I'm still here, just finished the adventure and exhibition hall stuff. I'll type up a detailed description of the adventure when I get in. But yeah, RTD was really cool. He's here visiting the production office and he's never been to the experience so he came to check it out, he was with us during the adventure and exhibition stuff. Got a photo with him and had a chat about Moffat and stuff. Just waiting for the TARDIS tour now, such a good day!
post pics

Did you tell him about that time you call his writing shit on the internet? [editline]10th December 2014[/editline]
BBC Theme Park, anyone? :v: :v: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/11284388/BBC-to-open-theme-park-to-exploit-Doctor-Who-and-Top-Gear-brands.html
Brilliant! My girlfriend lives near there! And I have a BBC badge. Free (or at least discounted) trips to Doctor Who land all the time (for me).
Right, so, the adventure: [sp] Sorry to disappoint but Romana is literally just a voice over for a tiny bit at the beginning (RTD seemed to love Romana being the VO, btw). There's a bit at the beginning explaining who the Doctor is and what the Time War was, with a clip of each Doctor, ending on a wonderful shot of Capaldi in Deep Breath. The adventure starts off in the "Museum of Gallifrey" and the Curator who guides you around locks on to the TARDIS' current location, but it is attacked by time squid things. The screen then opens and you step into the inside of the TARDIS, specifically the tree thing from Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS. the Doctor appears on screen (in the 1st Doctor's console room at first, but it then switches to 10's and then finally 11's first one) and tells you that the Time Squids are making time collapse everywhere and that you need to fly the TARDIS to find three special time crystals that will save the day. You "control" (there's a dial for the kiddys to wiggle) 11's first console room as it shakes and flies and shit, you step out into Skaro where there are broken Daleks everywhere, one has a time crystal lodged into it. There's a bit of audience participation when you go up and take the crystal and the Daleks all wake up. You escape from that room and run into a forest full of Weeping Angels. The weeping angel bit is actually pretty scary, it's dark and there are angels everywhere as the lights flash on and off. You get another crystal from there and finally end up in London - 1963, Totter's Lane to be exact. You walk into the junkyard (actually really fucking cool, the doors are massive) and catch up with the Doctor. You place all three time crystals (you get one from the junkyard which activates the Doctor's video) into slots and then suddenly shit (daleks, angels, time squids) flies at you from a 3D screen, you use these "Gallifreyan VIP Passes" (lanyard things they give you at the start) to deflect all the shit back into the vortex and the Doctor congratulates you. He tells you to go waste your pitifully short life eating Cornflakes or whatever it is we humans do. Then you walk out into the exhibition hall straight into 1's TARDIS [/sp] < Basically it's guff for the kiddies, nothing substantial Exhibition hall was pretty fucking cool. I'll upload all the important photos now. In regards to RTD, it was pretty cool going round with him and someone from the production office. He was getting pretty nostalgic, I asked him if it was weird knowing that the whole thing existed just because of him bringing back the show and all and he said "it's pretty humbling, yeah". Only bad thing was that I couldn't be mean about the Absorbaloff infront of him.. He said he likes Moffat's Who, liked the Day of the Doctor and said he wouldn't have done anything differently; mentioned that Catherine Tate had text him that morning, bit surreal. We got to 10's TARDIS and he said "I have his number". I was gonna mention Freeze but that'd be a bit weird imo. It was pretty funny, I had to do a double take when I saw him, my girlfriend thought I was bullshitting and refused to go up to him with me so I just went up to him and said "My girlfriend doesn't believe you're RTD, can you go and tell her you are?" and he did, really lovely guy, feel really bad about slagging him off when I was 15 now. [t]http://i.imgur.com/ba1bDte.jpg[/t] < Me and the bestie (excuse me looking really short, RTD is fucking huge (and I am pretty short)) [t]http://i.imgur.com/3PIzoI8.jpg[/t] < Me about to fuck off and get some lottery numbers I'll upload the rest of the photos to FB later, my girlfriend has some on her camera too and I reckon her camera's a bit better than my phone so I'll do them too. Pretty good day!
Can you imagine the chances of going to the Doctor Who experience and seeing somebody heavily involved!?
Can you imagine the chances of going to the Doctor Who experience and seeing somebody heavily involved!?
You mean like how certain writers for this series should have been?
Good to hear about your adventure, EG19. [sp]Shame about Romama's role,[/sp] but the interactive bit still sounds fun to a certain extent. I know I got giddy at the thought of Capaldi on all those different TARDIS sets. The next best thing I could find is that guy from the Community-born parody of the show interacting with it.
Who wouldn't want to spend a bonkers Christmas with Michelle Gomez? When is Freeze coming back? :v:
If only McGann's console could be there for that sequence.
Only 1's, 9/10's and 11's TARDIS' are involved because they're the only ones they have at the Experience as permanent exhibits (Well, 11's isn't part of the exhibit bit cause it's part of the interactive adventure), there's a bit where the Doctor is in the current TARDIS at the end, too. They have the TARDIS that 5, 6 and 7 used but it's not permanent, it's on loan from a private collector, which is why it isn't used in the interactive adventure I guess.
How would the current Cybermen (Super Speed, Flying around) fair against the 2006 Daleks (pre nano abilities)? I want to see that fight for sheer entertainment value.

The beginning part reminded me of something they'd have in Doctor Who Confidential.

Not watching the trailer in the hope to keep it all a surprise!
Nick Frost had trouble pronouncing Kantrofarri, and his attempts to do so had Peter corpsing so helplessly with laughter that the director said rather pointedly, "shall we try again from a point at which you're less likely to laugh"
:v:

I was originally dreading this after Santa's appearance at the end of Series 8. I've been slowly won over ever since. Until I groaned my way through that clip. But apparently the clip is gloriously hilarious so I think Christmas Day is required for me to appreciate Moffat's Christmassy bollocks :v: This one, especially.
considering i will not be sober on christmas day, i think ill enjoy the santa shite a bit more than i do now
I guess the sciencey aspect of the science fiction is out the window.
So the badass Santa is what made you realize that, not the constant bizarre time travel plots and the two-hearted alien who is basically immortal and knows everything?
So the badass Santa is what made you realize that, not the constant bizarre time travel plots and the two-hearted alien who is basically immortal and knows everything?
Somehow time travel & Time Lord biology seems much more applicable than an army of slinky toys and a fob-lockable reindeer :v: Enjoy this page:
One of the Cybermen from the final should survive and become 'Cyber Man' the hero in some episode just to confuse the Doctor :v: . How funny is that a Cyber Man lost his memory and thought he was a hero :v: . Also, I want Rusty the Dalek to return.
I guess the sciencey aspect of the science fiction is out the window.
Doctor Who is not and never has been a Science Fiction. It's fantasy in space and time. [editline]13th December 2014[/editline] There's literally no science here. Fantasy doesn't exclusively mean swords, dragons and wands.
it's science fantasy
