something Moffat is solely responsible.
People should remember that that's why he got the job in the first place - his scripts were the only ones that didn't need editing in the RTD era.

don't be like me and pass off the track 'the three doctors' as something you've already heard: http://youtu.be/xANv3O2716Y?list=UUKfnLQQcCnJudSI3B788aIA&t=1m12s
at 1:12 it suddenly turns into something awesome and also a bit weird

This was hands down the best song in the 50th to me.
Anyway, I ordered Doctor Who The Vault off Amazon for a fiver. Hoping it turns out good, had a look through it in a shop and was rather impressed but put off by the price.
been waiting on that soundtrack for so fucking long and god damn its been worth the wait
[editline]21st November 2014[/editline]
fucking murray gold should do everything ever
[editline]21st November 2014[/editline]
series 8 ost when
[editline]21st November 2014[/editline]
yeah there is loads of stuff in the dotd/totd ost that was never played, a real shame because some of it is really amazing.
[editline]21st November 2014[/editline]
real shame that the version of the doctor who theme that played at the end of dotd isn't there though, was kind of hoping it would.
