Literally two of the first people to post today were the ones that said they wouldn't show up. :v:
Merry Christmas everyone!
ETA till Doctor Who airs?
Three hours, 20 minutes.
So, I'm watching the Alien Christmas special?
Edit: Ten minutes later and Mister Hungry eyes says it.
uh sni
Inception + Alien = ???
awfulawfulawfulawful
that was pretty neat
except dream states are still terrifying because you can still never 100% be sure you're out of a dream
I loved the ending, im glad it didnt end like it was written on some websites
That was like, the darkest Standard TV Christmas Special "But Was Santa Really Real All Along?" Ending ever, because there's that implication [sp]it could still be a dream.[/sp]
idk i just found that utter shit, was predictable at every step, [sp]only thing i was hoping would happen is clara would finally leave but nope.[/sp]
Faye Marsay and Natalie Gumede. I get the feeling I'm going to leave the special thinking that one or both of them should stay with The Doctor.. and that's knowing nothing about their characters :v: It's usually the way of things.
...and it was the way of things again :v:
[sp]Though I hold out false hope that Shona calling The Doctor a magician holds relevance to S09E01[/sp]
was pretty good, wonder if the the doctor woke upon that planet in a previous or up and coming episode?
I like how the roles were switched with the cracker scene, reminiscent of the scene in Time of the Doctor

i feel like he woke up on the planet they went to in the dream patch episode.
So a Dream within a Dream within a Dream within a Dream within a Dream.
You Sure they still ain't Dreaming?
Really good Christmas special, slow start but hit its stride after that.
So where was The Doctor? Checking out a "rubbish" volcano by the looks of it :v:
Pros - Nick Frost was the don as Santa
Great atmosphere, Capaldi was great
Loved the plot
Cons - Danny "Two in the Stink, one in the Splink" Pink
Bit predictable
Clara wasn't actually 80 odd at the end
Shona isn't a new companion
So a Dream within a Dream within a Dream within a Dream within a Dream.
You Sure they still ain't Dreaming?
we're not, and that's the frustrating part. it's like Amy's Choice. you still don't know whether or not you're dreaming.
hell, for all intents and purposes, they could still be fucking dreaming Amy's Choice.

Shona isn't a new companion
Poor lonely Shona. Bit of a downer for two characters at the end, there.
I loved everything but the ending itself. Am I the only one who was dissapointed when Nick Frost popped in that last time?
that was pretty good
the make-up on clara at the end was awful and the green screen was a bit tacky but other than that I enjoyed it
(also they didn't have wounds on their head at the end, just pointing that out)

Neither did they in the dreams

Seconded

Would have been a nice way to end. I dread to think what they're going to do with the character now. I'm starting to think Rory was treated better - and his exit was just laughable.
Thankfully my Santa reservations were swept under the rug. Nick Frost was great.
"He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake."
"He knows if you've been bad or good"
"So rescue Shona for goodness sake"
