The guy who played Sontaran General Staal is also the guy who played Mike "The Cool Dude" in The Young Ones and Dave Hedgehog in Bottom.

According to tvrage.com (totally dependeable source i think(doubt)) Starkey's only 1.58 meters tall, so i doubt they've really done anything in post.
I'd love to see a proper Sontaran story in S8. Sontaran Stratagem/Poison Sky were among my favourite Tennant episodes, and now that we have a sontaran as a support character it would be interesting to see how he would react if his own people came back to attack Earth.

They just build HUGE sets and put everybody else on stilts.

I was thinking this too. A moral dilemma for Strax would be neat.
But it better be a 2-parter.
To make up for this series, every story next year must be part of a 2-parter.

It was the first series written with 40-45 minutes in mind.
But something about it didn't work. The episodes felt padded.
I've always thought Christopher Lee would make a great Master-ish type of villian knowing his voice and his looks.
If he ever was on the show I doubt that he'd do something physical since he is 90 years old and still going.
